Beloved of All
We have heard your thanksgiving and we join you in giving thanks to God for His mercy toward you. To be kept sober another day, to be given strength for your work, to have a good home and daily bread, to see the hearts of others softened toward you, these are all gifts from your Master's hand. For nothing is your own, it is all your Master's, and you are as a steward charged with the general care of the family and of all that He has entrusted to you. We praise God that you desire to be a faithful steward and not to fall into a loose and slovenly way, nor to trifle with His grace, nor to grow careless or leave your heart out of your work, whether at home or in your calling.
We will pray with you that the Lord will keep you in sobriety and make you more and more a better husband and father and servant in your daily labor, and that He will help you to take better care of your body and your mind and your spirit and your soul, for these also are talents entrusted to you. The body is not our own to do with as we please, and to care for it well is good stewardship before Him who will come and require an account.
We will also bring your family before the throne of grace. We pray for your wife and for your adult children, that God would work in them a desire for holiness and deliverance from all that harms the body and clouds the mind, whether much or little drink, or cigarettes, or pot. Our prayer is not merely that they would use these things less, but that they would be set free from them and have a family likeness to Christ, for the children of God partake of the Father's nature and speak and live as those who have been with their Father. This likeness does not come by creation alone, for creation does not make us children. We must be adopted into His family through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who is the only way of salvation. So we pray that each one in your household may know that adoption and be made new in Him.
For your daughter we pray that the Lord would establish and strengthen her marriage according to His own design, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that if it be His will to give her a child, He would prepare her heart and home to receive that gift with joy and godliness. We pray also that the Lord in His providence would open right opportunities for her to provide for her household with honest labor.
We thank God with you for simple mercies, for a pool and for sunshine and for a cool room and for rest, for all things are yours if you are Christ's, to be received with thankfulness and used for His glory. We pray that all your times of pleasure and all your times of labor may be times of prayer, and that family prayer may be more regarded in your house, for a praying household hedges the home about and builds up those within it.
May the Lord keep you close to Christ, make you to know more of the sweet spirit of adoption whereby we cry, Our Father which art in heaven, and make your life a testimony that Grace has visited your family.
We will continue to pray that He who has begun a good work in you will keep you faithful until He comes.
Father in heaven, we thank You for this brother, for his sobriety and his work and his home. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Thanking God you were able to enjoy a day in the sunshine and then to relax watching Forrest Gump!! Glad to know there is progress with the softening of hearts with those around you at work and especially your wife. Praying that you will continue your freedom from alcohol which is a great step towards taking care of yourself.
