Your cry that it is over and your life is a train wreck has been heard, and I want to tell you plainly that it is not over while you are still breathing.
Scripture says to exhort one another daily while it is called Today, and that word Today means there is still hope. As long as you are in this world, Today is still in season. Even if a person has sinned greatly or feels ruined, as long as it is Today he has hope. So do not despair of your salvation while you live.
This is a great condemnation to us, that the evil one never gives up hope for our destruction, yet we quickly give up hope for our own salvation. Do not follow that despair. God is more patient and more willing to save than the enemy is to destroy.
You feel that you have gone from life into death, but the God who saves is the one who can lead by the hand from death back into life. We are saved by hope, and hope that is seen is not hope. We do not seek all our good things in this present life. God found us when we were dead and ruined and prisoners and enemies, and He made us friends and sons and free people through Jesus Christ alone. If He did that great work when we had nothing to bring except faith in His promises, how will He betray us now in what is to come. Hold fast to that hope. It was the dowry you brought to Christ at the beginning when you believed, and it is the way you are still saved.
Patience works proven character, and proven character works hope. Those who have passed through many dangers and were recovered by trusting God learn to hold to Him more firmly. Your present trial, painful as it is, can become the place where that proven hope grows.
The axe is laid at the root of the tree, but it has not yet cut. The sentence is not yet absolute. God has allowed this fear and pain not to finish you, but to make you ready to bear good fruit still. Every tree that bears fruit is spared, and God waits for that fruit from you.
So do not be hardened by this affliction and do not stay alone with it. Be encouraged by others and encourage others in turn, with gentleness and patience. Hold your hope firm to the end, for the promise of life is in Jesus Christ, and that promise is not seen yet because it is eternal. Do not demand to have everything restored in this moment, but trust the One who has promised what is to come and who refreshes and strengthens you even now by that promise.
I am praying for you, that God will lift you from this despair, forgive your sins through Christ, give you strength to endure, and show you the next faithful step. Please reach out today to a faithful pastor or mature believer near you, share honestly what has happened, and let them walk with you daily while it is still called Today.
