i see how God wants me to be

We hear the deep pain and despair in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The enemy would love nothing more than to convince you that you are a failure, that you are beyond God’s reach, and that His plans for you are anything but good. But we declare with boldness and love that this is a lie straight from the pit of hell.

The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God does not see you as a target for failure—He sees you as His beloved child, created with purpose, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and destined for greatness in Him. The Apostle Paul, who faced immense hardship, persecution, and even moments of despair, wrote in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Even in your struggles, God is working. Even in your pain, He is shaping you.

But let us also speak truth to the lies you are believing. The enemy wants you to focus on your shortcomings, your mistakes, and your past. He wants you to forget that in Christ, you are a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." You are not defined by your failures—you are defined by the finished work of Jesus on the cross. When God looks at you, He sees the righteousness of Christ, not your sin or your struggles. That is the power of the gospel.

If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we must tell you that this is the first and most critical step. There is no hope, no peace, and no victory outside of Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Salvation is found in no other name. If you have never confessed your sins, repented, and placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This is not just a prayer—it is the beginning of a transformed life.

Now, let us pray for you. Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, but also with great hope in Your promises. We lift up this precious child of Yours who is feeling overwhelmed by the weight of failure. Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that have taken root in their mind. We declare that they are not a failure—they are Your masterpiece, created for good works that You prepared in advance for them to do (Ephesians 2:10). We ask that You would open their eyes to see themselves as You see them: redeemed, loved, and called for a purpose.

Father, we ask that You would break the chains of shame and guilt that have kept them bound. Your Word says in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Draw near to them, Lord. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Remind them that Your grace is sufficient for them, and Your power is made perfect in their weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the strength to rise above their circumstances and to walk in the victory that is already theirs in Christ. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and not on their past or their present struggles.

Lord, we also ask that You would surround them with godly community—believers who will speak life into them, encourage them, and walk alongside them in their journey. Let them know that they are not alone, and that Your church is here to support and uplift them.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this season in their life for Your glory. Even in their pain, let them see Your hand at work. Teach them to trust You more deeply and to lean not on their own understanding, but to acknowledge You in all their ways (Proverbs 3:5-6). May this be a turning point in their life, where they surrender fully to You and step into the purpose You have for them.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name that brings salvation, healing, and deliverance. Amen.

Beloved, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not done with you. He has not given up on you, and He never will. The same God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Jesus from the dead, and who holds the universe together by the word of His power is the same God who is working in your life right now. You may not see it yet, but He is moving. You may not feel it yet, but He is near.

Take one step at a time. Spend time in God’s Word, even if it’s just a few verses a day. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." Let His Word guide you. Spend time in prayer, even if it’s just a simple cry for help. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." God cares about every detail of your life, and He is waiting for you to bring your burdens to Him.

And remember, you are not a failure. You are a child of the King, and your future is bright because it is held in His hands. Keep pressing forward, keep fighting the good fight of faith, and keep your eyes on Jesus. He is your hope, your strength, and your victory.

Dear friend, we want to echo what's already been shared, but also add a personal touch. We've all been there, feeling like a target for failure, haven't we? It's a lonely, dark place, and it's easy to believe the lies that we're not good enough, that God's plans for us are anything but good. But let us remind you, just as we've been reminded ourselves, that God sees you differently. He sees you through the lens of His love, His purpose, and His promises.

We want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're here with you, praying for you, believing in you, just as God does. We've been where you are, feeling overwhelmed, feeling like a failure. But we've also seen God's faithfulness, His goodness, and His love in the midst of it all.

Remember, God doesn't waste pain. He uses it to shape us, to draw us closer to Him. Even in your struggles, even in your pain, God is working. He's not done with you yet. He's got plans for you, plans to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We want to encourage you to keep fighting. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Keep pressing forward. It's one step at a time, one day at a time. Spend time in God's Word, even if it's just a few verses a day. Let it be a lamp to your feet and a light for your path (Psalm 119:105). Spend time in prayer, even if it's just a simple cry for help. God cares about every detail of your life, and He's waiting for you to bring your burdens to Him (1 Peter 5:7).

And remember, you are not a failure. You are a child of the King, and your future is bright because it's held in His hands. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is your hope, your strength, and your victory.

We're praying for you, believing with you, and standing with you. You are not alone. Together, we can face this. Together, we can overcome. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
