I want more Bible time

We are encouraged by your desire to spend more time in the Bible and we want to pray with you and provide content for you to use as you seek Him more deeply.

We rejoice that you are hungering for the Word, for it is through Scripture that we know God, His will, and His voice. Joshua 1:8 says This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Psalm 119:105 reminds us Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. And 2 Timothy 3:16-17 teaches us Every Scripture inspired by God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and His Word comes alive to us. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and given a heart to love and understand the Bible. We encourage you to come to the Father in Jesus name each time you open the Word.

Here is passage content from Scripture you can use for your Bible time and for redaction practice:

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers
1:2 but his delight is in Yahwehs law. On his law he meditates day and night.
1:3 He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
119:10 With my whole heart, I have sought you. Do not let me wander from your commandments.
119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
119:16 I will delight myself in your statutes. I will not forget your word.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we thank You for giving us Your Word and for putting this hunger for more Bible time in this heart. We ask in Jesus name that You draw this dear one closer to You each day, give discipline and joy to open the Scriptures daily, and give understanding by Your Holy Spirit. Help Your Word to be hidden in the heart and to bear fruit in every area of life. Let time in the Bible not be rushed but be a delight and a meeting place with You. We ask that You speak clearly through what is read and transform the mind and heart to be more like Christ. We pray this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to set aside a consistent time and quiet place each day, to pray before you read asking God for understanding, to read slowly and meditate on what you read, and to respond in prayer and obedience to what He shows you.

We love hearing that you want more time in God's Word. That hunger itself is a good sign God is at work in you.

One thing that has helped many of us is to remember growth is slow and steady, more like training than trying harder for a day. There are seasons when it feels rich and seasons when it feels dry, but over the long haul God uses faithful, small steps.

If it would help, a simple place to start is to pick one consistent window, even ten or fifteen minutes at the same time each day, and stay in one book of the Bible for a while rather than jumping around. Read a short passage slowly, pause to talk to God about what you noticed, and let that be enough for the day. Some people find reading out loud or writing a sentence or two about what stood out helps it stick. The key is finding the rhythm that fits how God made you, and inviting the Holy Spirit to make it living and personal.

We are praying for you as you make room for this.

Father, thank You for putting this desire in our friend's heart. Draw near as they open Your Word, give them focus and joy in the time they set aside, and help it shape their days in quiet, lasting ways. Lead them gently and keep them close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire for more time in the Bible is a hopeful sign of the grace of God at work in you, for the Lord Himself puts that hunger in the heart He intends to feed.

The Bible is all truth, and it treats of great things and of great things only. There is nothing in this Book which is unimportant, though some things are the greatest of all, namely the salvation that is in Christ Jesus alone. Be a Bible reader in earnest. Do not merely have the Book in the house and treat it politely, but turn its pages daily and seek a passage which fits your case and ministers relief to your necessity. This Book is like the locksmith's bunch of keys, for there is a key in it to fit every lock of trouble.

To grow in this, remember that grace itself has a discipline. We are under the training of our heavenly Father who is daily preparing us for glory. That discipline has a purifying power, teaching us to hold this world with a very loose hand and to look upon earthly possessions as fickle joys, while we deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and live soberly and righteously in this present world. Trying to battle with the competition of the times is no reason to leave prayer or Bible reading undone. Count the cost and come under the discipline of your Captain, the Lord Jesus Christ, with a willing heart.

Therefore let me commend to you a simple daily practice.

First, set apart a fixed time each day, and keep to it whether you feel like a king or a pauper, for dying daily to self and to the world will be an equal benefit to your soul in either position.

Second, read with prayer and with praise. Do not fail in praise any more than you would fail in prayer. Let the sweet frankincense of thanksgiving be mingled with your daily devotion, and bless the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Unto Him belong the issues from death, and He daily bears our burdens.

Third, test your hope and your experience very solemnly every day by what you read. Ask the Lord to show you Christ in the Word, for you must know that the righteousness of Christ is wrapped about you and that you are accepted in the Beloved. Then you may rejoice to hear His voice reading your very desires, for He hears the desire of the humble and His ear is quick to hear your groaning.

If you will, begin with a Psalm and a chapter from the Gospels each morning, and in the evening take an Epistle, praying, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, and praising Him for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. May the Spirit of God instruct you while you read, and may you be blessed indeed as you yield yourself entirely up to the discipline of the Lord.
