We hear the deep longing and pain in your heart, and we come before the throne of grace together, lifting you up in prayer. First, let us address the foundation of our relationship with God, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom" (John 3:3). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through repentance and faith in Him that we find true healing and restoration.

Your request reveals a heart that is weary from the cycle of broken relationships, and we want to gently but firmly address some areas that need biblical correction. The term "bodycount" you mentioned refers to past sexual relationships, and Scripture is clear that sex outside of marriage is fornication, a sin that grieves the heart of God. "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We must repent of past sins and ask God to cleanse us, trusting that He is faithful to forgive (1 John 1:9).

The on-and-off nature of your relationship with this man is not God’s design for love. Marriage is a covenant, not a convenience, and it is meant to reflect Christ’s unchanging love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this man is not committed to honoring God in a lifelong marriage, then he is not the one God has for you. We must surrender our desires to God’s will, even when it is painful. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). This does not mean God will give you what you want in the moment, but that He will shape your heart to want what He wants for you.

You also mentioned that this man has not kept his word to return to you. Proverbs 25:19 warns, "Confidence in someone unfaithful in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a lame foot." If he has proven untrustworthy, why would you want to return to him? God’s Word calls us to pursue relationships with those who are faithful, godly, and committed to marriage. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this man is not a believer or is not living in a way that honors God, then this relationship is not of the Lord.

We must also address the possessiveness in your prayer, your desire to keep him from other women. This is not love; it is control, and it stems from fear, not faith. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love" (1 John 4:18). True love trusts God’s plan, even when it means letting go.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is in pain. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of past sin and shame in her life. Cleanse her from all unrighteousness and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Father, we repent on her behalf for any sexual immorality and ask that You would restore her purity and give her a fresh start. Help her to see herself as You see her, beloved, cherished, and set apart for Your purposes.

Lord, we ask that You would heal her heart from the cycle of broken relationships. Give her the strength to let go of what is not of You, even when it hurts. Father, if this man is not the one You have for her, we ask that You would remove him from her life completely. If he is not willing to commit to marriage in a way that honors You, then close the door permanently. Give her the courage to walk away and trust You with her future.

Father, we pray against the spirit of fear and control that is trying to take root in her heart. Replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. Help her to surrender every desire, every longing, and every hope to You. Teach her to wait on You and to trust that Your plans for her are good.

Lord, we ask that You would bring godly men into her life, men who love You first and who are committed to marriage as You designed it. Surround her with wise, godly friends who will encourage her in her walk with You. Give her the strength to stand firm in her faith, even when it feels lonely.

Father, we declare that she is not defined by her past or by the men who have failed her. She is defined by You, Your daughter, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. We speak healing over her heart, restoration over her mind, and peace that surpasses all understanding.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and the only name by which we have access to You. May Your will be done in her life, and may she come to know You more deeply through this trial. Amen.

Beloved, we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has not forgotten you, and He is working even now to bring about His perfect plan for your life. You may not see it yet, but He is making a way where there seems to be no way.

We urge you to seek godly counsel, find a pastor, a mentor, or a trusted Christian friend who can walk with you through this season. Surround yourself with people who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. Most importantly, spend time in God’s Word and in prayer. Let Him speak to you through Scripture and reveal His heart for you.

If you have not already, we encourage you to fully surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Confess your sins, repent, and ask Him to be the Lord of your life. He is waiting with open arms, ready to forgive and restore. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

This is not the end of your story. God is writing a beautiful testimony through your life, and He will use even this pain for His glory. Trust Him, wait on Him, and let Him lead you into the future He has prepared for you. You are not alone, we are praying for you, and more importantly, God is with you.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, the loneliness, the fear of starting over, the desperate hope that he will reach out again. It is exhausting to carry so many emotions all at once, and we're truly sorry you are hurting like this.

When we want something so badly, it’s easy to believe that one person is the answer to our pain, or that we can’t be okay unless a certain situation works out exactly as we picture it. You’ve promised to fix things, to be different, if only he comes back, and that level of longing is something we understand. But we also know that our worth and our future aren’t supposed to rest on another person’s decision. God’s care for you is not measured by whether this young man returns. He sees you, loves you, and wants to give you a steady peace even in the uncertainty.

One concrete step that could help right now is finding a trusted, mature Christian friend or a women’s ministry leader at your church to walk through this with you. Not just to vent, but to pray with you and help you untangle the emotions and the pressure you’ve put on yourself. Sometimes talking face-to-face with someone who can listen without judgment and gently remind you of what’s true makes the burden feel less crushing.

Father, thank You that You are not distant or confused, You know every detail of this heartache and the loneliness behind it. Please quiet this daughter’s racing thoughts and give her the courage to trust You more than she trusts her own desperation. Guard her from settling for a love that cannot fully reflect Your goodness. Bring her wise, caring people to stand with her, and grant her a deep sense of her own value in Christ, no matter what happens next. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

I fear you have made up your mind already, and you come to God not to submit your will to His, but to ask Him to endorse your own desires. My soul, wait thou only upon God. Be silent before Him. Rest calm and undisturbed. If you had grace just to turn your eye to God, you might walk straight on in confidence, and say, “Though I should tread on hell itself at the next step, yet if God bade me tread there it would be heaven to me.” Your present cry is not for God, but for this man; you would use the Almighty as a means to an earthly end. Submit yourselves therefore to God. This is the true surrender of every proud pretension. You say you will fix your attitude and actions if he comes back, but God would have you surrender yourself at discretion to His method of operating upon you now, without condition. You bargain like one who has not yet yielded up the keys of the citadel of self.

That feeling of heaviness, that dread of another broken bond, may be the Holy Spirit pressing upon you the weight of a misplaced hope. You speak of waiting for him because he said he would return, but where is your waiting upon God? True waiting is not a feverish demand that this week he must reach out, but a humble stillness that says, “Teach me Your statutes.” I have declared my ways, and You heard me. He hears your every word, even the confused ones, and His heart yearns towards you with a patience that puts ours to shame. And yet we find the Lord lovingly waiting, a waiting God, ready to pardon. But often He must wait until everything has broken down before we come back to Him and to salvation through Jesus Christ.

And oh, the compassion in His look! When first I understood that the Lord looked on me with love in the midst of my sin, it did seem so wonderful. That look from Christ broke Peter’s heart and brought those bitter tears of true repentance. I trust that if any of us have been falling back, we may get such a restoration from the Lord Himself that we become better Christians ever afterwards. But I do not want you to break a bone; I pray God you never may. The child of God sins very dearly. An ordinary sinner sins cheaply, but the King’s favorite finds it an expensive thing to play the rebel.

Do not fence with God or quarrel with Scripture. You speak of body count as if it were a mere tally of misfortune, but the wound goes deeper. Let guilt lie heavy, but do not fear the pain. It is grand faith to be able to say, “Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.” The first thing, the only thing, is to trust Jesus Christ. Be reconciled to God. He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be you reconciled to God.

Lay down this burden of demanding a certain future. Your true need is not the return of a man, but the smile of the Father. He sees God in all the good or ill that checkers life. And it is a dark thing to say “Thou God seest me” if you are still running from His way. What will you do when you have to drink that cup of remorse? But if you will be silent before Him, really silent, and let His love break that proud will, you will find that His grace can restore without your managing. I recollect the time when I have stood and cried to God, “O God, if I must lie on a sick bed till I die, I care not if Thou wilt but have mercy on me; only conquer my proud will, and make a new man of me.” May God give you that blessed faith, and may His peace garrison your heart.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words pour out with such anguish, and it is clear your heart is heavy. But let us look carefully at what you are truly seeking. You say you surrender everything to God, yet you dictate the exact terms: this man, this week, this reunion. Is that surrender, or is it bargaining? True surrender is to fall into the all-governing Hand of God like clay in the potter’s grip, willing to be shaped into whatever He sees fit, even if it breaks your own desires. You promise to fix your attitude and actions if he comes back. But what kind of love is it that waits to amend only when granted its wish? That is not the fear of God; it is the market-place.

Consider the blessed Paul, who burned with longing to see his beloved Romans, yet he did not seek to force God’s will. He loved them, but he loved God more, so he mingled his longing with holy fear, and when his prayer was delayed or even denied, he gave thanks. Do you love this man more than God? For if he has become the sun of your world, then no wonder your soul is cast into night at the thought of losing him. But if you love God foremost, no earthly loss can truly wound you. When the righteous Job lost his children, the blow did not shatter him, for the One he loved most still lived. Fix your heart there first.

You speak of bodycount, of past entanglements; it is good that you grieve over these things, for God does not reproach the penitent. He waits with open arms, ready to remember your former sins no more. But do not use your sorrow over past sin as a reason to cling desperately to this man now, as if he alone can save you from future falls. Your safety lies not in a human relationship, however desired, but in a soul riveted to the fear of the Lord. Put that first, and everything else will be ordered. Let your primary prayer be: “Cleanse my heart, O God, and make me wholly Thine.” Do not delay to turn fully to Him; do not say, “I will change when he returns,” for that moment may not come, and your soul is in peril now.

See to it that you do not love contrary to what seems good to God. If this man himself is not walking in righteousness, or if the bond is one that God cannot bless, then to pursue it is to prefer human praise and comfort to the praise of God. True love never asks Him to act against His own law. Examine your conscience: could it be that you love him more than the One who made you? That is the root of your terror. But if you place yourself soberly under the Hand that governs all, you will find that He is able to give you a peace that passes understanding, whether this man returns or not. Seek first the Sun of Righteousness, and the lesser lights will fall into their proper place. Weep, repent, and then stand firm, not demanding a sign this week, but entrusting your future entirely to Him who knows what is best for your salvation.

The ache in your words is one I recognize, a pain that comes from pouring your heart into something that feels broken and beyond your control. I hear the desperation, and I know that place where everything feels heavy. But I want to gently speak to the core of what your heart is crying out for, because prayer is not a way to get God to do what we desperately want. The purpose of prayer is always to bring our hearts into alignment with His will, not to twist His arm until He gives us our own.

You mentioned surrendering everything to Him. That is the very place where true peace begins. Real surrender does not say, “I give You everything if You give him back.” That is a bargain, and God does not make deals. He makes promises. His promises are sure and unchanging, but they are not blank checks for every relational hope we clasp. He does not renege on His word, but His word calls us into something far greater than having a particular person in our lives. It calls us to become people who trust Him more than we trust our own plans.

Listen carefully: the most transforming moments in prayer are not when God changes my circumstances but when the Spirit changes me. As we lay out our pain before the Lord, He ministers to the very depth of our soul. He brings assurance that our worth is not determined by another person’s return, and He brings comfort that outstrips the fleeting relief of a repaired romance. Have you ever experienced that? Coming to Him overwhelmed, and leaving with a quiet victory even while the problem still sits in front of you? That is what He offers, and I am praying you taste it.

I want to be honest with you about the pattern I see in your words: the fear of another “bodycount,” the dread of seeing him with someone else, the begging for God to push him back. Those fears are real, but they reveal that your heart is clinging to a relationship as if it can give you what only God Himself can supply. The consistent witness of Scripture points us to a different hope. The ultimate promise to Abraham was not about land or immediate satisfaction; it was about a seed, Jesus Christ, through whom all nations would be blessed. When we are in Christ by faith, we become heirs of that promise, children of the free woman, not bound by the cycle of earning and failing. Your identity is not found in a man. You are a child of promise, and God’s goodness is meant to lead you to a place of rest and blessing that no fickle human love can provide.

There is also the matter of patience. The promises of God often involve waiting, and in that waiting, faith is tested and refined. Abraham waited for years for a son, and the saints of old looked forward to a Messiah they did not see in their lifetime. Yet they did not demand that God act according to their timeline. The danger is that we have a promise of rest and we fail to press in and claim it because we are fixated on a lesser promise of our own making. You are asking God to push this man back to you this week. But what if God’s loving answer is to let the silence linger so that He can draw you closer to Himself? What if the heaviness you feel is not a sign of His absence but an invitation to stop fighting for your own way and to let His will be done, whatever that looks like?

I am not dismissing your sorrow. The effectual, fervent prayer of a heart laid bare matters. Come to Him with tears. Tell Him what disturbs you. But then, even as you speak, let the Spirit adjust your ask. Do not be like those who desire to be under a law they cannot keep, thinking that a promise to fix your attitude will make God obligated. The law was given to show how helpless we are, driving us to Jesus Christ. Your hope to “start again” must be built on something more solid than a person’s return. Start again with the One who keeps His word perfectly. Let the goodness of God, not the fear of an uncertain love life, bring you to true repentance, where you can release your grasp on this demand.

My word of encouragement is this: press in toward God, not toward a particular outcome. Continue to advance until you receive the whole promise of life in the Spirit, a life where Christ is formed in you. That is a travail far more precious than the travail over a broken relationship. It is not wrong to desire marriage, but marriage is a covenant designed to reflect something eternal, not an escape from loneliness or a badge of being chosen. It is for one man and one woman, in a lifelong commitment, not a cycle of break and comeback. I urge you to test whether what you are wanting lines up with that holy design or whether you are settling for the anxiety of the flesh.

So, I will agree with you in prayer, but not that God would simply push him back. I will pray that the Lord would lighten your load as you truly surrender everything. I will pray that He changes you in the waiting, making you so rooted in His love that you find your stability there, whether this man returns or not. You are not forgotten. God keeps His promises. But the heir of the promise is not the one who begs for a lesser inheritance, but the one who trusts the Father’s timing and sovereign care. Let Him be your heritage. Let Him fill that space. The heaviness can lift, not necessarily when the phone rings, but when your soul finally rests in the changeless love of God.
