In Eternally life The Lord

Beloved of All
When it comes to remembering people, the right to remember, and its impact—if their involvement were removed from my relationship with God, would I still believe in Him? ### has asked for involvement: a cry for help—calling upon a mother and for aid (Mother, Jesus Christ, God, the Holy Spirit, angels)—as well as acting as a servant to my mother who is in need of help—AMEN AMEN.

We hear your cry and we join with you in seeking the Lord on this deep question you have brought before Him. You ask, if the involvement and memory of other people were removed from your relationship with God, would you still believe in Him, and that is a question that tests the foundation of faith itself. We must examine ourselves to see that our faith is not built on people, memories, or experiences with others, but on Jesus Christ alone.

The Scriptures teach us that our relationship with God must be first and foremost, and that He alone is to be the object of our faith and worship. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind, Matthew 22:37. And again, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. Our faith must remain even if every human support were removed, because He has promised, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you, Hebrews 13:5. If our belief depends on remembering people or on their involvement, then it is fragile, but if it depends on Christ who died and rose again, it will endure, for we know that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord, Romans 8:38-39.

We also want to lovingly correct and rebuke what is not aligned with Scripture in your cry for help. You mentioned calling upon a mother and upon angels along with Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit. We understand the heart behind this, especially your desire to honor and serve your mother who is in need, which is good and pleasing to God, for the commandment says, Honor your father and mother, Exodus 20:12, and again, Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise, Ephesians 6:2. To serve your mother as a servant in her need is Christlike love and we commend this.

But we must not pray to a mother, whether earthly or to Mary, nor to angels, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5. You shall have no other gods before me, Exodus 20:3. Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve, but they are not to be prayed to or worshiped. We have confidence to approach God directly only through Jesus, for we are told, Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need, Hebrews 4:16. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by that name we are saved, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you did call upon Jesus Christ, and we urge you to direct all your prayers to God the Father through Jesus Christ alone, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Concerning remembering people and the right to remember, God Himself remembers His children with everlasting love. He says, Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb. Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, Isaiah 49:15-16. We are free to remember people with love and thanksgiving, but we must not let their memory become an idol that replaces God, nor hold onto memories with bitterness or unforgiveness. We are to bear with one another and forgive as Christ forgave us. And concerning eternal life, Jesus said, This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ, John 17:3. Eternal life is knowing Him personally, not through the involvement of others.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You have placed this deep question on their heart about whether their faith would stand without the involvement of others, and we ask You to root and ground them in Christ alone. Establish their faith on the rock that cannot be shaken. Help them to remember people with grace and truth, to forgive where needed, to honor where due, and to release any memory that has become a burden or an idol. We pray for their mother who is in need of help, Lord, give them strength, wisdom, patience, and love as they serve her, and provide for her needs according to Your riches. Correct any confusion about prayer, Lord, and draw them to pray to You alone through Jesus, not to any mother or to angels, but to You who hears and answers. Give them assurance of eternal life through faith in Jesus, that they may know that he who has the Son has the life, 1 John 5:12, and that they may believe with a faith that endures whether people remain or are removed. Let Your Holy Spirit comfort them, teach them, and keep them in Your love. We ask all this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We have been sitting with your honest questions, and we appreciate how carefully you are thinking about your faith.

Wondering whether you would still believe if other people were not part of the picture is a weighty and actually healthy question. It shows you want a faith that is truly your own before the Lord, not just something carried by others' memories or expectations. That kind of reflection takes courage, and God is not threatened by it.

We also hear both parts of your heart cry in this season, reaching out for help for yourself, and wanting to serve your mother well as she needs care. Carrying both at once can be exhausting, and it is understandable to feel stretched thin.

One gentle next step that may help is to bring these two areas to one trusted person in your local church family. You could share the question you are wrestling with about your own relationship with God, and also name one practical need in caring for your mother where you could use support. We were not meant to walk alone, and the church is given to be a place of steady encouragement and practical help as the Holy Spirit sustains us.

Father, we lift this dear one to You. You see the questions about remembrance and belief, and You see the love and weariness in caring for a mother. Draw near with Your peace, give clarity and wisdom for each day, and provide faithful people to walk alongside. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your words carry a solemn and searching question which every soul should ask, if their involvement were removed from my relationship with God, would I still believe in Him. That inquiry tests whether your faith stands upon the living Christ Himself or upon the props and persons around you.

Scripture teaches that without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. True faith is trust in the living Jesus who is able to save unto the uttermost them that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them. It is not a general hope, nor a trust in many mediators, but a simple reliance upon Christ only and alone. We believe in one God and in one Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. To Him alone we are to declare our ways, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins if we confess them to Him, and His blood cleanses us from all sin.

You speak of a cry for help calling upon a mother and upon angels as well as upon the Lord. Let me gently and faithfully direct you to what the Word of God reveals, that salvation is finished and all is of Christ and all is free, and our faith is to be in Jesus Christ and in Him alone. He says, Him that comes to Me I will in no wise cast out. Therefore come directly to Him, just as you are, and pour out your heart before Him. He hears the cry for help and by His Word He still casts out the evil and heals the broken. To seek aid through any other name or to divide your trust among many is to leave the sure foundation. Take Christ only and alone, for He performs all things for you and will not fail you.

The desire to remember others rightly and to serve your mother in her need is a good and tender thing. To honour a mother and to act as a servant to help her in her straits is pleasing to the Lord when it is done as service unto Christ. Yet even this service must flow from faith in Him, not become the ground of faith. Handle the matter wisely by trusting God, both in Providence as well as in Grace. Cry unto God Most High, unto God that performs all things for you, and ask Him to carry your work and your care. If you are living in such a way that you cannot ask God to bless and to carry it, then it is not fit to be continued, but what you can commit to His hands, leave there.

Consider then whether your faith bears its natural and inevitable fruit, which is holiness. Faith which saves will by the power of the Spirit work within you to make you clean and to keep you near to Christ. Pray with the Psalmist, I have declared my ways and You heard me, teach me Your statutes. Ask Him to teach you to repent, to believe, to pray, and to watch against temptation. Rely upon Him not only for your soul but for your daily shop and household, for faith is as much the rule of temporal as of spiritual life.

May the Lord grant you grace to rest wholly upon Christ, so that though every human help were removed, you could still say, my faith is in Jesus Christ and in Him alone, and I am not afraid to live nor afraid to die, for my soul is in His hands. May He teach you His way, establish your heart in His truth, and enable you to serve your mother faithfully for His glory, looking always to Jesus.

We will pray for you, that God would deepen your faith, that He would draw you into closer converse with Himself through Christ alone, that He would give you wisdom to remember others with a pure heart, and that He would supply strength for the service He has placed before you, and bring you to that peace which comes from being justified by faith.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have brought a searching question before the Lord, and it is a good and necessary one to ask: if every human support and memory were taken away, would faith in God remain. That question tests where the foundation lies. Faith is a great good, and when we fall into perplexity it is faith that delivers us, even when our condition seems desperate and there is no way forward. The Scriptures show that God can make a way where there is no way, but that deliverance comes to those who trust Him Himself, not to those who trust only in the people around Him.

If faith depends chiefly on the involvement or remembrance of other people, it will waver when they are absent or when memory fades. True faith draws near with a true heart and full assurance, not because we see people or circumstances, but because we trust the invisible God who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ. Love and peace are real only with faith, and without faith love itself comes to nothing. So let this be your prayer, that your confidence would rest on Christ alone, that you would still believe and stand even if every human prop were removed, because Christ Himself is enough.

You also mention a cry for help calling upon mother, Jesus Christ, God, the Holy Spirit, and angels, and a desire to serve your mother who is in need. It is right and honoring to God to care for your mother and to serve her in her need. When the Lord was departing, He committed His own mother to the beloved disciple to be cared for, teaching us to pay more than ordinary respect to our mothers, because they bore and raised us and endured many hardships for us. To serve your mother in love, with meekness and goodness, is to walk in the narrow way, carrying the kind of burden that can be carried through it, and virtue's yoke in that way is sweet and light, while the burdens of sin are heavy and full of anxiety and disturbance.

Yet in your cry for help, remember that salvation and access to God come through Jesus Christ alone. We pray to God the Father through the Son by the Holy Spirit. Angels are servants of God, and even a mother, however honored and loved, is not to be called upon as a mediator or source of divine help in place of Christ. Honor your mother, love her, serve her, but direct your prayer to God Himself, who alone hears and saves.

We pray for you now that God would strengthen your faith to stand on Christ alone, that He would give you wisdom and strength as you remember others rightly without making them the ground of your faith, and that He would give you grace to continue serving your mother with love and patience. May He keep you from bearing a needless load of anxiety, and may He teach you to bear the good burdens of love, mercy, and faithfulness, which draw you nearer to Him and to others in a holy way. May the Lord establish you in love with faith, and keep you in His peace.
