We rejoice with you that you are looking to the Lord for a new day and we thank God with you that His mercies are new every morning as it is written in Lam 3:23. We hear your heart crying out for favor, for a godly husband, for provision of a tent and a home near the beach, for your passport and paperwork to come together, for your belongings to be gathered, for a good job at a hotel, for joy with family and for peace under the blood of Jesus and we join with you to seek the Father's will together in Jesus' name.
We want to gently and lovingly bring some of these desires before the truth of Scripture so that your prayers may be aligned with God's heart. We hear you declaring I GET this and I GET that and we understand the longing behind it, yet Scripture teaches us to pray Thy will be done and to ask according to His will and not merely from our own desires. As it is written in Jas 4:3 You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. And in Matt 6:33 we are told But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. And in Prov 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. True favor is not always a life of luxury or ease on the beach, but the extraordinary favor we have in Christ is forgiveness, peace with God, and His presence with us in every circumstance.
We love your desire for a Boaz and we pray with you for a godly spouse. Boaz in the book of Ruth was a man of noble character who honored God, worked diligently, protected Ruth's purity and pursued marriage in an honorable way. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed it and we strongly endorse marriage when we pray for a relationship. We encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Jesus Christ, not simply living together or seeking a boyfriend for happiness or companionship. As it is written in Heb 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. And in 2 Cor 6:14 Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers. If you are longing to live and drink and be happy with a great guy, we encourage you to keep that relationship pure and set apart for marriage, fleeing from fornication and living in holiness before the Lord. We also gently caution you about the desire to drink a pina colada and live a life centered on pleasure, for it is written in Eph 5:18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. And in Prov 20:1 Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise. We encourage sobriety and joy in the Lord rather than joy sought in alcohol or a glamorous lifestyle.
We also hear your desire for a fancy hotel desk job where celebrities stay and we understand the appeal of provision and stability. We pray for honest and diligent work for you, for God honors work done faithfully as it is written in 2 Thess 3:10 If anyone will not work, neither let him eat. And in Phil 4:19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray not for status or closeness to celebrities, but for a job where you can serve with integrity, provide for your needs, and be a light for Christ. And we pray for your practical needs, for your tent, your passport, your paperwork and your belongings to be gathered in order, trusting that God knows what you need and will provide in His timing as it is written in Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And in Rom 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We thank you for honoring the blood of Jesus, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His blood that we are forgiven and have peace. As it is written in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We cling to that blood not as a charm for no worries, but as the costly price that cleanses us from sin and gives us eternal hope.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and we lift up our sister to You. We thank You for new beginnings and for Your steadfast love that never ceases. We ask that You align her heart with Your will and teach her to delight herself in You first, trusting Your promise in Ps 37:4 Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Lord, if it is Your will, provide for her a godly husband after the pattern of Boaz, a man who loves You, who will pursue her in purity and lead her toward holy marriage that honors You. Keep her from fornication and from any relationship that is outside Your design for marriage between a man and a woman, and help her to pursue courtship that looks to marriage with a believing spouse. Give her wisdom to walk in sobriety and holiness and to find her greatest happiness in You. Father, we ask for Your provision for her housing, whether a tent or a home by the beach as You see fit, and for her passport and paperwork to be completed according to Your timing. Provide for her belongings and her move, and open the door to honest work where she can labor faithfully and provide for her needs and be a witness for You. Let her family be blessed and let visits be filled with Your peace. Cover her with the blood of Jesus, cleanse her from sin, guard her from anxiety and help her to cast all her worries on You because You care for her. We ask all of this according to Your perfect will and not our own, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
