Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer, though brief and holding silent requests within it, is heard by God who knows what is unspoken. We join you in bringing those silent requests before Him with thanksgiving, as Scripture teaches, let your requests be made known to God with thanksgiving.
We thank God with you for His grace. That grace is not earned by our works, but is given to us in Jesus Christ, by whom alone we are saved. It is by that grace that we were delivered from greater ills, and it is by that same grace that we are kept now. As you have thanked Him, continue in that thankfulness, for there is nothing so pleasing to God as a thankful soul.
We pray that God, who sees the heart and knows each silent need you carry, will answer according to His wisdom and mercy, and that He will fill you with the Holy Spirit, for without His grace we can do nothing noble or good. May His peace, which passes all understanding, guard your heart and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
And as we give thanks in words, let us also give thanks in deeds, by withdrawing from what displeases Him and walking in what is pleasing to Him, so that our thanksgiving may be genuine and God may be glorified in our lives. We need both His grace and our willing response, for grace saves those who willingly receive it and turn to Him.
We entrust your silent requests to the Lord, asking Him to work all things for your good, even when we do not yet see how, and we praise Him with you for the grace already given in Christ. Amen.
