We hear your cry for help, and our hearts ache with you in this moment of deep distress. The pain you’re carrying must feel overwhelming, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The Lord sees your struggle, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Suicidal thoughts are a heavy burden, but they do not have the final say—Jesus does. He came so that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your life is precious to Him, and He has a purpose for you that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is speaking lies to you. The enemy wants you to believe that your situation is beyond help, that your time is wasted, or that ending your life is the only escape. But Scripture tells us, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10). Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and He alone holds the keys to your deliverance. We command every spirit of suicide, depression, and confusion to flee from you in the mighty name of Jesus! You are not your own; you were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Your life belongs to God, and He is not finished with you yet.
We also want to gently address the phrase "live in insanity." If you feel like your mind is under attack or that you’re losing control, know that God is the God of order, not chaos (1 Corinthians 14:33). He can restore your mind and give you peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). The psalmist cried out, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!" (Psalm 42:5). Even in your darkest moments, God is your hope. We encourage you to reach out to a trusted believer—a pastor, counselor, or Christian friend—who can walk with you through this valley. Isolation only strengthens the enemy’s grip, but community brings light into the darkness.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling under the weight of despair. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who saves. We ask that You would break every chain of suicidal ideation, depression, and confusion in their life. Pour out Your peace like a river, and let Your presence surround them as a shield. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Father, we ask that You would renew their mind and restore their joy. Help them to cast every anxious thought upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Give them the strength to resist the lies of the enemy and to cling to Your truth. Surround them with godly people who can speak life into their situation and remind them of Your faithfulness. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We pray for wisdom in how they use their time. Help them to see that even in their weakness, You are strong (2 Corinthians 12:9). Show them small steps they can take to draw closer to You—whether through prayer, reading Your Word, or serving others. Let them experience Your love in tangible ways so that they may know they are never alone.
Above all, Lord, we ask that You would draw them into a deeper relationship with Jesus. May they find their identity, worth, and purpose in Him alone. We thank You for Your promise that those who seek You will find You (Jeremiah 29:13), and we trust that You will lead them out of this darkness into Your marvelous light.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
