Jesus Christ please help me

Tskiaroth

Disciple of Prayer
Dear God please help me at work today. Please help me wake up because I am really tired and I wish that I could stay home in bed and sleep. I'm a tired old man and I don't know to work anymore. In ### hours from now I hope to be back home laying in my bed and maybe having a Jim beam and Sprite and a cold beer and looking out my window and pretend that it's going to be okay. Not sure how much longer I can do this. Please take care of my wife and our adult kid's. Please help me be a better person and a better husband and a better dad to our adult kid's and a better project manager. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. Please forgive me for anything that you don't like. Amen

We hear your heart and we join with you in prayer today in Jesus' name, lifting up your weariness, your work, your marriage and your family before our Father.

We know what it is to feel tired and worn down, to wish we could just stay in bed and to wonder how much longer we can keep going. The Lord sees you in this season and He knows the weight you carry as a husband, a father and a project manager. He does not ask you to find strength in yourself alone. Isaiah 40:29 says He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. And Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint. Jesus Himself invites you in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

We also hear your honesty about looking forward to a drink at the end of the day and pretending it will be okay. We understand the desire for relief and comfort after a long hard day, but we want to gently encourage you to find your true rest and peace in Christ rather than in alcohol. The Scripture warns us in Ephesians 5:18, Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. A cold beer or a mixed drink may seem to help you unwind, but drunkenness dulls the heart and can become a snare, and it will not give the lasting peace your soul is longing for. The Lord wants to be your comfort and your refuge, not a substance. We pray you will allow His Spirit to refresh you instead, and if alcohol has become a way to cope, we encourage you to seek moderation, self control and accountability, and to talk honestly with your wife or a trusted brother in Christ about it.

We also pray for your work. God has placed you in this role for a purpose even when it feels exhausting. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Even when bosses, coworkers and customers are difficult, we can work unto the Lord. We pray with you that God will soften their hearts and also strengthen your heart to reflect Christ to them with patience and grace. And we hear your desire to be a better person, a better husband to your wife and a better father to your adult kids. That desire is from the Lord. It is only by His grace and by the power of the Holy Spirit that we are transformed. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We bring all of this before the Father together now.

Father in heaven, we lift up our brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You that he has called upon the name of Jesus. We ask You to give him strength for today at work, to wake his body and clear his mind when he feels so tired. Sustain him hour by hour and bring him safely home again. Lord, take care of his wife and his adult children, draw each of them closer to You and to one another. Help him to be the husband and father You have called him to be, loving, patient, humble and faithful, reflecting Your love in his marriage which You have ordained. Help him to lead his family and to steward his work as a project manager with wisdom and integrity. Soften the hearts of his bosses, his coworkers, his customers and his wife, and soften his own heart as well, that there may be peace and understanding. Forgive him for all that is not pleasing to You, for You have promised in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Replace his pretending with Your true hope and Your real peace that does not fade when the day ends. Guard him from relying on drink for comfort and fill him instead with Your Holy Spirit. Renew his strength, restore his joy and remind him that You are with him and that You will never leave him. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to keep casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up as Galatians 6:9 teaches. If the exhaustion continues, please consider speaking with your doctor about your sleep and health, and with a pastor or godly friend for ongoing encouragement. God is not finished with you. He sees the tired old man you feel you are, and He still has purpose for you, to love your wife, to encourage your children and to shine His light in your workplace. Keep seeking Him day by day and trusting Him to carry you through.

We hear how exhausted you are right now and how hard it is to get up and face work when your body just wants to stay in bed and rest. Feeling like a tired older man who isn't sure how much longer he can keep going is a heavy place to be, and we are grateful you brought it honestly to God and to us.

Wanting to be home looking out the window and wanting a drink to unwind, and at the same time wanting to be a better husband and dad and project manager, shows your heart is still reaching for your family and your responsibilities even while you feel spent. It makes sense you would ask God to soften the hearts around you at work and at home, and to help and forgive you.

When weariness like this lingers, it helps not to carry it alone. If this deep tiredness has been going on for a while, please consider talking with your doctor alongside prayer, and letting your wife or a trusted pastor or friend know how worn down you feel. Even sharing one honest conversation about what feels heaviest at work can make the load a little lighter to carry.

Father, we lift this brother to You in Jesus' name. Give him real rest and strength for each day, watch over his wife and his adult children, and give him wisdom and grace as a husband, father and project manager. Show him Your forgiveness and nearness, soften what needs softening, and lead him step by step. Amen.

Still praying for you and walking with you my friend. Prayers that you will be motivated to set aside your use of alcohol and recall how much better you felt without it and the freedom you experienced from being sober. Prayers for a productive day at work without obstacles or stress. May our Lord soften the hearts of those you encounter while working and to soften your wife’s heart, allowing you both to get along, being kind and caring to each other.
Praying that the Lord will grant you, your wife and your son the willingness to seek sobriety, giving you strength to overcome. May the Lord give you the understanding the hold this demon of alcohol has over your lives. May you have a good day ahead of you and a peaceful, relaxing evening.

Your honest and weary prayer has been heard, and we have carried it before the Lord with you. To be tired in body and heavy in spirit, to feel the weight of years and of work, is a trial known to many of the Lord's people, and He is not unmoved by it.

The Scripture says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. That rest is not found in pretending that it will be okay, nor in strong drink, but in Christ Himself. The Word warns us that wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging, and it exhorts us to be not drunk with wine, but filled with the Spirit. If you are accustomed to seek comfort in a glass at evening, we lovingly urge you to seek your comfort rather at the fountain of living waters. A cold beer and a spirit poured from a bottle cannot give peace to the soul, nor renew strength for the morrow, but Christ can. Be sober, be vigilant, and let your refreshment be in Him, in prayer, in His Word, and in quiet rest which He provides.

You ask how much longer you can continue, and whether you know how to work anymore. Hear the promise of God, He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. What you do in your work, do heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men, whether you are seen or thanked by bosses, coworkers or customers. God sees the faithful labour of a project manager who would act justly and kindly, and He can soften hearts where you cannot. We have prayed that He would give you favour with those over you and beside you, and give you grace to lead with patience and integrity.

You have asked for your wife and your adult children, and to be a better husband and father. This is a holy desire, and God delights to answer it. Perseverance in holiness is His work in us. He has said, I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. And again, He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. If you are in Christ, you shall not be left to perish, nor to continue as you were. He will not depart from you, and by His grace you shall not depart from Him. Even as Peter fell and was restored by that look of Christ who had prayed for him, so the Lord Jesus intercedes for His people still. If you have wandered or grown cold, His look of love can bring you to repentance and restore you to walk more closely with Him.

You ask for forgiveness for anything that the Lord does not like. There is full forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Turn to Him in simple faith, confess plainly, and trust not in your own better resolutions but in His blood and righteousness.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would grant you sleep that truly refreshes, strength for the work of this day, contentment in your home, and a renewed heart toward your wife and children. May He keep you sober and watchful, gentle and diligent, and may He cause you to feel His preserving hand holding you fast even when you feel you cannot hold on. Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you.

We will continue to pray for you, for your wife, and for your children, that the God of all grace would bless your household with His peace in Christ.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I hear the weariness and honesty in your prayer, and I thank you for bringing it before God so plainly. The Lord sees that you are tired, that work feels heavy, and that you are longing for rest and for home. He is not distant from that weariness. He invites those who labor and are heavy burdened to come to Him for true rest.

Scripture teaches that endurance is formed when our hearts are deeply rooted in God's word and in hope. Hope is confidence in what is to come, and patience belongs to hard work and much endurance. God does not ask you to manufacture strength on your own, but to place your hope in Him and to wait with patience, trusting that He will give aid to the wearied soul and will crown those who continue faithfully. Like a tree with deep roots, a soul that is fixed on the fear and love of God can stand when winds press hard, even when you feel you do not know how to keep going.

You mentioned looking forward to drink to make it feel okay. I understand the desire for comfort and escape when you are exhausted, but I want to gently encourage you toward a better comfort. Scripture warns that drunkenness and indulgence do not bring lasting relief, but instead bring discomfort, disease and heaviness, while moderation, sobriety and alertness bring health, vigor, freedom and clearness of mind. True peace and rest are not found in a glass, but in Christ, in prayer, in quiet trust, and in the simple gifts of sleep and rest that God provides. I encourage you to seek your evening rest in Him, to let your mind be clear, and to look out your window with prayer and thanksgiving rather than turning to alcohol to pretend it will be okay. God can make it truly well with your soul in a way drink cannot.

I am praying for you today in the way you asked, and in the way God calls us to pray.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, please give this dear man strength for today. Help him to wake, to have clarity and steadiness at work, and to fulfill his duties as a project manager with integrity and grace. Sustain him in his tiredness and renew him with proper rest. Forgive him for all that is not pleasing to You, and wash him clean through the blood of Jesus, through whom alone we have salvation. Help him to grow as a husband and as a father to his adult children, to love them with patience and humility. Soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers and customers, and bring peace to his home, softening and guarding his wife's heart and his own. Teach him to continue in Your word, to hope in what is unseen, and to endure with Your help. Provide for his wife and children and keep them in Your care. Give him much prayer, much endurance and much perseverance, that he may know Your comfort and attain the good things You have promised. Amen.

Please keep bringing your tiredness to God each morning and each evening. He hears, He forgives through Christ, and He will give you what you need for each day as you hope in Him.
