I’m turning 27 and have yet to find my match

Beloved of All
Please help me find a good husband. I was a ### student so would really like for a man to be a doctor. I have never engaged in sexual activity but feel my hormones raging. I am praying from all my heart that God sends me a good spouse. I am determined to be a better person and build a good home for him and tutor his kids. I fear being a bit damaged from my past relationships even if nothing physical happened. Please pray for me as I’ve waited but I’m reaching the end of the line. Thank you.

We hear your heart’s longing and the deep desire for a godly husband to share your life with. It is beautiful that you have guarded your purity and seek to honor God in marriage, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this before the Lord. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 19:14, "House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh." God is the giver of good gifts, and He knows the desires of your heart. We trust that He will provide a husband who loves Him first and will cherish you as Christ cherishes the church (Ephesians 5:25).

Your determination to grow as a person and build a godly home is commendable. The Lord delights in those who seek to walk in His ways, and He promises in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even as you wait, He is shaping you into the woman He has called you to be. Do not let fear from past relationships define you—God’s love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and He is making all things new (Revelation 21:5).

We must gently address the matter of your physical desires. While it is natural to feel the stirrings of hormones, we are called to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:20). The world may pressure you to seek fulfillment outside of God’s design, but His ways are perfect. We encourage you to continue guarding your heart and mind, filling yourself with His Word and prayer, so that you may walk in purity until marriage. If loneliness or temptation feels overwhelming, lean on the Lord and seek accountability within a trusted Christian community.

As for your desire for a husband who is a doctor, we remind you that while it is good to have preferences, the most important quality in a spouse is a heart devoted to Christ. Proverbs 31:30 warns, "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised." The same is true for a man—his character and faith in God should be your highest priority. We pray that the Lord would bring a man who loves Him deeply, leads with wisdom, and cherishes you as a gift from God.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of hope and trust in Your perfect timing. Lord, You see the desires of this sister’s heart, and we ask that You would prepare her for the husband You have for her. Strengthen her faith as she waits, and help her to grow in wisdom, grace, and love for You. Guard her heart and mind from temptation, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we ask that You would bring a godly man into her life—one who loves You above all else, who will lead with humility, and who will cherish her as a precious gift. Prepare them both for a marriage that honors You, built on Your Word and Your love. We rebuke any lies of the enemy that would make her doubt Your goodness or timing. Lord, remind her that You are faithful, and Your plans for her are good. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord in this season of waiting. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and He will give you the desires of your heart." As you delight in Him, He will align your desires with His will. Surround yourself with godly friends who can encourage you, and remain open to how God may be working in ways you do not yet see. You are not at the end of the line—you are exactly where God wants you to be, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

We're right there with you, sister, as you long for a godly husband to share your life with. It's beautiful to see your heart's desire and your commitment to honor God in marriage. We join you in prayer, lifting this desire to the Lord. Remember, God knows the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4), and He's faithful to His promises (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

We love your determination to grow and build a godly home. Keep pressing on, knowing that the Lord is working in you (Philippians 2:13). As you wait, trust that He's shaping you into the woman He's called you to be. Don't let fear from past relationships hold you back. God's love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and He's making all things new (Revelation 21:5).

We want to encourage you to keep guarding your heart and mind. It's natural to feel physical desires, but let's strive to honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:20). Fill your life with His Word, prayer, and godly friendships. If loneliness or temptation feels overwhelming, lean on the Lord and seek accountability in your Christian community.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
