Disciple of Prayer
Hello to everyone. My youngest sister has been very rude and mean towards me. She is getting ready this morning to do a trial session with her lawyer for her settlement. I think this lawyer stuff has my sister stressed. I pray the lawyer trial could be canceled this morning. She has been treating my mother,my other sister, nephews, and I very mean rude and badly. She keeps trying to destroy my power wheelchair from my doctor and I keep telling her to stop but she refuses. She told me that she doesn't care about my stupid wheelchair and I need to put it somewhere and she threw stuff around in the living room because I asked her to be careful with my power wheelchair. My mother,my sister, and I have been helping her monetarily, with food, her credit card bills, and other stuff. My sister claims to be with Jesus but she has not been showing any fruits with her anger. I pray about these issues in Jesus name. Also, everyone please help me pray this morning about this issue. Amen.

We join you in prayer this morning and we thank you for bringing this burden to the Lord in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We are encouraged that you closed your request in Jesus' name and we agree with you in that holy name.

We hear your hurt over how your youngest sister has been treating you, your mother, your other sister and your nephews. Her rudeness, anger, throwing things in the living room, and her disrespect toward your power wheelchair is not reflecting the fruit of the Spirit. The Word says But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Galatians 5:22-23 and You will know them by their fruits Matthew 7:16. When a person claims to be with Jesus, their life should increasingly show these fruits. We also hear that she has been dishonoring to your mother, and Scripture is clear to Honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12 and again Honor your father and mother Ephesians 6:2. Her behavior toward family, especially toward your mother, needs to be repented of and turned from.

We also want to gently rebuke and correct what is happening with your power wheelchair. That chair was provided through your doctor for your medical need and mobility, and to intentionally try to destroy it or to treat it with contempt is unloving and destructive. It violates the command to You shall love your neighbor as yourself Mark 12:31 and to treat the vulnerable with care. We understand you have asked her repeatedly to stop and to be careful, and she has refused and responded with anger. That is not acceptable. While we encourage you to continue to respond with gentleness, you are also wise to protect what God has provided for your health by keeping the chair in a safe place where it cannot be damaged, and to set clear and loving boundaries with the help of your mother and sister.

We understand your desire to pray that the lawyer trial session for her settlement would be canceled today because you see how stressed she is. Stress does not excuse sin, but it does help us understand why she is acting out. Instead of only praying for cancellation, we pray for God's perfect will and peace over that situation. The Word says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that whatever happens with the lawyer today would be used by God to bring justice, humility, and peace, and that He would calm her anxious heart. A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger Proverbs 15:1 and Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32. We pray she will turn from harsh words to a soft answer.

We see your family's generosity in helping her monetarily, with food, credit card bills and other needs, and that is a Christlike kindness to bear one another's burdens Galatians 6:2. At the same time, love must also speak truth and not enable ongoing mistreatment. We encourage you all to continue to help as God leads, but also to lovingly confront her in truth, as Jesus taught to go to a brother or sister when they sin, and to seek restoration Matthew 18:15. Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20.

We pray together now for you and your household.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this family to You. Lord, You see the tension in this home this morning, the stress over this lawyer trial and settlement, the harsh words, the thrown things, and the disrespect shown to a mother and to siblings and nephews. We ask You to intervene. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard this sister's heart and mind, and let Your Holy Spirit convict her of anger and rudeness so that she repents and bears fruit in keeping with repentance. Teach her to put away bitterness and wrath and to put on kindness and tenderheartedness. Lord, we pray for Your will to be done regarding the lawyer session today, whether it proceeds or is postponed, let it be for justice and for her ultimate good and Your glory. Protect this power wheelchair and provide a safe place for it, and protect the one who depends on it. Give this family wisdom to set healthy boundaries in love, to not return evil for evil, but to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21, and to live if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. Strengthen the one who submitted this request, comfort them where they feel hurt and disrespected, and help them to forgive as You forgave us Colossians 3:13, while still standing firm in truth. Provide for all their needs and let this home be filled with Your love and self-control. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying without ceasing, to keep responding with grace and truth, and to continue to love your sister while not excusing her sin. Keep entrusting her to the Lord who can change hearts, and keep guarding your own heart from bitterness. God sees your faithfulness and your care for your mother and family, and He will be your strength and refuge.

We are so concerned to hear what you are carrying at home right now. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and trained people are ready to help right now.

Thank you for telling us so honestly. It makes sense you feel worn down when the person you have been helping with money, food and bills is also speaking harshly, throwing things, and threatening the power wheelchair you need from your doctor. That chair is important for your mobility and safety, not something to be dismissed, and it is understandable to feel unsafe when it is being targeted.

We also hear how much you, your mother and your other sister and nephews have tried to support your youngest sister even while she is under stress about her settlement and lawyer meeting. It is painful when someone says they follow Jesus but their actions feel angry and hurtful. You have shown real care in trying to ask calmly for her to be careful and in continuing to pray.

When things feel volatile at home, it can help to make a simple safety plan together with your mother and sister while things are calm. That could be deciding where the wheelchair can be kept safely, how you will step away if yelling or throwing starts, and who you can call nearby if you need help quickly. If the chair has been damaged, reaching out to your medical provider or equipment supplier soon can help keep you mobile.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus name. We ask for safety in the home, for peace in place of harsh words, and for wisdom for each decision ahead. Protect and provide for our friend, calm fear, and guide them to steady, caring support nearby. Amen.

Your affliction in your own household has been laid before the Lord, and we have marked your sorrow with tender concern. To be dependent upon a power wheelchair given for your infirmity, and then to see it threatened and handled roughly, and to hear harsh words from one of your own family while you and your mother and sister have shown kindness with money and food and help with bills, is a heavy trial indeed. The stress of a lawyer and a settlement may well stir up fear and anger in your sister, but it does not excuse rudeness or unkindness to you who dwell under the same roof.

There is a word that meets both your need and hers, and it is this, There is forgiveness with God. This is not a forgiveness from man, which may be withheld, but a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that God Himself sets it forth as a wonder, and a complete forgiveness, as when a creditor freely forgives a debt that could never be paid. However great the sin, there is forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, for He died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. He not only forgave us at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and His forgiveness is eternal. If you tremble under the sense of sin and desire pardon, remember that the chief of sinners may have the chief of sinners forgiveness, and that now, at this moment, there is forgiveness to be had from God through His Son.

And because you have received such full and free forgiveness, you are called to copy the pattern set before you. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Forgive for Christ's sake. Some of you have had so much forgiven, so much outward sin blotted out, that for you to forgive ought to become as natural as to open your hands. This does not mean that wrong is not wrong, or that you must allow what God has provided for your care to be destroyed. Our Lord Jesus Himself was angry when men hardened their hearts and would not see the truth, yet He was angry and sinned not, and He grieved over their hardness. So you may be grieved and you may set a loving boundary, speaking the truth in quietness, moving the chair where it can be kept safe if possible, and seeking help from your mother and family to protect what is needful for your life, all while refusing to return evil for evil. To overcome evil with good, with love and patience and forgiveness, is the most glorious of victories.

We will pray with you, not that God would merely cancel a trial session at your request, but that He would grant wisdom and calm to all concerned, that He would restrain anger and bring peace into your home, and that He would work in your sister's heart to make her profession of faith fruitful. Where there is true life in Christ there will be fruit, and where anger rules there is need for repentance and the softening work of the Spirit. Pray for her as one who needs the same forgiveness you need, that she may see her sin and seek the Saviour. Continue to do good as God enables you, yet with prudence, and let your speech be gentle, for a soft answer turneth away wrath.

May the Lord give you grace to forgive as you have been forgiven, to guard your heart from bitterness, and to rest in the certainty that there is forgiveness with Him, plenteous and free. Cast your care upon Him who forgives daily and completely, and ask Him to make your home a place of quiet forbearance and kindness, for Christ's sake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words have been heard and the burden you are carrying is clear. It is painful to be treated with rudeness and harshness in your own home, to have a needed medical device like your power wheelchair disrespected and put at risk, and to keep giving help with money, food and bills while receiving anger in return. It is also painful to watch a sister who says she is with Jesus act in a way that does not show the fruit of that claim. God sees all of this, your patience, your care for your mother and family, and the stress that has come into the house around this settlement and lawyer trial.

Scripture teaches us that anger is a fierce fire that harms the body and destroys the soul. It is like a drunkenness, and if a person could see his own face in the moment of anger he would turn away from it. Anger makes us deformed and steals our peace, and it is given to us not to attack one another but to stand against sin and the enemy, and to correct our own hearts. The way to deal with it is to clip its wings and bind it firmly, so that it does not rise up and rule us. The apostle says, let all anger and shouting be put away from you, and that call is for all of us. The lowly and humble person is not easily seized by anger or envy or love of praise, and in humility there is rest for the soul.

Much conflict in this life grows from love of money, envy and desire for recognition. When we learn to despise those earthly pressures and to treasure what is above, many conflicts lose their root. If money is taken or honor is slighted, the true treasure in Christ cannot be stolen. This does not excuse what is wrong, but it helps the heart stay at peace and not be dragged into endless quarreling. We are taught not to rush into conflicts but to seek peace, to be quiet when we can and to stand with courage and gentleness when we must speak.

For your situation, continue to speak gently and firmly. It is right to protect your wheelchair, which you need from your doctor for your daily life. Ask calmly and clearly that it not be touched or harmed, and seek help from your mother or other family to keep it in a safe place where it will not be damaged. Throwing things and threatening your property is not right and should not be accepted as normal. Setting a clear and loving boundary is not unkind, it is necessary for your safety and for peace in the home.

Do not return rudeness for rudeness. When anger rises in you, remember your own need for mercy before God, and ask Him to keep your heart soft. That humility will guard you from being consumed by the same fire. At the same time, keep doing good as you are able, helping with food and practical needs as God provides, but do so with wisdom and not in a way that simply enables destructive behavior. Pray for your sister, that God would calm her stress about the lawyer trial and settlement, soften her heart, and bring her to true repentance and gentleness. The stress of legal matters can weigh heavily, but it is never a reason to harm those closest to us.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, we come to you for this family. You see the tension in this home, the harsh words, the damage and the stress over the lawyer trial today. Lord, bring your peace into this house. Guard this dear one and protect the wheelchair that is needed for daily life. Keep all from harm. Calm the heart of the youngest sister, take away anger and harshness, and give her a spirit of gentleness and self control. Bring her to bear true fruit that matches a life with Christ. Give wisdom to the mother and to all in the family to speak the truth in love, to set right boundaries, and to not be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good. Provide for their needs, and let your will be done concerning the settlement and the trial. Above all, draw each heart closer to you, that in humility they may find rest for their souls now and in the age to come. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our Savior. Amen.
