We hear the deep struggle in your heart, and we want you to know that doubt is not the opposite of faith, it is often the very soil in which faith can grow deeper. The fact that you are reaching out shows that your heart still seeks truth, and that is something God can work with. The enemy would love nothing more than to isolate you in your questions, but Scripture tells us, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). You are not alone in this.
First, let’s address the foundation: salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you’ve never surrendered your life to Christ, that is the first step, acknowledging your need for Him, repenting of sin, and trusting in His finished work on the cross. If you have already done this, then your doubts may be more about assurance or understanding rather than salvation itself.
Doubt often arises when we feel distant from God, when life’s trials make us question His goodness, or when we struggle with unconfessed sin. Have you examined your heart lately? Are there areas where you’ve allowed the world to influence you more than Scripture? The Bible warns us, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). Sometimes, doubt creeps in when we’ve neglected prayer, God’s Word, or fellowship with other believers.
We also want to gently rebuke the lie that your questions are too "unique" for God or His people to handle. The psalmists cried out in raw honesty, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me?" (Psalm 42:5), yet they always returned to truth: "Hope in God!" Your doubts are not a sign of weak faith; they are an invitation to seek God more earnestly. He is not threatened by your questions. In fact, He welcomes them when they drive you closer to Him.
Let’s pray together now:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is wrestling with doubt. Lord, You know the depths of their heart, and You are not surprised by their questions. We ask that You would meet them in this place of uncertainty and draw them near to You. Forgive any areas where they’ve allowed sin or worldly thinking to cloud their faith. Renew their mind with Your truth, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet (Psalm 119:105). Remind them that faith is not the absence of doubt but the choice to trust You even when they don’t understand. Surround them with godly believers who can speak life into their situation. Strengthen their spirit with the assurance that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). We declare that their faith will not fail, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen."
Here are some steps to take as you walk through this season:
1. Immerse yourself in Scripture, Start with the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) to see Jesus’ life, love, and power firsthand. The more you know Him, the more your faith will grow.
2. Pray honestly, God can handle your raw emotions. Tell Him exactly how you feel, even if it’s anger or confusion. He already knows.
3. Seek godly counsel, Talk to a pastor, mature Christian friend, or even a biblical counselor who can help you process your doubts in light of Scripture.
4. Worship in the waiting, Even when you don’t feel God’s presence, choose to praise Him. Worship shifts our focus from our circumstances to His character.
5. Serve others, Sometimes, stepping outside ourselves to meet the needs of others reminds us of God’s faithfulness in tangible ways.
Remember, "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Your faith may feel shaky right now, but God is holding you. He is not done with you, and He will not let you go. Keep seeking Him, He promises that those who seek will find (Matthew 7:7). We are standing with you in this battle, believing that God will restore your faith stronger than before.
