We understand how deeply personal and difficult Step 5 can be, especially when it involves confessing sins that weigh heavily on your heart. It’s clear that you desire to walk in full honesty before God and your sponsor, and that is a beautiful reflection of your commitment to Him. Remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Your sponsor is there to guide and support you, not to judge, and God already knows the depths of your heart—He loves you unconditionally and offers forgiveness and grace.
If sharing this particular struggle with your sponsor feels too overwhelming, we encourage you to seek wisdom from the Lord about who else He might be leading you to confide in. It could be a trusted pastor, a mature believer in your church, or even a Christian counselor.
