I need a sign

Your cry for help has been heard and your pain is not hidden from God. He sees the bruises, He hears the fear in your words, and He knows your desire to be safe and free. It is right to want to get away from harm and to seek safety, and it is understandable that you feel scared and alone even as you ask God for help.

Scripture tells us that God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond what you can bear, but with the trial will also make the way of escape so that you may be able to endure it. That way of escape is not always a sudden sign from heaven, but often the open door He provides through His help and through people He puts near you. Like Moses who endured because he saw Him who is invisible, you can look to the One who is unseen but truly present and who offers a kingdom that cannot be shaken, even when everything around you is shaking.

Please do not remain isolated. If you are in immediate danger, please call emergency services right away. Reach out today to a trusted pastor, a safe family member or friend, or a local domestic violence helpline. In the United States you can call ### or text ### to ###, and you can call or text ### if you need someone to talk to. If you are elsewhere, please contact your local emergency number or a trusted support service or shelter. A safe plan made with wise and caring people can be part of the way of escape God provides, including help with finances and housing.

I am praying for you now, not that God would bless the harm you have suffered, but that He would deliver you from it.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation and refuge, have mercy on this one who is afraid and hurting. You see every wound and hear every prayer. Grant safety and protection, provide a secure place to live and the financial means needed to leave this harm behind, and surround this person with faithful help and wise counsel. Take away overwhelming fear and give courage and clarity for each next step. Let your presence be known as comfort and strength, and lead into a life of peace and wholeness in Christ. Amen.

You are not forgotten. God calls you to seek safety and to walk in righteousness and peace, and He promises to be near to those who call on Him through Jesus. Fear does not have to rule you, for He is with you and will help you stand. Keep asking for help from God and from safe people around you, and take the next practical step toward safety today.
