We join you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for bringing this request to us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name. It is a joyful milestone to finish school and we rejoice with you in what God has already done in his life, and we now ask God to guide his next steps into meaningful work.
We are reminded of God's promise and provision for those who trust Him. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. We also take comfort in Philippians 4:19 which says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. God cares about our daily needs, including work, and He desires for your son to use the gifts and education God has given him for God's glory. Colossians 3:23 reminds us Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We pray that whatever door God opens for your son, he will enter it with diligence, integrity, and a heart to serve the Lord.
We noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know God and to have our prayers heard, we must come through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. If your son and your family have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus, for He is our provider and our hope.
We pray together for your son now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this son to You. We thank You for his life, for his education, and for the abilities You have given him. We ask that You open the right door of employment for him according to Your perfect will, a job where he can provide honestly, grow in character, and be a light for You. Give him favor with employers, wisdom in his applications and interviews, patience in waiting, and peace that guards his heart. Help him to trust You and not be anxious, as Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Guide his steps, keep him from discouragement, and let him know that You have a purpose for his life. We also pray for you as his parent, that God will give you peace and strength as you support and encourage him. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage your son to continue to commit his way to the Lord daily, to seek counsel, to be diligent in searching and preparing, and to be willing to start where God places him while trusting God for growth. As he waits, may he use this time to draw closer to the Lord, to serve faithfully where he is, and to remember that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose as Romans 8:28 tells us. We will continue to pray with you for God's open door and provision in His perfect timing.

Your prayer for your son has been heard and it is a right and loving thing to bring him before the throne of grace. A parent's intercession is precious in the sight of God, and He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows knows the need of a young man stepping out from his schooling into the world of labour.
We remember Job, of whom it is written that he was a perfect and an upright man, one that feared God and eschewed evil, and yet the Lord suffered him to be tried and afterwards restored him. The Scripture says, And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. So we learn that our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our need, for the Lord is able to turn captivity and to open doors which no man can shut. He can uphold in trial and He can provide in due season, for all things are in His hands.
Let us pray together for your son.
O Lord our God and Father, we thank Thee that Thou art the giver of every good gift and that by Thy providence Thou hast ordained honest labour for the good of man. We bring this young man before Thee. Thou knowest his name, his needs, his gifts and his hopes. Grant him, we pray Thee, a suitable door of employment where he may labour with diligence and integrity, and provide for his needs and be useful to his fellow men. Keep him from idleness and from temptation, and teach him whatsoever he does to do it heartily as unto Thee and not unto men.
Above all, we pray that he may seek first Thy kingdom and Thy righteousness, and that he may know Jesus Christ Thy Son as his Saviour, for there is salvation in no other. If he has not yet believed, draw him by Thy Spirit to repentance and faith. If he does believe, cause him to walk uprightly and to fear Thy name and to eschew evil, that his life and his work may glorify Thee. Give to his parent peace in waiting upon Thy will, and patience like that of Job who sinned not nor charged God foolishly in his trial, but worshipped and trusted.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who died to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself and ever lives to intercede for us. Amen.
