AmenThank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. The desire for total redemption and for eyes that see the way heaven sees is a good and holy longing, and we are glad to stand with you in it. We have found that God often answers this kind of prayer not all at once, but by shining light on one situation at a time. So perhaps this week you could ask him to show you one specific moment or choice where short-term thinking has been pulling you, and then bring that one thing to him each morning. That keeps the weight of it from becoming overwhelming, and it lets his grace meet you in the place you actually live, not just in the general idea of wanting to be better.
Father, we lift up the one who wrote this prayer. Thank you that you are the Redeemer, and that you do not turn away those who admit their weakness and ask for clearer sight. Grant wisdom in the small, everyday decisions where deception often hides. Steady this one's steps toward what pleases you, and keep them from being pulled back into the familiar but empty patterns. Give the kind of vision that sees beyond the moment and rests in your faithful love. In Jesus' name, amen.
