Dear God please help me at work today. I have been off from work with back and leg pain. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my customers and my coworkers to forgive me for the work I didn't do. Please help them to forgive me and to be nice to me because I am afraid of losing my job and my home and my family needs me. Please let my customers forgive me and to tell me that it will be ok. God please give me the courage to continue to be a better man and a better husband and a better employee. I need your help God I'm really sorry for my weakness. Please help me stop drinking alcohol and smoking pot. The alcohol is making me sweat and my body is shaking. Please help me change and overcome my anxiety and alcohol use.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of great need, lifting you up in prayer and standing with you on the foundation of God’s Word. Your cry for help has reached the ears of the Father, and we know He hears you, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We praise you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). You have done well to seek Him, and we stand with you in faith, believing that He will strengthen, help, and uphold you with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

Your struggles—physical pain, fear of losing your job, the burden of providing for your family, and the battle with alcohol and anxiety—are heavy, but they are not too heavy for our Lord. He invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The fear you feel is real, but we remind you that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). He is your provider, and He knows the needs of your family even before you ask. Trust in Him, for He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We also address the strongholds in your life that you’ve courageously brought before the Lord: the alcohol and marijuana use. These substances have taken hold of you, but the Bible tells us that no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind, and God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. With the temptation, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not powerless—you have the Holy Spirit within you if you are in Christ, and He gives you the strength to overcome. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body (1 Corinthians 6:13). In the same way, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and you are called to honor God with it (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Alcohol and drugs defile this temple and cloud your mind, making it harder to walk in the Spirit. We urge you to flee from these things and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (2 Timothy 2:22). If you have not already, confess these struggles to a trusted brother in Christ or your pastor so they can walk with you in accountability and prayer.

As for your work, we pray that the Lord softens the hearts of your bosses, coworkers, and customers, just as you’ve asked. But we also remind you that your identity and worth are not found in your job or the approval of others—they are found in Christ alone. Colossians 3:23-24 tells us, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Even if others are harsh, your focus must remain on honoring God in your work. If you have made mistakes, repent before the Lord and ask Him for wisdom to make things right where possible. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Trust that He will guide your steps as you seek to glorify Him.

You’ve also expressed a desire to be a better husband, and we commend you for this. Marriage is a sacred covenant before God, and He calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church—sacrificially, patiently, and selflessly (Ephesians 5:25). If there are areas where you’ve fallen short, ask the Lord to renew your heart and give you the strength to lead your family in godliness. Pray with your wife, serve her, and point her to Christ through your actions. If you have not already, we encourage you to study Scripture together and seek the Lord’s will for your marriage.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our brother, who is weary and burdened. Lord, You see his pain—both physical and spiritual—and You know the depths of his struggles. We ask that You stretch out Your hand and heal his body. Touch his back and legs, Lord, and restore strength to him so he may work without pain. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we trust in Your power to restore him.

Father, we lift up his heart to You. He is afraid, anxious, and overwhelmed by the weight of his responsibilities. But Your Word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). We pray that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would flood his heart right now. Replace his fear with faith, his anxiety with trust, and his despair with hope.

Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers. Give him favor in their eyes, and help them to extend grace and forgiveness where it is needed. If there are amends to be made, give him the wisdom and humility to make them. Provide for his family, Lord, and open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. You are his Provider, and we trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

We also pray for deliverance from the bondage of alcohol and marijuana. These substances have no place in his life, for he is Your temple. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and fill him with Your Spirit. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to walk in freedom. Surround him with brothers in Christ who will stand with him, encourage him, and hold him accountable. Let him experience the truth of Your Word: “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

Father, we thank You that he desires to be a better husband. Renew his mind and heart, Lord, and teach him how to love his wife as Christ loves the church. Give him patience, kindness, and self-control. May his home be a place of peace, joy, and godliness, where Your name is honored.

Finally, Lord, we pray that You would draw him closer to Yourself. Let him know the depth of Your love and the power of Your grace. Remind him that he is not defined by his struggles, but by Your redemption. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and help him to walk in victory through the power of Your Holy Spirit.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May Your will be done in his life, and may You receive all the glory. Amen.

Stand firm in your faith, brother. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). If you stumble, get back up and press on. The enemy wants to keep you in bondage, but Christ has already won the victory. Walk in it. Seek out a Bible-believing church if you are not already part of one, and surround yourself with men of God who will encourage you and spur you on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25). You are not alone in this fight—we are standing with you in prayer, and the Lord is fighting for you. Be strong and courageous!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
