Disciple of Prayer
Dear lord, my name is ###. I got a job interview today. If I get this job I'm going to be closer to my job and my church if I stay on this side of town. I was going to go into the shelter so my wife can't call the police on me and have me arrested. And if she decide to bring the other man to our house like she did Thursday night I want be home. I don't know what to do. If I stay here then I will be closer to my job if I get it. Then I have to worry about my wife calling thr police on me and her bringing this other man to the house. If I decide to stay. I pray that thst doesn't happen. I'm going to talk to my ### tomorrow to see if I can stay with any members of the church temporarily. I want to stay in this ward. I was told that something special is about to happen to me. I dont know what. I ask that you reveal whats going to happen to me. I ask that you help make a important decision should I go into the shelter, stay or go stay with one of my church members if I'm offered. I ask that you decide for me in Jesus name. I was told I need to work on attitude and my anger I don't think I need to but you do. I ask that you work on my attitude and anger for me. Or help me work them in Jesus name amen.

We hear the deep distress and confusion in your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens to the Lord. First, we must address the seriousness of the situation with your marriage. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, and adultery, including bringing another man into your home, is a grievous sin. Jesus said, "Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery" (Matthew 19:9 WEB). Your wife’s actions are not only breaking your marriage vows but also dishonoring God’s design for marriage.

We must also rebuke the spirit of anger and bitterness that has taken root in your heart. Scripture warns, "For anger rests in the bosom of fools" (Ecclesiastes 7:9 WEB) and "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice" (Ephesians 4:31 WEB). You may not see the need to change, but the Lord does, and His ways are higher than ours. Surrendering your anger to Him is not weakness, it is wisdom and obedience.

Now, regarding your immediate decisions, we pray that the Lord would make your paths straight and give you clarity. The job interview is an opportunity, but your safety and spiritual well-being must come first. If staying in your home puts you in danger, whether from false accusations, temptation to sin, or further betrayal, then the Lord may be leading you to a temporary place of refuge. We are encouraged that you are seeking help from your church family; this is a godly step. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB).

You mentioned being told that something special is about to happen. While we do not know the specifics, we trust that the Lord has a plan for you, even in this storm. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). But we must caution you: do not seek signs or special revelations outside of God’s Word. The Bible is sufficient for every decision and direction in your life. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105 WEB).

We also must address the mention of your wife calling the police. If there is no legitimate threat or harm, false accusations are sinful and can escalate conflict. However, if you are in danger of losing control or acting in anger, removing yourself from the situation is wise. "A man’s wisdom makes his face shine, and the hardness of his face is changed" (Ecclesiastes 8:1 WEB). Seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted elder in your church, they can help mediate and provide biblical guidance.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting his heart and his decisions to You. Lord, You see the pain, the confusion, and the anger he is carrying. We ask that You would break the chains of bitterness and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we pray for his marriage, that You would either restore it according to Your will or give him the strength to walk in obedience if restoration is not possible. Protect him from false accusations and guide him to wise counsel.

Lord, we ask for clarity regarding his living situation. If it is Your will for him to stay with a church member, provide that opportunity. If it is Your will for him to seek temporary shelter, open that door. Above all, keep him close to You, that he would not lean on his own understanding but trust in You with all his heart.

Father, we also pray for his job interview. If this position is Your provision, grant him favor. If not, close the door and open another that is better aligned with Your plan. Work in his heart, Lord, softening it to receive Your correction regarding his attitude and anger. Help him to see himself as You see him and to surrender his emotions to You.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come to You, the only name by which we are saved. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, even when we are faithless. We trust You to lead, provide, and protect. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly through prayer and Scripture. Spend time in the Word, especially in the Psalms, where David poured out his heart to God in times of distress. Consider fasting as you seek direction, it is a powerful way to humble yourself before the Lord and hear His voice. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33 WEB).

Lastly, do not neglect the support of your church family. Isolation can lead to despair, but fellowship with believers brings strength and encouragement. "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25 WEB). You are not alone in this battle, the Lord is with you, and so are we.

We're praying with you through all of this, a job interview, a home situation that feels unsafe and unpredictable, and weighty decisions about where to stay. That's a lot for anyone to hold at once, and we're glad you named it.

Talking with your tomorrow is a wise, concrete next step. A temporary place with church members could give you some breathing room while keeping you near the congregation and the job if it comes through. That feels far more stabilizing than the shelter, and we'll ask God to make a way. The shelter is there as a fallback, but it's understandable you'd rather avoid it if there is another option.

The comment about your attitude and anger caught our ear, too, not to lecture, but because it takes real humility to bring that before God even when you don't fully agree with the assessment. Anger is often a secondary emotion; underneath it can be deep hurt, frustration at losing control, or fear about the future. We can pray not just for the surface feeling to be smoothed over, but for God to help you see what's driving it and to gently untangle those roots. That kind of honest searching can be part of the “something special” you sense coming.

As you move forward, let the safety and stability of where you stay be the immediate priority. God sees your desire to remain in the ward, to be close to your church, and to walk through this with integrity. We're asking him to make your path plain.

Jesus, we bring our brother to you. Give him discernment as he weighs these housing options. Open a door with a church member so he can have a secure, peaceful place to stay. Guide the job interview and the outcome, if this work is from you, let him receive it with favor. Protect him from false accusations and from painful confrontations. Quiet his heart, heal the hurt under the anger, and lead him steadily into the good you have ahead. We trust you for each step. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The Lord will not show you a roadmap of tomorrow when He has already given you Himself for today. The cry "reveal what's going to happen to me" must yield to a better plea: "My God, You shall guide me with Your counsel." He guides by the general directions of His Word and by principles infused in the heart, self-denial, humility, acquiescence in the Divine will. Haste is the author of much mischief. Wait upon the Lord for guidance, declaring your ways to Him as a man alone with God, for He is most easy of access.

You say you do not need work on your attitude and anger, but you ask God to do it for you. This is a contradiction born of pride. Remember that where God begins to work, He does not ask us to finish. He always completes His own work. Yet He uses means, and the first means is your honest confession. Declare your ways to Him, hide nothing. A Christian has no right to be always questioning, "Am I His, or am I not?" Deal with God as you would have your children deal with you. If He says He will save and keep those who trust Him, then trust Him, and He will do it. The Grace of God dethrones obstinacy and gives, in its place, submission to the Divine will.

The decision before you, shelter, staying, or church members, is not the deepest matter. The deepest matter is taking hold of God Himself. Those at enmity with God cannot and will not take hold of Him. But you are not at enmity; you are His. He pleads the cause of His servants. He touches human hearts and makes them friendly to His own people. Your safety lies in your Savior. Look to Him who is able to keep you from falling. If your wife brings another man, or calls the police, God is not absent from you. The godly in their anguish turn to the hand which smites them. Cry out, "My God, my God," not against Him but to Him.

Moses chose affliction with the people of God. He refused the ease of the palace. He was content to be numbered with the down-trodden. That choice came by faith, faith that knew the one true God and would have no fellowship with idols. You must labor for the Lord in whom you are trusting, and if you seek shelter, do so not merely to avoid trouble but to honor Him. If your wife brings this man to your house, it does not dethrone Christ. The sister Graces ever live together, faith and love. No man can truly trust God who does not love Him. And love will lead you to act, not in anger, but in the quiet strength of one who knows God has heard.

The great danger is not the police or the other man, it is falling. We know a true child of God cannot fall finally, but some fall foully to their own grief and their Lord’s dishonor. Therefore present your body a living sacrifice. That includes your anger. It is God that justifies; who is he that condemns? If God has given you Christ, He will freely give you all things, a place to stay, grace for your temper, wisdom for each step. Do not lower God’s Law because you cannot come up to it. Instead, take hold of His strength. He does not ask you to finish; He completes His work.

The something special about to happen may be the ordinary miracle of a sinner kept by grace, guided through narrow straits, made more like Christ through suffering. That is enough. Trust in the blood of Jesus and you will know you received it from Headquarters, there can be no mistake. God is with you. Now deal with Him as a child with a father, and rise from your knees to walk in the path He opens, firm for His truth, in whose company you shall be safe though the earth give way.

The trial you now endure, though bitter, is not beyond the healing hand of God if you receive it with thanksgiving. The loss of peace in your home, the threat of false accusation, the betrayal of your wife, these are waves beating against your soul. But remember, it is not the one who suffers the evil who is harmed, but the one who does the evil. When you give thanks to God in the midst of this storm, the evil begins to work for your good, shaping a stedfastness that no flood can sweep away.

Concerning your wife’s actions, you must not let resentment fester into wrath. You say you do not need to work on your anger, but the very trial reveals the pride from which it springs. A humble heart receives reproof, even from enemies. If Christ bore with those who counseled Him wrongly, shall dust and ashes refuse to examine himself? Your anger, left unconquered, will destroy you far more than any false accusation. Do not say, “I am wronged, therefore I rage.” Say rather, “Blessed be the name of the Lord,” and let the injustice drive you closer to Him who sees all.

Do not be quick to speak against your wife, not even to us, unless with witnesses and a desire for healing. To accuse her to others only multiplies your own wounds. If you must seek safety from immediate harm, do so without hatred, as one who flees a fire, not as one who returns stones. A temporary shelter among brothers in the faith, if offered with wisdom and not as a lasting division, may be a refuge while you both cool from the heat of passion. Yet let your aim be the peace of your household, not a permanent escape. What God has joined, let no man tear apart through bitterness or impatience.

The “something special” you await is already unfolding: this affliction is the very means by which your soul may be freed from the tyranny of anger and pride. To be delivered from anxiety, from plotting, from the fear of false accusation, this is the reward of virtue even in this life. If you will build your life on the rock of Christ’s commands, forgiving as you have been forgiven, returning good for evil, then neither slander nor betrayal shall overthrow your peace. The world may hate you for doing right, but the soul founded on that rock stands firm.

Go to your interview with diligence, but trust not in any earthly job to secure your joy. If you obtain it, give thanks; if not, give thanks still. Place yourself in the hands of the church elders, not for perpetual shelter, but for counsel and prayer that you may be restored to your wife in godly sorrow and renewed love. Reprove your own heart first, lest you offer the sacrifice of prayer with hands full of resentment. Then, whatever the Lord permits, you will be able to say with the apostle: in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

You are standing in the middle of a storm right now, and the confusion you feel is not evidence that you have done something terribly wrong to deserve it. Suffering often comes to people who are doing their best to walk uprightly, and the trial itself can feel like a heavy weight of sand pressing down. You’re trying to make decisions while your heart is aching, and the path ahead looks unclear. That weight is real, but it doesn’t mean God has abandoned you or that this is all punishment for some hidden sin.

The urge to find shelter where you can avoid conflict with your wife and keep your future job close is understandable. You need safety and a clear head. Staying in the same house while another man is brought into it and police threats hang over you will only keep you in a pressure cooker that feeds anger and fear. That’s not a failure of faith; it’s wisdom to step out of a situation that keeps triggering turmoil. If the church family can offer you a temporary place, that might give you the breathing room to stabilize. Accepting help is not weakness. Your desire to stay in the ward is not wrong, but don’t let location become a cage when God may be providing an escape from a daily battle you can’t sustain in your own strength.

About that word that something special is about to happen. I understand the hope that stirs. Yet God rarely lays out the blueprint of our future before we walk through the present pain. Even a righteous man can sit in ashes, crying out for an answer that doesn’t come in words, and only later see that God was working behind the scenes in ways he never imagined. The special thing might be God quietly making you sturdy through this very testing, building a patience you didn’t know you had. The revelation you need most right now is not a sneak peek of tomorrow, but a deeper sight of the One who holds tomorrow. He often speaks through circumstances and through our waiting, not through a headline of what’s next.

You asked God to decide for you. He will guide you as you take the step that seems most loving and most prudent right now. You have several options; none of them are evil. You won’t miss His will by taking shelter with a trustworthy brother for a season while you continue to work and pray. He led people into wilderness places to preserve them before a greater blessing came. That might be what this shelter or shared housing is, a temporary wilderness of safety where He can tend to your heart.

And that brings up what you said about your attitude and anger. You don’t think you need work there, yet your request shows you sense it’s not all right. That’s okay. Even the most upright man can find that suffering uncovers sharp edges he didn’t know he had. Job never cursed God, but when God finally spoke, Job saw himself more clearly and repented in dust and ashes. God doesn’t expect you to fix yourself. He asks you to bring those raw edges honestly to Him. Tell Him, “I don’t see what others see, but if there is anger and pride hiding in me, show me. Soften what is hard.” That’s a dangerous prayer, but a holy one. He will answer it, not necessarily by removing the difficult people, but by reshaping you in their presence or giving you grace to step away without sin.

Remember, there is a Mediator between God and man, One who laid His hand on both. Jesus knows what it is to be falsely accused, to be abandoned by those who should have stood by Him, and to face an uncertain earthly future. He doesn’t despise your confusion. He stands ready to give wisdom when you ask, not always by shouting from heaven, but by guiding your thoughts and surrounding you with sound counsel. Lean on the few trusted people who don’t just lecture you but truly see you. Not every comforter helps; some only add to the misery with easy formulas. Listen to those who point you to the character of God rather than quick fixes.

You are not a hypocrite because your life is fractured. The One who bragged on His servant is also watching you, not looking for a reason to strike, but for a heart that will hold fast even when the reasons are hidden. Hold fast. The outcome is in His hands, and He has never yet failed to finish the work He started in a trusting heart.
