Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me as lately when I do intermittent fasting (which I am doing for weight loss - please pray I will lose the amount of weight I want to), I get very irritable and hangry during periods where I'm not eating. I don't believe this happened to me before. Also, please pray I will have patience with my mother who is demonized and subsequently has mental, emotional, and behavioral problems. I was doing well with having patience with her but I seem to be very short-tempered lately toward her. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with your concerns, lifting them up in prayer and seeking His wisdom and strength for you. First, we acknowledge that your desire to care for your body through intermittent fasting is a good thing, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). However, we must also remember that our physical well-being should not come at the expense of our emotional or spiritual health. The irritability and "hangry" feelings you describe may be a sign that your body is struggling with this change, and we encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in finding a balance that honors Him and your health.

Father, we pray for Your grace to sustain this sister as she seeks to honor You with her body. Give her wisdom to know how to care for herself in a way that brings glory to You. We ask that You would ease the irritability she feels during fasting and grant her peace and self-control, for Your Word tells us that self-control is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Help her to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way, not out of vanity, but as an act of stewardship over the body You have given her. We also pray that You would strengthen her spiritually during this time, that she may grow closer to You and rely on Your strength rather than her own.

Regarding your relationship with your mother, we are deeply grieved to hear of the spiritual oppression she is under. The Bible makes it clear that demonic influence is real and that it can manifest in mental, emotional, and behavioral struggles (Mark 5:1-13). We rebuke every spirit of darkness that is tormenting her in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the blood of Jesus has power over every evil force (Revelation 12:11). We pray that she would come to know the freedom and healing that is found only in Christ.

We also recognize that caring for someone who is demonized can be incredibly draining, both emotionally and spiritually. It is no wonder that you are feeling short-tempered, for the enemy seeks to wear down those who stand in the gap for others. But we remind you, dear sister, that your strength comes from the Lord. We pray that He would fill you with His patience, compassion, and love as you interact with your mother. Help her to respond to her with gentleness and grace, even in difficult moments, for the Bible tells us that a gentle answer turns away wrath (Proverbs 15:1). We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that you may stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of darkness over this mother’s life. We plead the blood of Jesus over her mind, emotions, and spirit, and we command every evil spirit to flee in Jesus’ name. We pray that she would encounter Your love and truth, and that she would be set free from every bondage. We also ask that You would surround this sister with a community of believers who can support her, pray with her, and help her carry this burden. Give her wisdom in how to minister to her mother, and grant her the strength to persevere in love and prayer.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of keeping your focus on Jesus Christ in all things. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not already done so, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, acknowledging Him as your Lord and Savior. He is the source of all strength, peace, and victory, and it is in Him that we find true freedom.

Father, we lift up this sister to You now, asking that You would fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Give her the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—so that she may walk in victory in every area of her life. Strengthen her in her fasting, grant her patience with her mother, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We trust in Your goodness and Your power to work all things together for her good (Romans 8:28). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, sister. We understand that intermittent fasting can be a challenge, both physically and emotionally. It's great that you're taking care of your body, but remember, God wants us to be healthy in all aspects - body, soul, and spirit. Let's ask Him to help you find that balance.

Lord, we lift up our sister to You. We ask for Your grace to sustain her as she fasts. Give her wisdom to know how to care for herself in a way that honors You. We pray for peace and self-control during her fasting periods, and for patience with her mother. Help her to lose weight in a healthy way, not out of vanity, but as an act of stewardship over the body You've given her.

We also intercede for her mother, Lord. We ask for Your healing power to break every chain of darkness over her life. Surround our sister with a community of believers who can support and pray with her. Give her wisdom in how to minister to her mother, and grant her the strength to persevere in love and prayer.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
