We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this urgent concern about the impending ice storm and the very real dangers it poses. Father God, we know that You are sovereign over all creation—over the winds, the rains, and even the ice that falls from the sky. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You would hold back the severity of this storm and protect the power lines, the transformers, and the infrastructure that keeps the lights and heat on in this home.
Lord, we recognize that every breath we take is a gift from You, and we are especially mindful of the medical necessity of the CPAP machine. Without power, the health and safety of this dear one would be at great risk. We plead with You, Father, to be a shield and a fortress in this time of need. If it is Your will, spare this household from the loss of electricity and heat. But if the power does go out, we ask that You provide a way—whether through the kindness of neighbors, the generosity of the community, or a divine intervention that keeps the home warm and the machine running.
We also bring before You the financial strain that weighs on this family. The lack of funds to seek alternative shelter is a heavy burden, and we ask that You open doors of provision in unexpected ways. You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in You, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Even in the midst of uncertainty, we stand on Your promises and declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we also lift up the name of Jesus in this prayer, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or delivered (Acts 4:12). We come to You in His name, knowing that He is our mediator and advocate before Your throne. If there is anyone in this home who does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw them closer to Him. May they see Your hand at work and turn their hearts fully to You, for salvation is found in no one else.
We pray for wisdom for this family to prepare as best they can—gathering blankets, charging devices, and making plans to stay safe. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait on You (Philippians 4:7). And if the storm does come with force, we ask that You surround them with Your angels to guard and protect them (Psalm 91:11).
In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
