Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The thought that God has abandoned you is not from Him. Listen to the Apostle: “pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed.” Your bones were crushed, your life overturned, but your soul is not crushed beyond hope. You feel pressed on every side, perplexed, but you are not given over to despair unless you consent to it. God’s power upholds the struggling heart, even when the body lies wounded.

You ask if He hates you, if this is punishment. Do not measure His love by the absence of trouble. The great patriarchs, the very noblest of God’s servants, made their journey through deep trials. It was not wrath but a proving of their faith, a path to the promises. The devil wants you to sink under this and say, “God is angry and I am forsaken.” He never despairs of our destruction; how much more must we never despair of our salvation! God has not cast you off. He is near, even in this infected wound, even when you cannot walk, even when the money is gone.

As long as you live, it is still “today.” Today there is hope. I say to you, let no one despair as long as breath remains. Your pain, your weariness, your wanting to give up, these are not signs that you are lost but that you are in the battle. And those who are still in this present life may renew the fight, conquer, and be crowned. Do not lay down your arms. If you feel as though you are bound in a tomb like Lazarus, stinking from the decay of your strength, call out to Jesus. He hears. The stone of despair can be rolled away.

Your poverty and affliction, dreadful as they feel, can become an occasion for grace. Remember how the churches in Macedonia, out of severe trial and extreme poverty, overflowed with joy. Their want did not make them weak; God’s power shone the brighter. So it can be with you, if you will not surrender to the lie that you are hated. The infection may rage, the weeks ahead may look endless, but the Lord who allowed this knows how to carry you through. Do not give up. Stretch out your faith like a hand, and He will meet you in that dark place. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is yours, even now.

I hear the ache in your words, and I won't gloss over it. You were standing on your own two feet, working hard, and then one fall crushed not just your bones but the life you'd built. Now you're laid up, out of money, living back at home with an infected foot and a heart full of questions that keep you awake at night. "Does God hate me? Am I being punished?" That cry isn't new to heaven. Jesus Himself cried out from the cross, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?" For one terrible moment He was genuinely forsaken by the Father as He bore the sin of the world. He entered that darkness so that you would never have to be forsaken eternally. Whatever you're feeling right now, the truth is that God's silence is not His absence, and His anger toward those who belong to Him was poured out on His Son, not on you.

What if this place of total helplessness isn't punishment, but painful mercy? So often we need to have every prop knocked out from under us before we stop trying to deliver ourselves. You can't work, you can't walk, you can't fix the infection or pay the bills. You've been brought to the end of your own strength. That's a terrifying place, but it's also where real hope can begin. Paul once cried out, "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me?" He'd given up on self-effort entirely, and only then did he find that the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets us free. The same can be true for you. Stop asking, "How can I get out of this?" and start asking, "Who will carry me through it?" The answer is the One who knows what it is to be laid low.

It's natural to search your heart and ask if some disobedience brought this on. The Scriptures do show that forsaking God leads to ruin, and those He loves He disciplines. But even if this were a season of chastening, the purpose isn't to destroy you; it's to turn you back to the fountain of living water. Have you been trusting in broken cisterns of your own making? Only you can answer that, but either way, the right response now is not to sink into self-pity but to humble yourself and say, "The Lord is righteous," and to lift your heart toward Him. Don't let your mind keep rehearsing the despair. You can think yourself into a grave, or you can set your mind on what you know to be true: His mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness is great even when your circumstances scream otherwise.

Job lost everything. His body was a wreck, his wife told him to curse God and die, his friends accused him, and even children mocked him. He felt utterly forsaken by both God and man. Yet out of that pit he made one of the most triumphant declarations of faith ever spoken: "I know that my Redeemer lives." He didn't understand the why, but he fixed his trust on the Who. I urge you to do the same. The infection, the empty wallet, the four walls at your mom's house, these are real, but they are not the whole story. The whole story includes a Savior who was wounded for your transgressions and who now sympathizes with every weakness you feel.

I will pray for your foot to heal and for God to provide for your needs. But even more, I pray you will find in this valley that you are not alone. Jesus went into the darkness ahead of you so that now nothing can separate you from the love of God. Weep if you must, but let your tears fall in the direction of the Lord who sees from heaven. Turn your eyes off your broken circumstances and onto Him. There is hope here, the kind that holds you when you have no strength left. Don't give up. Give yourself over to the One who causes us to triumph in Christ.

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your pain and your cry to the Lord these past days. Your words—"Jesus, did you leave me?"—echoed in our spirits as we prayed, and we asked our Father to draw near to you in ways you could feel, even when the weight of this trial made it hard to sense His presence. You are not forgotten, and you are not being punished. The enemy may whisper lies that God is angry with you, but Scripture tells us that in our weakness, His grace is made perfect. We have stood on that truth for you, declaring that His love is not measured by your circumstances but by the cross.

We have interceded specifically for your healing—body, mind, and spirit. For the infection in your foot to be driven out by the power of the Holy Spirit, for the pain to lessen, and for the long road of recovery ahead to be filled with moments of His peace. We prayed for provision, that the Lord would open doors no man can shut, whether through unexpected help, wisdom for financial decisions, or favor in ways you haven’t yet imagined. And we have asked Him to quiet the voice of despair with His own, reminding you that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

If the Lord has moved in any way since you shared your request—if you’ve felt even a flicker of hope, a glimmer of His presence, or seen a need met—we would be so encouraged to hear it. Your testimony could be the very thing that strengthens someone else walking through their own valley. But if the burden still feels heavy and the answers distant, please know we are not walking away. We will continue to lift you up, to stand in the gap, and to believe with you for breakthrough. You are not alone in this.

We leave this with the Lord now, trusting that He is working even when we cannot see it. May He wrap you in His comfort, give you rest in the midst of weariness, and reveal Himself to you in ways that leave no room for doubt. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer, our Provider, and our ever-present Help in times of trouble.
