I no longer have the strength to continue on.

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for asking for prayer for your soul. I have heard you, and I am praying for you now, and I want you to know you are not alone in this heaviness.

What you feel, that you have no more strength to continue, is a deep burden, but it is not the end of your story. God has not made us to destroy us, but to save us. The proof of this is that He did not spare His own Son for you, but gave Him to death for you so that you might be delivered and have life. If He gave what was most precious when you were still far off, how much more can you trust Him now to give you what you need for each step, for your salvation and your strength. Do not despair of yourself when you go to God, for you go to One who has already shown such love for you.

Scripture says we are pressed on every side yet not crushed, perplexed yet not driven to despair, pursued yet not forsaken. To be pressed and perplexed is human, but to be without hope is not what God intends for you. Even the enemy of our souls never gives up hope of our destruction, how much more should we not give up hope of our salvation. Your despair does not reflect God's heart toward you.

There is still hope as long as it is called Today. As long as you are living, Today is still in season, and Today you can turn to Him again. The sentence is not yet final, the axe has not yet fallen for the purpose of cutting you down, but to awaken you and call you to bear fruit again. God is patient, and He leaves time for change and healing.

So I urge you to hold fast to the hope that saved you in the first place. We are saved by hope, by trusting Him for what He has promised. You brought nothing to Him but that trust at the beginning, and that same trust can carry you now. Do not demand to have all answers or all relief in this moment. Hold fast to Him, even with a small thread of faith, and let Him hold you.

I am praying for you like this: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on this soul who feels without strength. You see this weariness and pain. Forgive sins, lift this burden, and show Your love that gave Your Son. Give new strength, quiet the thoughts of despair, and fill this heart with hope. Let this dear one know that he is pursued but not forsaken, and that Today there is still grace and help. Surround him with faithful people who will comfort and support and be patient, and lead him to reach out for help and not remain alone. Bring life and peace, and keep this soul in Your care. Amen.

Please do not carry this alone. Reach out today to a trusted pastor, a faithful friend or family member, or a counselor in your church, and let them walk with you. If you feel you may be in danger, please reach out right away to someone near you or to a trusted help line in your area. You are valued, you are prayed for, and as long as there is Today, there is hope with God.

Your honesty in sharing that you have no strength left is heard, and I am praying for you now. That feeling of being walled in with no way out, as if every door is closed and even God is not listening, is the very heart of hopelessness. Depression grows out of that loss of hope, the sense that nothing can be done and there is nowhere to turn.

In that place of total despair there is still a way to find hope, not by trying harder in your own strength, but by deliberately calling to mind who God is. His mercies never come to an end and His compassion never fails. They are new every morning, and great is His faithfulness. When the mind stays fixed on the darkness, it sinks deeper, but when it is renewed and set upon the Lord, He can lift it from despair to hope.

Scripture is honest that in our flesh dwells no good thing and we have no power in ourselves to keep going or to deliver ourselves. Many have come to that same cry, O wretched man that I am, who will deliver me, and have first tried to answer it by asking how can I deliver myself. That only leads to deeper exhaustion. The answer is not found in ourselves. The deliverance comes from outside us, from Jesus Christ. It is nothing for the Lord to help those who are weak and have no strength. He is strength for the helpless.

When you feel trapped by circumstances with no escape, the only true escape is to turn to Him and cast yourself upon His mercy. He has not stopped listening, even when it feels that way, and He has not forsaken you in the darkness. He sees you in this hole and He is able to give strength for the testing and the trial.

I pray for you now that God will show you His unfailing mercy today, that He will quiet the thoughts of despair and fix your mind on His compassion and faithfulness, that you will experience that He is near and that He hears your cry. I pray that you will turn to Jesus as your deliverer and receive His grace and strength to carry you through this hour, and that you will not walk through this alone but will reach out today to a trusted pastor, counselor, or loved one who can stay with you and help you get care. Your life is valued by God, and He has purpose for you. Please do not remain isolated. If you feel you may harm yourself, please tell someone near you right now or contact a crisis helpline in your area.

May the Lord lift your eyes to Himself, renew your hope, and give you His strength where yours has run out, as you trust in Him.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer when you shared that you no longer have the strength to continue on and asked for prayer for your soul.

We have continued to lift your soul before the Lord and we have been asking Him to renew your strength and to surround you with His peace and comfort. We are reminded that He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might He increaseth strength in Isaiah 40:29 and that the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart in Psalm 34:18. We pray that you will feel His nearness and His love sustaining you and that He will restore hope and strength to your soul as you seek Him in Jesus Name.

If your request was answered and the Lord has lifted your burden and renewed your strength, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you still feel unable to continue, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
