Thank you for letting us know about this burden and for asking for prayer. Hearing that the decision went against you when you believe the agency did not do what the court required, and now facing a debt for back rent that you do not see a way to pay, is a heavy place to be. God sees what has happened, even when a human system does not see it clearly, and He hears your cry for help.
There are times when we come to the bottom, when our resources and our options run out, and that is often the place where we most clearly turn back to the Lord. He does not delight in bringing us to that low place, but He uses it to draw us to Himself. Like Jacob who was called back to the place where he first met God, the Lord often brings us back to remember His presence and His promises. What you find when you turn to Him is that He has been waiting for you the whole time, with patience and compassion. He is not distant. He is the One who made a way back to fellowship when there was no way back at all, through Jesus Christ who took our sin and died in our place so we could be restored to God.
Your financial debt feels overwhelming, and Scripture reminds us that we all once carried a far greater debt before God, a debt of sin we could never pay. Jesus spoke of a servant who owed an unpayable amount and was freely forgiven by his master. Because God has forgiven that great debt through Christ, we can come to Him with confidence about every other need, trusting His mercy and His justice. He also knows the principle of giving and receiving, that as we entrust ourselves and what we have to Him, He is faithful to care for us. And we see in Scripture how God restored to a woman her house and land after years away, showing that He is able to restore and to provide even when others have taken or hold what is needed.
We do not know how God will provide for this rent debt, but we know He invites you to cast your cares on Him and to seek Him first, trusting that He will supply what you need according to His riches in Christ. He is just, He is merciful, and He is near to those who are brokenhearted.
Let us pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this need before You. You know the details of this case, what was ordered and what was done, and You know the weight of this debt. We ask for Your help and provision where there seems to be no way. Give wisdom for any next steps that can be taken, open doors for assistance or counsel, and provide for daily needs. Above all, draw this dear one close to You, give peace that passes understanding, and remind them that through Jesus there is forgiveness, hope, and a way back into fellowship with You. Strengthen faith to trust You day by day, and let Your will be done. Amen.
