I love my ex

Beloved of All
I made a mistake in our relationship and I want an another chance. I love him so much and I just want to be with him again. I want to do it the right way through god. I believe we are meant to be and god may bring us together again. I hope we can get back together. We ended on good terms so I hope there is a chance. I have faith in got but I know that my heart yearns for him.

We hear the yearning in your heart and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord, asking for His will to be done and for His wisdom to guide you. We understand the pain of realizing a mistake in a relationship and the deep desire to make it right, and we commend your desire to do things the right way through God this time.

We want to gently encourage you to see this season as an opportunity to grow closer to the Lord and to seek His forgiveness and healing first. If there was sin in the relationship, whether it was words or actions that hurt him, or if there was sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we encourage you to bring it honestly before God. The Bible tells us If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. God's grace is available when we repent with a sincere heart, and He can restore and make us new. We also encourage you, if appropriate and with godly wisdom, to seek forgiveness from him without pressure or expectation, trusting God with the outcome.

You shared that you believe you are meant to be and hope God will bring you back together. We understand that hope, and we also want to encourage you to surrender that hope fully to God's perfect will. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Sometimes God's good for us is reconciliation and restoration, and sometimes His good is a different path that leads us closer to Him. We encourage you to delight yourself in the Lord first, trusting His promise that when we delight in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart. Psalm 37:4. And to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. Waiting on the Lord takes courage, so we cling to the encouragement to Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14.

Doing it the right way through God is a beautiful and biblical desire. In God's design, romantic love is intended to lead toward marriage, which is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman held in honor. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. This means that courtship should be approached as intentional preparation for marriage to another Christian believer, not simply as a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship without purpose. We encourage you to consider whether he is a believer in Jesus Christ, for we are told Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? 2 Corinthians 6:14. If God does open a door to reconciliation, we pray it would be marked by purity, accountability, godly counsel, and a shared commitment to honor Christ and to pursue marriage if it is His will, fleeing from fornication which is sex before or outside of marriage. 1 Corinthians 6:18.

We also noticed you spoke of God and faith in general, but did not mention Jesus Christ. We say this in love because it is so important. There is no access to the Father except through Jesus. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is only by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling on His name, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today, to confess your sins and follow Him.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. You see her heart, her love, her regret, and her longing. We ask You to forgive her sins as she confesses them and to cleanse her and heal her heart. Give her Your peace that surpasses understanding and help her to delight in You above all else. We ask for Your will to be done in this relationship. If it is Your will to bring them back together, we pray You would do so in Your perfect timing and that any restored courtship would be centered on You, pure, honoring, and moving toward a godly marriage if You lead them there. If it is not Your will, we pray You would gently close the door, comfort her, and guide her steps toward the spouse You have for her or toward contentment in You. Help her to wait on You with strength and courage and to trust You with her future. Draw both of them closer to Jesus and let Your name be glorified in their lives. We ask all this in Jesus' name, amen.

We hear how much you still care for him and how much you want to honor God with whatever comes next. It makes sense that your heart still yearns for him, especially when things ended kindly and part of you wonders if there could be another chance.

Wanting to do it the right way is a good desire, and part of that is holding your hope with open hands before God. You can take responsibility for your part, learn and grow, and seek forgiveness, but coming back together would require both of you freely choosing to rebuild trust together over time. That cannot be rushed or forced by one person alone.

A steady next step while you wait could be to keep bringing this to the Lord honestly, asking not only what you hope for but for His wisdom and direction for both of you. It can also help to talk with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you well, share what happened, what you have learned, and invite their perspective. If you do sense it is right to reach out to him, do so gently and without pressure, giving him space to seek God too.

We are carrying you in prayer in this lonely in-between season.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see her love, her regret, and her desire to walk faithfully. Give her peace as she trusts You with the outcome, wisdom for each decision, and healing and growth in this time. Guide her and guide him according to Your will. In Jesus name, amen.

Your honest and tender confession has been heard, and the yearning of your heart is not hidden from the Lord who searches all hearts. You speak of a mistake and a desire to do what is right before God, and in that desire there is much to be commended. Let your first care be to seek the Lord Himself, for the soul's deepest need is not the restoration of a former affection but reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ alone.

Know this, there is forgiveness with God. It is a divine forgiveness, for He says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. If you have sinned against another, you have first sinned against Him, and His forgiveness is what you most need. His Word ought to be enough for you, but to the broken and contrite He gives assurance that for Christ's sake He will not remember thy sins. He has no buts in His forgiveness. When you make a clean breast in confession, He gives a clean breast by absolution, and that forgiveness in Christ is an eternal forgiveness. He will never rake up past offences to charge them again upon those who trust His Son. Therefore come to Christ as a sinner, trust His blood alone, and you shall find that there is forgiveness, and with that forgiveness the fear of God put into your heart that you shall not depart from Him.

Concerning what is to come, I must counsel you with the tenderness of one who would not see you build your hope upon sand. You say you believe you are meant to be and that God may bring you together again. Take heed to the Word which says, Ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that. It is foolish for any to say, We will go, we will buy, we will sell, we will get gain, as though we could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so all things are under His regulation and have an appointed place in His plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. The preservation and perseverance of His people rests upon His will, not upon the strength of our own resolve.

It is also consistent with all experience that salvation and every good work is of God's will, yet the will of man is not ignored. Men are not saved against their wills, but the work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will and make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure. You cannot by the strength of your affection conquer another's will, nor should you desire to. If the Lord is pleased to change hearts and open a way, He is able to do it. Your part is not to claim as certain what God has not promised, nor to make your happiness to stand or fall upon obtaining this one desire, but to have respect to God's will, and then God will have respect to your will.

If you would do it the right way through God, then walk in His revealed will which must not be violated. If the Lord should open a door for renewed fellowship, let it be pursued in holiness and in the light, under the counsel of your church, with purity and with patience, looking not to mere sentiment or to living together outside of covenant, but to that which God has ordained from the beginning, marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, wherein alone that nearness which belongs to husband and wife is to be found. Let no affection, however sincere, draw you into that which God calls sin, for He will not bless what He has forbidden. Your best profit will consist in doing God's will, and you will not even wish for that which you cannot have while promoting His will.

Therefore commit your way unto the Lord. Confess your fault to Him and, where it is right and modest to do so, to the one you have grieved, without manipulation or pressure. Pray not that God would be made to serve your plan, but that He would make you submissive to His. Pray that He would sanctify you, keep you, teach you and make you content in Christ whether the answer be yes or no. He will employ those whom He forgives to serve His Son, and He will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly.

May the Lord teach you to feel in your heart what faith often says with the lips, If the Lord will, and may He fulfill the desire of them that fear Him as He hears their cry and saves them. Trust His wisdom more than your own yearning, and you shall find that His will, though it may try you for a season, never fails and never forgets to be gracious.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty in sharing this longing and regret is heard, and your desire to do what is right before God is a good and necessary beginning.

God is merciful to those who come to Him with a repentant heart through Jesus Christ alone, who alone brings forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God. If you made a mistake that hurt this relationship, bring that sin plainly to the Lord in confession, receive His forgiveness, and where it is possible and wise, seek forgiveness from the one you hurt without demanding anything in return. True repentance looks to God first, not only to getting back what was lost.

It is understandable to hope that you are meant to be together and to believe God may bring you together again, especially when things ended on good terms. Yet our hearts can yearn strongly for what is not God's will for us, and faith does not mean insisting on the outcome we want but trusting God's wisdom and goodness even when His answer is no or not yet. Rather than asking God to guarantee a reunion, the better prayer is to place both yourself and this young man in His hands and ask Him to lead you both into what is holy, wise, and best, whether that includes restoration or not.

If God does open a door for honest conversation and mutual interest in trying again, then to do it the right way through God means pursuing it in purity and in truth. That would mean not resuming sexual intimacy or living together before marriage, seeking godly counsel from your pastor or mature believers, moving slowly with clear communication, and with marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as the only right context for that intimacy. It also means respecting his freedom to choose. Love does not pressure or manipulate, and if he does not desire to return, you must honor his decision and continue to walk faithfully where God has placed you.

In this season, give yourself to seeking the Lord Himself more than seeking the relationship. Grow in prayer, in the Scriptures, in fellowship with the church, and in a life that is watchful and pure. Guard your heart from making this hope into an idol, and ask God to shape your desires to want His will above all.

I will pray for you in this way, that the Lord would draw you closer to Christ, grant you full assurance of His forgiveness, heal what has been broken, give you wisdom and patience, and guide both you and your former boyfriend according to His perfect will. May He lead you in holiness and peace, and whether He brings you together in a godly marriage or leads you on separate paths, may you find your deepest hope and contentment in Him.
