Jeremiah 17:7

We are blessed by you sharing Jeremiah 17:7 with us, for this is a beautiful and powerful truth that anchors our souls. We join with you in holding fast to this promise that blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.

We love how this verse stands in contrast to what comes just before it in Jeremiah 17:5 where we are warned about the futility of trusting in man, and how it flows into Jeremiah 17:8 which says that the one who trusts in the Lord will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought, neither will cease from yielding fruit. This reminds us that trust is not passive but a rooted, abiding confidence that sustains us in every season. We are encouraged also by Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in Yahweh with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, and by Psalm 34:8 which calls us to taste and see that Yahweh is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

We notice your post shares this wonderful truth about trusting in the Lord but does not mention Jesus, and we gently want to remind us all together that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Lord and can truly place our trust in Him. Jesus himself said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved. Our confidence before God rests fully on what Christ has done for us on the cross and through His resurrection, and it is by believing in Him and calling on His name that we are made right with God and can trust Him as our Father. If we have not already done so, we turn to Him in faith, confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in our heart that God raised Him from the dead as Romans 10:9 teaches.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we thank You for Your Word and for the blessing You pour out on all who trust in You. We thank You for revealing Yourself as trustworthy and faithful in every circumstance. We ask that You would deepen our trust and make our confidence more fully in You and not in ourselves, not in other people, and not in our circumstances. Like a tree planted by living water, establish our roots deep in Your love and truth so that when heat and drought come we remain green and fruitful by Your grace. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight, to lean not on our own understanding but to acknowledge You in all our ways. We thank You for Jesus, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace, and we place our complete confidence in Him alone for salvation and for daily strength. Draw us closer to Your Son and keep us abiding in Him. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue meditating on this promise and to let it shape your prayers and your daily walk. May the Lord keep you rooted and confident in Him, bearing fruit even in difficult seasons, as you trust Him more and more.

Thank you for sharing this verse with us. It tells us something about where your heart is right now, wanting to put your confidence in the Lord, and we are grateful you let us see that.

We have learned that trust is not just a feeling but a quiet leaning on someone we have come to know as reliable. It can grow slowly, in ordinary moments when we bring an honest worry or decision to God and let Him carry the weight we cannot. To be blessed in this sense is less about circumstances going smoothly and more about being deeply valued and held by Him even when things are uncertain.

If it helps, you might take a few unhurried minutes this week to notice one area where you are choosing that trust today. You could simply tell God plainly what you are hoping for and where you feel unsure, and if you have a trusted pastor or friend, let them know you are trying to walk this out so they can encourage you.

We are praying for you and thank God for your desire to trust Him.

Father, thank You for seeing this heart that wants to trust You. Give steady confidence and peace day by day, and help Your presence be near and real. Draw this friend closer to You and guide each step ahead. In Jesus name, amen.

Blessed indeed is the one who trusts in the Lord, and whose confidence is in Him, for such a soul has learned where alone true safety lies.

The prophet speaks not of a passing feeling but of a settled trust, a confidence that rests wholly upon the Lord Himself. Faith thus clings to the Cross and knows that all is safe, not because the heart is strong, but because Christ has poured out His life and His blood avails before the throne of God. If you have received your hope straight from the throne by trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ, then you have received it from Headquarters and there can be no mistake about it.

Do not place your confidence in yourself, for he who leans upon himself leans upon a broken reed. There is no hope in self, but there is hope in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. Without faith it is impossible to please God, for without faith there is no coming to God who is and no seeking of God who is a Rewarder. The man who has no faith cannot commune with the living God, nor can his works be accepted, however good they may appear.

Yet even little faith saves, for the least faith in Jesus is the gift of God and is like precious faith. It may be as a grain of mustard seed, but it lays hold of Christ and Christ lays hold of the soul. Faith is an active grace and its first activity is prayer. Cry unto God Most High, who performs all things for you, and cast the anchor of faith out even now. Prevention is better than cure, to trust and not be afraid is better than to be afraid and then to trust, but in either case the remedy is the same, to look to Jesus and to rest wholly and entirely upon His finished work.

May the Lord increase your faith, that it may grow from the lily, beautiful but fragile, to the oak with deep roots that defy the winds. May you have no confidence in yourself or in any man, but find your confidence in Christ alone, and so know that blessedness of which Jeremiah speaks, present peace through our Lord Jesus Christ and rejoicing in hope of the glory of God. May the love of God be shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit, and may you be kept in the hands of Jesus now and unto the day of Christ.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

This promise from Jeremiah is a steady anchor for the soul. To be blessed is not simply to have ease in this life, but to have your roots planted deep in the Lord himself, drawing confidence not from your own strength or circumstances, but from His steadfast lovingkindness and faithfulness.

That kind of trust is both a gift to receive and a path to walk. Scripture teaches us to cast everything upon God and to have confidence in the Lord, yet also to do our part with diligence and perseverance. We seek His help in prayer and depend fully on His grace through Jesus Christ, while also laboring faithfully and continuing in the way of virtue until our last breath. Do not throw away your confidence, for it has great reward, even if the fullness of the blessing is not seen at once but is kept for those who endure and will be revealed at His judgment seat.

I pray that the Lord will strengthen this confidence in you today. May He help you to trust Him more deeply, to turn from any confidence in yourself, and to rest in the mercy and power of Christ who alone saves. May He give you grace to walk faithfully before Him, to be steadfast in prayer and in doing what pleases Him, and to look with hope to the unutterable blessings He has promised to those who trust Him and persevere in Him.
