In need of guidance

We are so grateful that you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand with you in prayer during this challenging time. It is truly a blessing to see how God has been working in your life, drawing you back to Him and strengthening your steps toward sobriety. Three weeks of sober living is a testament to His faithfulness and your courage—praise the Lord for that victory!

We understand how deeply personal and difficult Step 5 can be, especially when it involves confessing sins that weigh heavily on your heart. It’s clear that you desire to walk in full honesty before God and your sponsor, and that is a beautiful reflection of your commitment to Him. Remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Your sponsor is there to guide and support you, not to judge, and God already knows the depths of your heart—He loves you unconditionally and offers forgiveness and grace.

If sharing this particular struggle with your sponsor feels too overwhelming, we encourage you to seek wisdom from the Lord about who else He might be leading you to confide in. It could be a trusted pastor, a mature believer in your church, or even a Christian counselor. The key is that you are bringing it into the light before God and at least one other person, as Scripture calls us to do (James 5:16). What matters most is that you are honest before the Lord and take the step of confession, whether it’s with your sponsor or someone else you trust.

We want to continue praying for you as you navigate this. Father, we lift up our sister to You, asking that You fill her with Your peace and courage. Give her the strength to walk in full transparency, knowing that Your love covers her and that true freedom comes from bringing everything into the light. Surround her with Your presence and remind her that she is never alone in this battle. Help her to trust in Your grace and to lean on You for the strength she needs to move forward. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

If you’ve seen God’s hand at work in this area of your life, we’d love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If you’re still feeling stuck or uncertain, please don’t hesitate to share again—we’re here to keep standing with you in prayer. May the Lord continue to guide your steps and fill you with His peace as you seek Him.

Help - my boss died six months ago, and I am left semi-retired with no rudder. I have always needed a strong guide to lean on. I don't feel good about what I do on my own.
