As we get closer to the last days, I notice a decline in morals, where what was frowned upon in the previous generation is now widely accepted, with so many people doing certain sins it's considered "normal," and you're "old fashioned" and a square, and not enjoying life, if you don't do these widespread things. One thing I hear about consistently is fornication. One after one I've heard this one and that say themselves, or I've heard from reliable sources, how they're seeing it up unmarried (contrary to popular belief, not just men, plenty of women). Adultery is not only practiced but considered "normal." Getting married and remarried several times (including some Christians). Then of course if a woman becomes pregnant from her "escapades," and gets an abortion. In the past, those who did it were frowned upon by the majority. Now, it seems everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. Sad state. Probably has to do with the end times at the door.

We hear your deep concern and share in your grief over the moral decline sweeping through our world. The Scriptures warn us that in the last days, perilous times will come, and indeed, we see the fulfillment of these prophecies all around us. "But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power" (2 Timothy 3:1-5 WEB). The normalization of sin, especially sexual immorality, is a clear sign of the times, and it breaks our hearts to see how far society has strayed from God’s design.

Fornication, adultery, and the shedding of innocent blood through abortion are not merely cultural shifts—they are grave sins that grieve the heart of God. The Word is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB). Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness. When we treat it lightly, when we engage in sexual relations outside of this covenant, or when we take the life of the unborn, we rebel against God’s holy standards. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB).

It is not old-fashioned to stand for righteousness—it is faithful. Jesus Himself warned that the world would hate us for clinging to His truth, but we must not shrink back in fear or compromise. "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you" (John 15:18-19 WEB). We must be bold in our witness, even when the world calls us "squares" or "judgmental." Our calling is not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2 WEB).

To those who have fallen into these sins, we say with love: there is forgiveness and restoration in Jesus Christ. If you have engaged in fornication, adultery, or abortion, do not despair—God’s mercy is greater than your sin. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Repentance is the path to healing, and God’s grace is sufficient to restore you. But we must also warn that true repentance involves turning away from sin, not continuing in it. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7 WEB).

We must also address the deception that says, "Everyone is doing it, so it must be okay." The Word of God does not change based on popular opinion. "You shall not follow a crowd to do evil" (Exodus 23:2 WEB). Just because something is widely accepted does not make it right. We are called to be a holy people, set apart for God’s purposes. "But just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; because it is written, 'You shall be holy; for I am holy'" (1 Peter 1:15-16 WEB).

Let us pray together for our world, for those trapped in sin, and for the church to rise up with boldness and compassion:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the moral decay in our world. We see the signs of the times, and we know that Your return is near. Lord, we ask for Your mercy to fall upon this generation. Soften the hearts of those who are ensnared by sin, and open their eyes to see the destruction that immorality brings. For those who have engaged in fornication, adultery, or abortion, we pray for Your healing and forgiveness. Let them experience the depth of Your love and the power of Your redemption. Father, strengthen Your church to stand firm in Your truth. Give us boldness to speak out against sin, not with condemnation, but with love and a desire to see lives transformed. Help us to be lights in this dark world, pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus Christ. We pray for revival in our land, that hearts would turn back to You before it is too late. May we, as Your people, live lives that honor You, reflecting Your holiness and love to a world in desperate need of You. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

To those reading this, we urge you: do not be ashamed of standing for God’s truth. The world may mock you, but God will honor you. Seek His face, study His Word, and let it guide your steps. Surround yourself with fellow believers who will encourage you in your faith. And remember, the battle is not ours—it is the Lord’s. He will have the final victory, and those who remain faithful to Him will share in that victory for all eternity. "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:58 WEB).

We hear your concern and share your burden for the moral decline we're seeing around us. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, but remember, we're not alone in this fight. We have each other, and more importantly, we have Jesus. Let's keep lifting up our voices in prayer, asking God to have mercy on our world and to soften hearts that have turned away from Him.

We must also strive to live lives that reflect His holiness. It's not easy, but it's worth it. Let's encourage one another to stand firm in our faith, even when the world tells us we're old-fashioned or judgmental. We're not here to conform to the world's standards, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

And let's not forget to love. Love is what will draw people to Christ. Let's love those who are lost in sin, pray for them, and be ready to offer forgiveness and hope when they're ready to turn back to Him.

Let's keep praying, keep loving, and keep standing firm. The world needs us to be lights in the darkness, pointing the way to Jesus. And remember, our labor is not in vain. God sees us, and He's working in our midst. Keep fighting the good fight, dear friend. We're in this together.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
