You have shared what you deeply desire and the path you are walking, and I want to respond with the kind of honesty that too often gets lost when we only look for others to agree with us. Many people say they want counsel, but in truth they are only hoping someone will confirm the very thing they have already decided to do. The Bible shows us that this is not a small danger; it is the seedbed of confusion and lasting sorrow.
There is a real confusion that settles in whenever we set aside God’s fixed design and start living by what seems right in our own eyes. That was the bitter condition of an entire nation in the book of Judges, and it is a picture of the chaos that comes when we lose a final word of authority. The world will offer you an endless chorus of voices telling you to follow your heart, to reshape your body and identity according to your inner sense. But heartfelt feelings, no matter how long they have been with you, cannot overturn the wise and loving boundaries the Creator established from the beginning. He made us male and female, and He called that union of body and soul very good, not a cage to escape but a gift to receive.
When men start removing those ancient landmarks, when they question the authority of God’s word and treat His design as negotiable, the result is never peace but deeper confusion. And it is striking how often people in Scripture who sought counsel never actually sought the counsel of the Lord. King Rehoboam asked the old men and the young men, but he never turned to God. He forsook the hard-won wisdom of those who understood sacrifice and service, and he took the easier path that would gratify his own will. That choice broke a kingdom. Our own best-laid plans often fail, but the counsel of the Lord stands forever.
So I must pray for you honestly, and I will pray that you would truly seek God's counsel rather than simply collecting human voices that say what you want to hear. A physical and mental transition as you described is not something I can ask God to bless, because His word shows a different path, one where our calling is not to reshape ourselves by willpower and surgery but to be transformed inwardly by the renewing of our minds in Christ. That is the only lasting transformation, and it begins when we stop fighting the person God made us to be.
I urge you to draw back from the voices, whether doctors, friends, or online communities, that only offer cozy confirmation, and to seek out believers who love you enough to speak what is genuinely profitable. Counsel in the heart is like deep water, and a person of understanding will draw it out. Find those who will point you not to your own feelings as the final authority but to the rock of God’s truth, even when it cuts against your plans. There is safety in a multitude of those kinds of counselors.
Please do not hear this as rejection. It is the sort of call that a true friend makes, like perfume that rejoices the heart, even when its fragrance first stings. I am praying that the Lord would clear away the fog of our confused age and give you a hunger for His word above every other influence. That is where your true name and your true beauty are already hidden, waiting to be found in Jesus Christ, who invites us to take up our cross daily, die to our own demanding selves, and discover a life we could never manufacture on our own.
