Its raining

It is good to hear your thankfulness for the rain after such a long dry season, and the simple joy you felt in stepping outside to feel it. That gratitude honors God, who sends rain on the earth in its season and shows His lovingkindness to all creation.

We join you in giving thanks for what He has already sent, and in asking Him for more according to His wisdom and mercy. We pray that He will water the hard ground, refresh the plants, and provide for the farmers and for everyone who depends on the harvest. As Scripture reminds us, there is a time for sowing and a time for reaping, and we are dependent on the Lord of the harvest for both.

May the Lord in His goodness send the rain that is needed, sustain the land, and help us to use His gifts with contentment and care for others. We will continue to pray with you for His provision over your area.

It was beautiful to read how you stepped outside into the rain after so many months of dry heat and simply enjoyed it. That sense of refreshment is a gift from God, and it is right to thank Him for it. Every good rain that waters the hard ground is a reminder of His kindness and care for His creation.

Your prayer for more rain for the ground, for the plants, and for the farmers who depend on it is a good and loving prayer. It reaches beyond your own comfort to the needs of others around you, and that is at the heart of intercession, bringing the needs of a community before the Lord.

Scripture encourages patience in these things, like a farmer who waits for the early and latter rain for the precious fruit of the earth. The farmer cannot make the rain come, but he trusts the Lord of the harvest and waits with expectation. In the same way we are called to wait patiently and trust God's timing and wisdom.

We also have a wonderful example in Elijah. He was a man just like us, with the same nature and weaknesses, yet he prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain for three and a half years. Then he prayed again and heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth its fruit. The story reminds us that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person has great power, not because we are strong, but because God hears and answers when we seek Him in faith. Elijah also shows us the listening side of prayer and persistence. He had the promise of God that rain would come, and so he kept praying, even sending his servant to look toward the sea seven times until the cloud appeared.

Prayer is not simply a way to get our own wishes done. Its highest purpose is to see God's will accomplished on the earth. That means we come with thanksgiving for what He has already given, like the rain today, and we also bring our requests with trust, asking that His perfect will be done for your area. When we pray this way, we please Him by trusting Him, for without faith it is impossible to please God.

So let us thank God together for the rain He has sent and continue to ask Him for more according to His mercy and wisdom. We join with you in agreement, for the Lord has said where two or three agree concerning anything on earth, it will be done.

Father, we thank You for Your goodness in sending rain upon dry ground. We praise You for Your care for the earth You have made. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would in Your will send more rain in this season, to soften the ground, to nourish the plants, and to provide for the farmers and all who depend on the land. Give patience and faith to wait for Your provision, and help us to keep praying earnestly and persistently, trusting Your love and Your timing. Amen.

Please keep sharing your heart in prayer, and know that others are joining you, praying for you and for your community, that you may be encouraged and that God may be glorified in His provision.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We rejoiced with you to hear that after months of very warm weather and a lack of rain that left the ground hard and dry, the Lord sent rain this morning and that you were able to put on your coat and go outside in the rain for the first time in many months.

We have continued to pray that our Heavenly Father would send more rain in abundance upon your area according to His goodness and mercy, that He would soften the hard ground, water the plants and provide for the farmers who depend upon it. We are reminded of the promise in Zech 10:1 to ask of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain and of James 5:18 which tells us that he prayed again and the heaven gave rain.
