Your pain comes through clearly and it is right to bring it to the Lord. To be treated with harsh words and destructive actions inside your own home, and to have a needed medical device threatened, is deeply distressing. It is also painful to watch someone you love and have helped in practical ways with money, food and bills respond with anger and disrespect toward you, your mother and others in the household.

Scripture makes a distinction about anger. Jesus showed anger at what dishonored God, at hard and blind religious pride that used holy things for selfish gain, and He drove out what was wrong in the temple. That anger was holy and unselfish. Much of our human anger is different. It comes from stress, pride, or wanting our own way, and it leads to harsh words, throwing things, and harming others. The Bible says to be angry and not sin, and it warns not to let anger control us. When someone says they belong to Jesus, the evidence over time should be the fruit of the Spirit, love, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control. Where that fruit is missing and anger rules, it is a sign that the heart needs to be humbled before God, to confess and to be changed by Him. It is loving to pray that your sister would see this and turn to Jesus not only in words but in a life that shows His work.

God places a high value on family. He gives each family a place and responsibility, and He teaches that those who can should care for their own household. If we fail to provide for our own we deny what we profess. Your care for your mother and your household, including the practical help you have given your sister, reflects that responsibility. At the same time Jesus teaches that our love for Him must be greater than our love for any family tie. That does not mean we hate our family, it means we love Him most, and that is what sustains us when family relationships are strained or even broken. There is also a deeper bond that Jesus speaks of, the family of God. Through faith in Christ we are joined together as brothers and sisters in a way that is deeper than blood alone, one body in Him. That bond reminds us that we are not alone, and it calls us to treat one another with the purity, respect and honor that belongs to family in Christ.

In situations where someone seeks to destroy or intimidate, Jesus did not fight for position or return harm for harm. When people set themselves to crush what God was doing, He withdrew with His disciples to a quieter place. That is a pattern for us. We are not to seek revenge or to shame our family, and we are not to try to build up our own name by using our position. We are to do what is right, to protect what is entrusted to us, and to leave vengeance in God's hands. Your power wheelchair is not a small matter, it is a medical provision for your daily life. It is right and wise to protect it, to set a clear and calm boundary that it not be touched or harmed, and to ask for help from your mother or others in the home to keep it safe. A boundary is not revenge, it is stewardship and care for what God has provided for your health. Continuing to help financially and practically is a kindness, but it should be done with wisdom and limits so that help does not enable further destructive behavior.

Praying for a legal matter is right, but the best prayer is not that a process simply disappear, but that God would bring His peace, truth and justice to it. Stress often makes anger worse, and your sister's stress around her settlement and meeting with her lawyer may be adding to her harshness. That does not excuse the behavior, but it helps you pray with understanding.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we come to You for this household. You see the harsh words, the thrown objects, and the threat to needed medical equipment. We ask for Your protection over this home and over the wheelchair that is needed for daily life. Bring calm where there has been anger, and set a guard over mouths and hands. We lift up the youngest sister to You. You know the pressure she feels around her legal matters. We ask not for our own will but for Yours to be done with truth and fairness. Soften her heart, convict her where there is sin, and bring repentance that bears fruit. Help her to walk with Jesus in reality, showing love, patience and self control. Comfort the mother, the other sister and the nephews, and give this dear one who wrote wisdom to set loving and firm boundaries, to continue to do good without being overcome by evil, and to love You above all. May the peace of Christ rule in this home, and may this family know the deeper fellowship of being Yours. Amen.
