Is being a deadbeat a sin?

I've heard about many others having this problem,and lately I experienced it a few times too. People who, ask for money from you, a presumed "loan", swear by everything they'll pay you back by a certain agreed upon time, then when the time comes, usually don't,or if you remind them, might give you a part payment, then borrow more alittle later, an amount that overrides the part payment.There seems to be an epidemic of this going around,like some worldly trend or something.It's like, everyone thinks it's "cool" to borrow, but when it's time to pay all of a sudden they're hard to find.Is this a sin? I would say on a few fronts. First , dishonesty.They shouldn't make an agreement with someone if they have no intention of keeping it. Besides, something you do to hurt another is a sin, and if the person was counting on the money back by a certain date, and they don't have it because the person "stiffed" them, their unreliability affected someone else. Also, it's disrespectful of the other person, they gain their trust enough to do it for them, instead of showing gratefulness and consideration for the favor, they spit on them by not keeping their word, and letting the other person come up short the amount. So I would say, it's a sin,if they really had no intention of paying back, and said they would, it's a lie,and if they changed their mind once they got their hands on the money, it's still dishonesty. Would you say what they're doing is sinful?{It's also robbery, because they took something that wasn't theirs and didn't return it.}{Oh, also, when the agreed date comes, they "hide out", you have to chase after them for it,after they gave their word.}

I feel very sad for you Steven! You can't just give to someone in need, you would rather put a burden on someone in need? I don't recall putting a stamp of approval on someone who lied to you and I don't recall putting a stamp of approval on anyone who loans to another without rather giving it so please point that out to me....

And Brother James, thank you again for everything you do on this site that we even dont see. I am thankful for your authority and presence on this site amen!!

Brother James, i would say, dont try to convince Steven with words, he needs a revelation. Start praying for the spirit of wisdom and revelation. When someone doesnt hear it is a spiritual thing. We need to pray for him. He needs help. I see that he is trying his way out, but he simply doesnt see it. He needs a REVELATION. Dont you agree, we cannot put an input into someones head, it doesnt work that way, it is the same with the salvation. The person needs to SEE it and UNDERSTAND IT in the spirit. Dear Brother James, please start to pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation for him. This is the only way, I AM 100 PERCENT SURE. Discussions doesnt help, i have not seen that it had helped him, and you?
I love you Brother James, you are an awsome prayer warriour, but you also need to change your approach to Steven. He just doesnt SEES it. Help him with a prayer, you have a powerful working prayers, amen!!

I do pray for him to have a spirit of wisdom and to have revelation to do things God's way :)

Sometimes that is revealed to us by simply doing what we don't understand :)

I didn't really understand that giving when someone asked to borrow from me blessed me to get more until I gave. Same thing as forgiving someone who owes for work I do. When I forced myself to give it all up to Jesus, then Jesus took care of me! We can't learn unless we do but how do we teach that other than simply praying without instructing as well?

Thanks for your comments sister!!! :)

I agree with you totaly, just add little more love and patience to your instructions, ok? You can teach us many things, let it go through the filter of the power of love, compassion, patience and understanding. I would love to see that so much. I love Steven and i love you to Brother James, God bless you and let both of you grow in knowledge and understanding and love of Christ and let your conversations go to another level, so that i can give praise to God when i read your comments.....

If you cannot pay your debts then take everything to Jesus. Ask for blessings in your life. Start looking for a second job and the money you get from that second job pay your debt off. Jesus will bless your life as you do this.
