Bring a supernatural calm over his spirit, and let him feel Your presence wrapping around him right now. Grant him rest from the exhaustion of this battle. We ask for a swift turnaround in his care. Guide the hands, minds, and hearts of the doctors and specialists treating him. Give them immediate discernment to find the exact right medications and treatments to bring him relief, healing, and restoration. Give me the strength, endurance, and peace to stand by him. We join you right now in crying out to the Lord Jesus for your precious son and we thank you for bringing his suffering so honestly before the throne of grace. We hear the agony in your prayer as you watch him battle severe psychosis, confusion and exhaustion, and we stand with you to ask the Lord to step into that hospital room at this very moment.

We are reminded of how near our God is to those who suffer in this way. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. And we cling to the promise that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The enemy would bring chaos, fear and distressing voices, but Jesus Christ has authority over all of it and His peace is able to guard the mind and heart in a way that surpasses all understanding.

We also take comfort that the Lord invites both you and your son to come to Him for rest. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

Together we pray. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach You and be saved. Lord Jesus, You see this beloved son right now, You know every thought, every fear, every voice that torments him, and You see his exhaustion. We ask You to enter that hospital room, to lay Your hand upon his mind and body and to rebuke the chaos, fear and confusion that oppresses him. Shield him from all harm, silence what is not of You, and wrap him in Your supernatural calm. Let him feel Your presence holding him right now, let Your peace guard his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus, and grant him deep, healing rest. We pray for a swift turnaround in his care. Guide the hands, minds and hearts of every doctor, nurse and specialist treating him. Give them immediate discernment and wisdom to find the exact right medications and treatments that will bring him relief, clarity, healing and restoration. Strengthen his body as well as his mind. And Father, we lift up this dear parent who is standing vigil. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Pour out Your strength, endurance and peace that surpasses understanding upon this parent, sustain them hour by hour, and remind them that You hold their son completely in Your merciful and powerful hands. We place him fully in Your care, trusting in Your power to heal and restore. In the holy and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to lean on Jesus moment by moment and to allow the medical team to do the work God has equipped them to do, for the Lord often brings healing through their skill and discernment. Keep bringing every anxious thought to Him with thanksgiving, keep resting in His nearness even when the room feels chaotic, and let others in the body of Christ help bear this burden with you so you are not standing alone. We are continuing to hold you and your son before the Lord, trusting that the One who is near to the brokenhearted will bring calm to his mind, rest to his body, and strength to you as you stand by him.

We are holding you and your son in prayer as you walk through this frightening time in the hospital. We hear how deeply you love him, how heavy this battle with psychosis has been, and how exhausted you must feel standing by his bedside and crying out for relief.

It is good he is getting care where staff can keep him safe and monitor him closely. Psychosis can be so disorienting and distressing for everyone who loves the person, and staying close to his treatment team is the best way to support him right now.

In these long hospital days, it helps to have a couple of steady supports for you as well. If you can, ask the nurses or social worker how you will get regular updates on his care plan, and bring one trusted family member, friend or pastor with you when you talk with the doctors so you have another set of ears. Try to take brief breaks for rest, food and fresh air, and let someone else sit with him for a short time so you can keep your strength.

Jesus, we lift this parent and this dear son to You. Wrap him in Your calm and protection in that hospital room, quiet his fear and confusion, and give him rest. Guide the doctors and nurses with clear wisdom as they seek the right treatment for him, and sustain his parent with Your peace and endurance for each hour ahead. We place them both in Your caring hands. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your earnest cry for your son has been heard and we join you at the throne of grace on his behalf in this hour of deep affliction. The Lord sees him in that hospital room, He knows the confusion and the heavy battle within his mind, the exhaustion and the distressing voices that torment him, and He is not distant from his suffering.

For the troubled child of God there is this comfort to remember, that not a drop of judicial anger is in the cup of affliction for those who are in Christ Jesus, and though His waves go over us, they are still His waves, measured by His hand and bounded by His mercy. He is the One who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and He is able to command a calm where there is chaos and fear. True peace is not a false and fleeting quiet that leaves the heart still troubled, but that perfect peace which keeps the heart and mind through Christ Jesus, the peace that comes when we trust Him and do His will.

Let us pray together for him and for you.

O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou great Physician of both soul and body, look in mercy upon this dear son in his hospital bed. Step into his room, into his mind and into his heart at this very moment. Rebuke the chaos and fear, silence the distressing voices, and set a guard about him that no harm shall come to him. Speak Thy word of peace over his spirit and let him feel Thy presence wrapping around him. Grant him rest from this exhausting battle and give him sleep and calm that can only come from Thy hand.

We ask Thee to guide the hands and minds and hearts of the doctors and all who care for him. Give them immediate discernment and wisdom to find the right treatments and medications to bring relief and restoration, and use these means according to Thy good providence for his healing. We pray for a swift turnaround in his care, yet we submit all to Thy perfect will and timing.

And for this burdened parent who stands by him, Lord, fulfill Thy promise, I will strengthen them in the Lord. Where the leap seems too wide and strength fails, teach this weary heart to breathe a prayer for more strength and to find it in Thee. Thou hast the key of faith and canst open its chambers and fill them with Thy treasures. Grant endurance for each day, peace that will keep the heart from fainting, and a fixed heart trusting in the Lord. Help this one to cast the whole burden upon Thee, for salvation and keeping are of the Lord alone, and Thou livest to pray for Thy people.

We place him completely in Thy hands, trusting not in our own strength but in Thy mercy and power to heal both mind and body. May he and those who love him know that to trust Thee with a personal faith is to find pardon and healing as one, for Thou hast borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.
