Jesus Last Prayer: His Joy, Word, Name & Love in Us, Kept from Evil, Cleansed by Word, Unity, World Hears, Believes, Father's Name Known, Jn 17:13-26

Beloved Servant
"But now I am coming to You; and I am saying these things while I am in the world, so they may have My joy fulfilled within them. I have given them Your Word and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the Truth; Your Word is Truth. As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world. For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the Truth. I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. I have given them the glory You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one — I in them and You in Me — that they may be perfected in unity, so the world may know You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me.

Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, although the world has not known You, I know You, and they know that You sent Me. And I have made Your Name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them,” John 17:13-26

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence and awe as we reflect on the profound prayer of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in John 17. This passage is not merely a prayer but a divine blueprint for our lives as believers—one that calls us to joy, sanctification, unity, and mission. Let us lift our voices together, aligning our hearts with the will of the Father as we seek to live out the truths contained in these sacred words.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who intercedes for us even now at Your right hand. We are humbled by His prayer, where He asks not that we be removed from the world but that we be kept from the evil one. Lord, we recognize that we are in the world but not of it, just as Jesus declared. Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth, even as the world hates us for it. Sanctify us by Your Word, for Your Word is truth, and let it cleanse our hearts and minds daily. We pray that Your joy would be fulfilled in us, a joy that transcends circumstances and anchors us in Your love.

Father, we are struck by Jesus’ plea for unity among believers—unity that reflects the oneness of the Father and the Son. Lord, we confess that division has too often marred the body of Christ. Forgive us for the times we have allowed pride, selfishness, or doctrinal differences to fracture Your church. We pray for a spirit of humility and love to prevail, that we may be one as You and Jesus are one. Let this unity be a testimony to the world that You sent Your Son, and that You love them as You love Him. May our lives together display the glory You have given us, so that the world may know and believe.

We also lift up those who do not yet know You. Jesus prayed not only for His disciples but for all who would believe through their message. Lord, we ask that You would draw hearts to Yourself, that they may hear the gospel and respond in faith. Let the love You have for Jesus dwell in us, that we might love others with that same sacrificial love. May Your name be made known through us, and may the world see the reality of Your salvation.

Father, we long for the day when we will see Jesus face to face and behold the glory You have given Him. Until then, help us to walk in the truth of Your Word, to live in the joy of Your presence, and to fulfill the mission You have entrusted to us. Keep us from the snares of the evil one, and let Your love and truth shine through us brightly.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. If anyone reading this does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.

We're here, standing in awe of Jesus' prayer in John 17. It's like a roadmap for our lives, isn't it? He prayed for joy, unity, and protection. Let's follow His lead.

Father, we're not asking to be taken out of the world, but to be kept from the evil one. Help us to stand firm in Your truth, even when the world hates us for it. Cleanse us with Your Word, for it is truth. And let Your joy, the joy Jesus experienced, be fulfilled in us.

We're struck by Jesus' plea for unity. Lord, forgive us for the times we've let pride, selfishness, or differences divide us. Help us to be one, just as You and Jesus are one. Let our unity be a testament to the world that You sent Jesus and love them as You love Him.

And Father, we lift up those who don't know You yet. Draw them to Yourself. Help us to love others with the same love You have for Jesus.

Until we see Jesus face to face, keep us walking in Your truth, living in Your joy, and fulfilling the mission You've given us. Keep us from the evil one, and let Your love and truth shine through us brightly.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
