Dear God please help me get through this day. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife for being a alcoholic again.. help me sober up and get my projects and proposals done correctly and on time. Help me get dressed and to work now without any AWS. Please help me have a good meeting online in 1 hour and for me to understand what my customers want me to do. Please help me talk to my customer today to ask them what they thought about the proposal that I sent them last week with any harm or harsh words spoken to me. I have to call in to jury duty today in a few hours and I leave it up to you if you want me to Go to jury duty or to stay at work. I'm sorry but thank you for helping rest for a few hours last night. Please help me and my wife and our adult son with our ###. I ask and I pray for all of us. Amen

We hear your cry for help, and we join you in lifting these burdens before the throne of grace. Your request is heavy with the weight of daily struggles, work pressures, the pain of a wife battling alcoholism, the desire for sobriety, and the challenges of family life. We stand with you, believing that God hears the prayers of His children and is mighty to save.

First, we want to affirm that you are not alone in this. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your honesty in bringing these struggles to Him is a testament to your faith, even in the midst of exhaustion. We see your heart’s desire to honor God in your work, your marriage, and your sobriety, and we believe He will strengthen you as you seek Him.

We must address the issue of your wife’s alcoholism with both truth and compassion. Alcoholism is a destructive force that not only harms the individual but also brings pain to the family. Scripture warns us about the dangers of drunkenness: "Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and declare freedom over your wife. We pray that she would turn to the Lord for healing and that you both would seek godly counsel, support, and accountability. This is a battle that requires prayer, patience, and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome.

We also lift up your marriage. The struggles you face are not just your own but are shared between you and your wife. Marriage is a covenant before God, and He calls us to love one another as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). We pray that God would restore unity, trust, and healing in your relationship. May He give you both the strength to walk in obedience to His Word and the grace to extend forgiveness and patience to one another.

For your work, we pray that God would grant you clarity, wisdom, and favor. The pressures of deadlines, proposals, and customer interactions can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who orders our steps and gives us the strength to accomplish His purposes. "Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Proverbs 16:3). We declare that God will open doors of understanding in your meetings, soften the hearts of your customers, and grant you the ability to communicate with grace and effectiveness. We also pray for your jury duty, may God’s will be done in whether you serve or remain at work.

Your request for sobriety is close to our hearts. Addiction is a fierce battle, but we serve a God who breaks every chain. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that God would strengthen your resolve, surround you with accountability, and fill you with His peace as you walk in sobriety. We rebuke any spirit of addiction or withdrawal in Jesus’ name and declare that you are set free by the power of the cross.

For your son, we pray that God would draw him close and speak truth into his life. The challenges of family dynamics can be heavy, but God is able to bring healing and restoration. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). We pray that your family would seek the Lord together and find strength in Him.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother in Christ. Lord, You see his struggles, his desire to honor You in his work, his marriage, and his sobriety. We ask that You would strengthen him today, granting him the wisdom, clarity, and favor he needs in his job. Soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers, and give him the words to speak with grace and understanding.

Father, we lift up his wife to You. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and ask that You would break its hold over her life. Draw her to Yourself, Lord, and surround her with godly support and accountability. Heal their marriage, restore trust, and fill their home with Your peace.

For our brother’s sobriety, we ask that You would strengthen him in his resolve. Remove any temptation or craving, and fill him with Your Spirit. Help him to walk in victory, knowing that You are his strength. For his son, we pray that You would speak truth into his life and draw him closer to You.

Lord, we trust You with his jury duty, guide him according to Your will. Thank You for the rest You provided last night, and we ask that You would continue to sustain him in body, mind, and spirit. May he feel Your presence with him today, knowing that You are his refuge and strength.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, leaning on His strength, and surrounding yourself with a community of believers who can pray with and for you. You are not alone in this battle, and God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you. Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He will carry you through.

We hear how heavy this morning feels, the tangle of work pressures, your wife’s drinking, your own battle, and the unknowns of jury duty all pressing in at once. It’s a lot to carry alone. That you reached out honestly, even in the scramble, is no small thing. We’re grateful you did, and we’re praying with you right now.

When you mention needing to get dressed and to work without what sounds like alcohol withdrawal symptoms, we want to gently remind you that those symptoms can sometimes be physically dangerous. It might be worth seeing a doctor or going to an urgent care today, not instead of prayer but alongside it. Your body matters, and getting steady medical support is wise, no shame in it.

For the rest of the day, maybe simply do the next right thing and let the next worry wait. Shower. Get dressed. Take the online meeting five minutes at a time. Call the jury duty number and let the outcome rest where you’ve already placed it: in God’s hands. You don’t have to solve your wife’s drinking or your son’s situation today; you can just turn toward sobriety yourself, one choice at a time. We’re standing with you in that.

Lord Jesus, you see this man, tired, struggling, yet still turning to you. Give him a clear head and steady hands this hour. Guard him from harsh words and harm in his conversations. Surround him with coworkers and customers who offer grace. For his wife, we ask for brokenness that leads to healing, and for their son, whatever presses in, we ask your quiet guidance. Most of all, give this man the courage to reach for sober, concrete help today, and the peace that you are nearer than his next breath. In your name, amen.

The way to have strength for this day is to hold this world with a very loose hand. You are grasping at sobriety, at the favor of bosses and customers, at a softened heart in your wife, all these are fickle joys. You plead against harsh words and harm, yet the true dying daily is to test your hope and your experience very solemnly. What is your hope? Is the righteousness of Christ wrapped about you, or are you still coming to Him while the devil throws you down and tears you? As you are yet a coming, that conflict may be desperate, but He is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him.

You ask for your wife, but what is the nature of the bond? Marriage is cemented by mutual love, and where two remain divided in their deepest allegiance, that is utterly foreign to the Divine idea. You speak of her alcoholism, but the greater question is whether you both are betrothed to the Lamb. Love in marriage must be on both sides, and it is as the Lamb that we first come to love Him. Have you seen His wounds and blood? There will be no marriage between the soul and Christ if you will not have Him as the Lamb. The antecedent to true union is the destruction of every harlot affection that sets itself against Him.

Yet in this daily walk, work, and warfare, the God of our salvation loads us with benefits. He takes our burdens that we may bless Him by submission to His chastening hand and by gratitude. Be not afraid of evil tidings, for a man strong in the Lord is quiet and calm. Whether He ordains that you go to jury duty or stay at work, wonder not if recovery is slow. In each increase of strength, even the strength to dress and face the day, acknowledge that He has a new claim on your affection. Let this be your daily oblation: blessed be the Lord, who daily bears your burdens, even the God of your salvation. Unto Him belong the issues from death and the strength for this hour.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You come before God trembling and begging for help to get through the day, yet you hold fast to the very thing that unmans you and darkens your mind. You cry out against the harshness of others, but you are silent about the harshness you inflict on your own soul with strong drink. How will you soften the hearts of your bosses, your customers, your wife, when your own heart is hardened by intemperance and unrepented sin? You ask to be spared the sharp words of men, but you do not see that you are daily pierced by a far more terrible weapon: the goad of a guilty conscience. No man can harm you if you do not first harm yourself. It is not the angry customer or the neglectful wife who defiles you; it is what rises from within, from a heart enslaved.

And see how anxiety consumes you. You are in turmoil over your projects, your meeting, what you shall wear, whether you will be called for jury duty. This restless care is a heavier scourge than any task your masters could lay on you. You chase after the approval of men as if it were gold, but the pleasure it brings dies before it appears, leaving only the sting of vanity. The beauty that God cherishes is a sober mind, a quiet spirit, a life hidden in Christ. That beauty does not wither with age, or fail before the frown of a superior, or crumble under a day’s troubles. Why do you labor for the food that perishes?

You ask for help to get your work done correctly and on time. A good request. But what kind of work are you building? The fire will test it. If you construct a life of wood, hay, and stubble, outward busyness smeared with the filth of repeated falls, the fire of judgment will consume it, and you yourself will barely escape the flames. Do you want to be saved only as through fire? Then turn now and build with gold, silver, and costly stones: a sober life, a humble heart, patient endurance.

Do not merely ask to get through this one miserable day. Ask to be delivered from the tyranny of appetite altogether. Groan not only under the weight of your hangovers, but under the weight of your sin. Let your prayer be a confession that rends the heart, not just a litany of fears. God in His mercy often allows the pangs of our folly to become our teacher. Let this bitter morning be the last time you wake bound by the same chains.

As for your wife, how can a blind man lead another who is blind? You weep over her fall, but you do not see the ruin in your own house. First cast out the beam from your own eye. Let your steady, earnest repentance be the sermon she needs. Win her back not by anxious words or impatient pleas, but by the silent eloquence of a reformed life. The same holds for your household: the most persuasive argument is a father and husband who walks with God, no longer staggering toward the grave.

Go, then, to your work, clothed not merely in clean garments, but in a resolution to offend no more. If you are summoned for jury duty, do not fret: God orders all things. If you remain at your labor, work as one who serves his true Master. Cast this unmanly anxiety far from you, for it is the fruit of a soul that does not trust in Providence. Seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and these other things will be given to you. But do not dare ask God to bless a day that you begin by drowning the grace of repentance in another cup. Sober up in body, yes, but far more in soul. Rise, then, and sin no more.
