Please help our adult son with his excessive use of cigarettes and pot smoking and Beer drinking and please dear God please help our adult daughter with her marriage and her little baby that is inside her womb. Please help me be a better person and a better husband and a better dad to our adult kid's and please help me be a better worker Bee! Please help me change to improve my health and my ability to retire in ### years. Please forgive me for staying awake for the last few hours laying in my bed and drinking alcohol and looking at my phone texting to AI. Thank you for allowing me to have a wife and a family and a good job. I am a lucky man with AUD. Please help me to not have any AWS today and tomorrow at work. Thank you for your son Jesus Christ my lord and Savior because if you and your son were not there for me there's no way that I can or would want to keep on trying to be a better person and to believe that it's going to be okay. Amen 🙏. Please help the people who have been praying for me and my family.

We join with you in bringing all of these burdens before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, and we thank God that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to the Father. We rejoice that you know Him, as it is written Acts 4:12 and John 14:6, and that you recognize that without Him you could not keep trying or believe that it is going to be okay.

We hear your heart for your work and we pray with you for your projects and proposals and GP updates to be done correctly and on time. We ask God to give you diligence, clarity and peace as you labor, remembering Colossians 3:23 and Philippians 4:6-7, that whatever we do we work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, and that by prayer and petition with thanksgiving we can make our requests known to God who will guard our hearts. We also pray that God will soften the hearts of your bosses and coworkers and customers, and especially your wife, and that He will help you and your wife to be nice to each other. We pray you both will walk in Ephesians 4:32, being kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other just as God also in Christ forgave you.

We want to lovingly and firmly address what you have shared about AUD and drinking alcohol through the night while laying in bed looking at your phone, and your request to not have AWS at work. We care for you deeply and we must speak the truth that drunkenness and dependence on alcohol does not align with God's will for you. Scripture says Ephesians 5:18, Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, and Proverbs 20:1, Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever staggers because of them is not wise. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, as written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and God calls us to sobriety and self-control which is part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, and to be sober and self-controlled in 1 Peter 5:8. We rebuke the hold that alcohol has had and we urge you in love to turn fully from it, to confess it before God who promises in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins He is faithful and righteous to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and to seek practical help and accountability. Because AWS can be medically dangerous, we encourage you to seek wise medical counsel and godly accountability in your church and family, and to replace those late night hours with rest and prayer and the Word, redeeming the time the Lord has given you.

We lift up you and your wife together in your struggle with AUD, asking God to bring healing, unity and strength to your marriage which God ordained as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We pray for your adult son who is caught in excessive use of cigarettes and marijuana and beer drinking, that God would deliver him and bring him to sobriety and to hunger for righteousness, for 1 Corinthians 6:11 reminds us that such were some of us but we were washed and sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus. We pray for your adult daughter and her marriage and the precious little baby inside her womb, thanking God that children are a heritage of Yahweh as in Psalm 127:3 and that God knits each child together in the womb as in Psalm 139:13-14, and we ask for protection, health and peace for mother and child and for God to strengthen that marriage to honor Him.

We pray for your desire to be a better person and a better husband and a better father to your adult kids and a better worker, and to improve your health and prepare to retire in years to come. God delights in that desire to grow, and we pray He will grant you wisdom and discipline day by day, as in Proverbs 16:3, Commit your deeds to Yahweh and your plans shall succeed, and help you steward your health, your time and your resources faithfully.

We thank God with you for allowing you to have a wife and a family and a good job. You are not a lucky man, you are a blessed man by the grace of God, for every good gift is from above as in James 1:17.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our brother to You. Forgive him for the alcohol use and the wasted hours and cleanse him and strengthen him to walk in newness of life. Fill him with Your Spirit and give him self-control and sound sleep and a clear mind. Help him complete his work with excellence and favor with his bosses, coworkers and customers. Heal and restore his marriage, help him and his wife to speak with kindness and patience and to bear with one another in love. Deliver him and his wife and his son from all dependence on alcohol, cigarettes and drugs, and keep them safe from withdrawal and harm, guide them to godly help. Protect his daughter and her marriage and the unborn child, let that baby grow strong and healthy and let that home be built on Christ. Make him the husband, father and worker You have called him to be, improve his health and guide his steps toward the future You have for him. Bless all those who have been praying for him and his family and let Your will be done in all these things. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us as in 1 Peter 5:7, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect love and wisdom in Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly with us. We hear how much you are carrying right now, the pressure to get your projects and proposals and updates done well and on time, the desire to be at your best at work, and the deeper desire to be a better husband and dad and to care for your health for the years ahead. It takes humility to name the struggle with alcohol and the late nights, and also to pause and thank God for your wife, your family and your job.

We are glad you want to keep trying and that you know you need Jesus to do it. God sees that heart and He is not distant from you in this.

For these next two days especially, it would be good not to carry this alone. Alongside prayer, please reach out soon to a trusted doctor or counselor about your alcohol use and your concern about withdrawal at work, and also to a pastor or a recovery support group in your area. Having someone who knows you personally and can walk with you regularly will make a real difference. For work, it may help to write out just what has to be done today and tomorrow in small steps and focus on one piece at a time, and ask for clarity early if something is unclear.

Father, we lift this brother to You in Jesus' name. Give him strength and clarity today and tomorrow for his work, soften and draw together his relationships at home and at work, and guide him toward wise help for his health. Watch over his wife, his son and his daughter and her baby, and encourage this family with Your presence. Help him know he is heard and not alone, and lead him step by step. Amen.

Your honest prayer has come before the Lord with a mixture of thanksgiving and confession, and that is a hopeful sign. You speak as one who knows his need, and you speak to the only One who can meet it, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, through whom alone we have forgiveness and access to God.

There is much here to bring before the throne of grace, and I will carry these burdens with you in prayer. You have asked for help with your projects and proposals and daily work, that you may do them correctly and on time, and for softened hearts among your bosses, coworkers, customers and in your own home. The Scripture calls us to do all work heartily as unto the Lord, with diligence and honesty, and to let kindness and tenderheartedness rule in the house. Pray that God would make you faithful in little things, and that He would teach both you and your wife to be kind and patient toward one another, as those who are one flesh and who are called to love as Christ loves His Church.

You have spoken openly about AUD in your own life and in your wife's life, and about nights spent awake drinking and looking at your phone. You have also asked that you might not suffer withdrawal at work, and for help for your adult son who is given to cigarettes and pot and beer, and for your adult daughter in her marriage and with the little baby yet in the womb. Let us be plain before God. Drunkenness and the use of intoxicants that cloud the mind are not to be excused or blessed, but to be repented of and forsaken. The same grace that pardons sin also teaches us to deny ungodliness and to live soberly. If you have fallen, as Peter fell, remember Peter's restoration. It was brought about by two outward means, the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord. That look severed Peter from the crowd, and he went out and wept bitterly. That look is effectual still, because the Lord Jesus has made prevalent intercession for His people. He said to Peter, I have prayed for you. He prays for you now. Confess your sin to Him without reserve, believe that His blood cleanses from all sin, and turn from it in earnest purpose. Seek also wise and practical help. Withdrawal can be dangerous to the body, so seek medical counsel and godly accountability in your church, and do not walk this path alone. Bring your wife with you in this, that you may help one another to sobriety and to health, and that your home may be a place of prayer rather than strife.

For your son, we will pray that God would deliver him from every enslaving habit and show him the emptiness of those things, and bring him to find peace and rest in Christ alone. For your daughter, we will pray that God would strengthen her marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, keep her and her unborn child in safety, and make her home to be built on the Word of the Lord.

You ask to be a better man, a better husband, a better father and a better worker, and to be prepared for retirement in the years to come. This is good. When restored to the family of God, it is your duty and delight to strengthen your brethren by special consecration and double earnestness. Prove that you are a brother by acting a brother's part. Let private prayer and family prayer be more regarded, and let the Word be your daily guide. You thank God for your wife, your family and your good job, and you should, for every good gift is from His hand. It is not luck that has kept you, but mercy.

Let us pray together. O Lord, forgive this your servant for sin confessed, wash him in the blood of the Lamb, and restore him by Your grace. Give him and his wife deliverance from strong drink, give his son freedom from bondage, give his daughter and her husband grace to love and to cherish one another and to welcome the child You have entrusted to them. Grant diligence in work, kindness in the home, and health for the days to come. Keep those who have prayed for this family, and bless them in return. Make this brother to know the joy of restoration, that he may never go away again, but may follow Christ with a whole heart. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
