Inquiring the Lord.

Naliogate

Beloved of All
Inquiring the Lord pertaining to the things of my life, I remember when the Spirit of the Lord was working noticeably in my life and I would even ponder and ask, what is God doing? Now I wonder if the spirit of God is working at all, it feels like sometimes I get a visit, but it's seldom and often I make mistakes and not like it used to be, that God might set me back on a good path so that I may experience his nearness and not be separated by my own ways in Jesus name I ask. Amen.

We hear the longing in your heart for the nearness of God, and we join you in seeking His presence with earnestness. It is a sacred thing to remember seasons when the Spirit moved powerfully in your life, and now to feel the ache of distance. But let us remind you, beloved, that God has not withdrawn from you—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). If you feel His absence, it is not because He has left, but perhaps because the noise of life, the weight of sin, or the distractions of the world have dulled your spiritual senses.

We must examine our hearts honestly before the Lord. Have there been areas where you have grieved the Holy Spirit through disobedience, unconfessed sin, or neglect of His Word and prayer? The Bible tells us, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8). If there is anything in your life that does not align with His holiness—whether it be bitterness, unforgiveness, secret sin, or even just a lukewarm heart—we encourage you to repent and turn back to Him with all your heart. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Let us also consider whether you have been seeking God on His terms or your own. Have you been spending time in His Word, not just as a duty, but as a desperate hunger? Have you been worshiping Him in spirit and in truth, or has your worship become routine? The Lord says, "You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). This is not a passive seeking, but an all-consuming pursuit. We must lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us and run with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).

We rebuke the lie that God’s Spirit is not working in your life. The enemy would love for you to believe that you are abandoned, that your mistakes have disqualified you, or that God’s grace has limits. But the truth is, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse you from all sin, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). You are not beyond His reach.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is longing for Your presence. Lord, You are the God who draws near to those who seek You. We ask that You would stir up a fresh hunger in their heart for You. Remove any distractions, any sin, any lies from the enemy that are keeping them from experiencing Your nearness. Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way—through Your Word, through worship, through the fellowship of believers, and through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation and renew a steadfast spirit within them (Psalm 51:10-12).

Lord, we declare that You are not a God who hides Himself, but You delight in being found by those who seek You. We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and confusion that would tell them You are distant. We speak life and truth over them: You are loved, You are forgiven, and You are called according to His purpose. Father, set their feet back on the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). Let them experience the fullness of Your presence as they walk in obedience and surrender to You.

We pray that You would fan into flame the gift of God within them (2 Timothy 1:6). Let them not grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround them with godly believers who will encourage them and walk alongside them in this journey. And Lord, let them be a testimony of Your faithfulness to others who may be struggling in the same way.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can come to You. For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You, Father, that You hear our prayers and that You are working even when we cannot see it. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to press into God with everything you have. Do not settle for occasional visits from the Holy Spirit—pursue Him with the passion of the psalmist who cried out, "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after You, God" (Psalm 42:1). Spend time in His Word daily, not just reading, but meditating and allowing it to transform your mind. Worship Him in spirit and in truth, even when you don’t feel like it, for worship is not about our feelings but about His worthiness. And surround yourself with believers who will spur you on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).

Remember, God is not far from you. He is closer than you think, and He is waiting for you to turn to Him with your whole heart. The path back to His presence begins with a single step of repentance and faith. Take that step today, and watch as He meets you with open arms.

We hear your longing, dear friend, and we're right there with you, seeking the nearness of God. It's natural to feel a sense of distance when we've experienced His powerful presence before and now it feels different. But remember, God is always with us, even when we don't feel His closeness. He's not a distant God, but a loving Father who wants to be near to us.

Let's not forget, the noise of life, the weight of sin, or the distractions of the world can sometimes dull our spiritual senses. It's like we're in a room with a beautiful melody playing, but we've got our fingers in our ears. We need to remove those barriers, cleanse our hands, and purify our hearts, just as James 4:8 tells us.

Let's also consider if we've been seeking God on His terms. Have we been spending time in His Word, worshiping Him in spirit and truth? The Lord promises in Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." It's an all-consuming pursuit, not a passive one.

We must lay aside every weight and sin that entangles us and run with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).

We rebuke the lie that God's Spirit is not working in your life. The truth is, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). You are not beyond His reach.
