Is being a deadbeat a sin?

I've heard about many others having this problem,and lately I experienced it a few times too. People who, ask for money from you, a presumed "loan", swear by everything they'll pay you back by a certain agreed upon time, then when the time comes, usually don't,or if you remind them, might give you a part payment, then borrow more alittle later, an amount that overrides the part payment.There seems to be an epidemic of this going around,like some worldly trend or something.It's like, everyone thinks it's "cool" to borrow, but when it's time to pay all of a sudden they're hard to find.Is this a sin? I would say on a few fronts. First , dishonesty.They shouldn't make an agreement with someone if they have no intention of keeping it. Besides, something you do to hurt another is a sin, and if the person was counting on the money back by a certain date, and they don't have it because the person "stiffed" them, their unreliability affected someone else. Also, it's disrespectful of the other person, they gain their trust enough to do it for them, instead of showing gratefulness and consideration for the favor, they spit on them by not keeping their word, and letting the other person come up short the amount. So I would say, it's a sin,if they really had no intention of paying back, and said they would, it's a lie,and if they changed their mind once they got their hands on the money, it's still dishonesty. Would you say what they're doing is sinful?{It's also robbery, because they took something that wasn't theirs and didn't return it.}{Oh, also, when the agreed date comes, they "hide out", you have to chase after them for it,after they gave their word.}

In Mathew chapter 5 - 42, the Lord says 'Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.'
I think if we follow this teaching, God will definitely pay us back in double measure because we are obeying His words.

Amen! Very nicely spoken! Thank you Lord Jesus for Mavaa, bless her with all she needs in You and more so she can share You and share what You Bless her with in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

NO, you're encouraging them more to do wrong by making them think there's nothing wrong with their actions.LYING is a sin, and at the Great White Throne Judgement, when the books are opened,you don't think the fact that they made an agreement and broke it will come up{I don't mean a legitimate reason, I mean if they know from the get go that they're not going to pay, but LIE and tell you they will?}Why are you defending a wrong action?You're taking a wrong action and making it sound right..When they hear that it only encourages them to do more wrong.What Jesus DID say is let your yes mean yes, and your no,no.If that doesn't mean that to them, then what is what they're doing?A GOOD thing in your eyes?Oh, and the other thing you conveniently forget--sometimes they use the money for bad purposes, like drugs, alchohol, etc.

I'm not sticking up for them, I'm sticking up for the Bible! I'm sticking up for the Words of Jesus! Yes Lying is a sin and yes it is wrong to lie but I believe that the biggest sin in a loan is the person making the loan in not trusting Jesus to pay them back and giving the money to them and having them pay Jesus back! Did you actually carefully read what I posted? I'm sharing with you something I've already shared with you! When are you going to do things in Jesus' Ways?

The Bible also says,"Owe nothing to no one". Unlike them.

Why do you only concern yourself with other's sin? Do you not have sin of your own? Until you do things Jesus way you are going to have troubles and unnecessary troubles at that!

Are we as Christians supposed to forgive those indebted to us? If you don't believe that maybe you should read the Lord's Prayer again! If you don't forgive than you aren't forgiven!

That's not the point,they're gaining someones trust and then destroying it,and there's no getting around that they did wrong to another. But about your reactions to me, you had this dislike for me from the beginning. You give me arguments about everything I say.So you're not a nuetral person to answer my posts.

I don't dislike you Steven! What is the point in complaining on here about what others do to you when you won't do the one thing Jesus asks of you? Forgive as you have been forgiven! Unless maybe you haven't been forgiven?

Yeah, forgiving means putting your seal of approval on bad actions according to you.As for me not being forgiven,you've been trying to label me a false Christian from day one.
