I have chronic health issues that leave me bedridden, no family, church, friends or support. I’m being harassed by a spirit spouse. I’ve recently prayed to ask God about my spiritual state. I heard the word “rebrobate” minutes after I’d prayed but they could’ve been a demon. Please pray that God deliver me from demonic oppression and a hardened heart. Fill me with the fire of God again. We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your burdens to the Lord. Your struggles with chronic illness, isolation, and spiritual warfare are heavy, but we know that our God is greater than all of these. First, let us address the fear that may have gripped your heart when you heard the word "reprobate." Scripture tells us in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from God’s love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." If you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit, and no demonic voice can snatch you from His hand (John 10:28-29).

The harassment you describe as a "spirit spouse" is not of God. The enemy seeks to isolate, accuse, and torment, but we rebuke that spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Scripture declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." You are not alone in this battle, though you may feel physically alone, the Lord is with you, and we stand with you in prayer. The fire of God you long for is not quenched by circumstances; it is the Holy Spirit who ignites and sustains it. Ask the Lord to fill you afresh, to renew your mind with His Word, and to break every chain of oppression.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, lifting up their weary heart and body to You. Lord, You see their suffering, physical, emotional, and spiritual, and You are near to the brokenhearted. We ask that You would break every chain of demonic oppression in their life. In the name of Jesus, we command every unclean spirit harassing them to flee and never return. Fill this precious one with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Let Your fire burn within them, consuming every lie of the enemy and replacing it with Your truth. Renew their strength, even as they wait on You (Isaiah 40:31).

Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your presence, for You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). Provide for their every need, whether it be physical healing, companionship, or a church family to support them. Soften their heart, Lord, and let them feel Your love in tangible ways. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that nothing can separate them from Your love.

We also pray for their spiritual growth, that they would be rooted and grounded in Your Word. Help them to stand firm in faith, even when the enemy whispers accusations. Let them know that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).

Lord, if there is any area of their life not surrendered to You, reveal it and draw them closer. Let them walk in the fullness of Your Spirit, bearing fruit in every season. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Dear one, we want to encourage you with the truth that God has not forgotten you. Even in your weakness, He is strong. The enemy may seek to wear you down, but the Lord is your defender. Spend time in His Word, even if it’s just a few verses each day. Meditate on Psalm 23, which reminds us that the Lord is our shepherd, and He leads us beside still waters. He restores our souls.

If you have not already, consider reaching out to a biblical, Christ-centered church, even if it’s online for now. There are believers who would love to pray with you and support you. You are not meant to walk this journey alone. The Lord often uses His people to be His hands and feet, so do not hesitate to ask for help.

Lastly, if you have never fully surrendered your life to Jesus Christ or are unsure of your salvation, we urge you to settle that today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is not about being perfect; it’s about being forgiven and made new. If you’d like to pray to receive Christ, we can guide you through that as well. You are loved, and your life has purpose in Him. Keep pressing into Jesus, He is your hope and your deliverer.

We hurt with you just reading this. Being bedridden and so alone is a heavy, heavy weight to carry, and when spiritual fears get added on top of that, everything can feel overwhelming and dark. It makes complete sense that you’re desperate for some kind of breakthrough.

When someone is isolated and in chronic pain day after day, the mind and spirit can get worn thin. We’ve seen how long illness can distort perceptions, making every passing thought or word seem like a verdict from God. The fact that you even questioned whether that word was from a demon tells us God’s Spirit is still giving you some discernment in the fog. A hardened heart doesn’t reach out for prayer like you just did. A reprobate mind doesn’t cry out for the fire of God again. So let’s set that heavy fear down together right now. The very longing you feel is evidence that God is still at work in you, drawing you back.

Since you’re bedridden and feel so cut off, we do want to gently say: if any of these chronic health issues haven’t been fully evaluated recently, please let a doctor know what’s happening physically. Sometimes prolonged illness and isolation can play havoc with our bodies and minds in ways that need medical attention alongside prayer.

For the spiritual oppression you’re describing, we don’t think you should face this alone. The isolation itself is part of the attack. Is there any way you could reach out to the prayer team from this very site or find a mature believer, maybe through a phone call or online connection, who would agree to pray with you regularly and walk through this season with you? Deliverance ministry works best when other steady, grounded believers surround the person, not when it’s attempted in isolation. Someone bringing simple, consistent prayer and fellowship into your life could make an enormous difference.

Lord Jesus, in Your name we come against the voices of fear and accusation that have hounded our friend. Silence every lying spirit whispering condemnation. Bring steady believers into this lonely room, by phone, by visit, by any means You choose, so that isolation and oppression lose their grip. Give doctors wisdom if there are physical roots to this struggle. And fan into flame again the genuine faith that first brought our friend to You. Restore hope, restore peace, and let Your presence feel real and warm again. Amen.

The word "reprobate" that hissed into your ear was not from the Lord who heals the backsliding of His people. The enemy loves to hurl this dart at those who are already wounded, but I bid you look not to whispers in the dark, but to the promise: "I will heal their backsliding." The very cry you raise for a new heart and a right spirit is no small evidence that the Spirit has already begun His gracious work within you. No soul ever truly groaned for deliverance and the fire of God without first having that flame kindled in some measure by the Holy Ghost.

Your bed of affliction, your loneliness, your harassment by a foul spirit, all this is indeed a furnace. But remember, though you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; the coals may be vehement, yet the Lord is with you there. Your true Husband, Christ Jesus, gave Himself for you, and no spirit spouse can snatch you from His pierced hands. His love is shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Spirit, and it is that love, not the absence of trial, that perfumes the soul and overcomes the stench of hell.

Oh, that the Spirit who wounds the heart would now heal you! He who convicts is also the Comforter. Do not look within for a perfect heart, but look to Him who gives a new heart altogether. Cast yourself wholly upon sovereign grace; seek no other remedy. Let your whole heart, divided though it feels, turn to Him who says, "I will take away the stony heart, and give you an heart of flesh."

Cry to Him, "Renew a right spirit within me," and He will answer. The fire of God will yet fall upon you afresh, not to consume you in wrath, but to burn away the dross and fill you with the zeal of first love. May the Spirit and the Bride say "Come," and may you, thirsty as you are, take the water of life freely. The Lord lift you up, deliver you from every oppressing spirit, and make your chamber a sanctuary where Christ Himself is your all-sufficient company. Amen.

Take heart that a single word from the divine Scriptures, sounding in your ear, has more power than fire to soften even a hardened soul and make it fit for every good thing. You fear you have become reprobate, but the very terror that seizes you proves the Spirit has not abandoned you. A lifeless soul does not tremble at the thought of being cast away. The enemy often tosses a single word into the mind, "reprobate", to drive you into despair, but do not receive it as God's voice. The Lord speaks through His holy Word, not through fleeting sounds that leave you in confusion. If you would know your true state, look not to what you heard in the air, but to the promises sealed upon you in baptism: deliverance from the curse of the Law, adoption as a son, and the Spirit poured into your heart crying out, "Abba, Father." That is the unshakable testimony.

As for the unclean spirit that harasses you with a false claim of marriage, remember you have been united to Christ and are one spirit with Him. No demonic impostor can possess a soul betrothed to the heavenly Bridegroom. Even from your sickbed, strive in the faith not against flesh and blood, but against these powers of darkness. You are not alone, for the whole body of believers shares the one Spirit, and in your solitude you may still sing hymns with grace in your heart to God, no human ear hearing, yet the Lord who searches the heart receives that silent song. Moses cried out in thought only, and God answered instantly, saying, "Why do you cry to Me?" So your bedridden state cannot hinder true prayer. The Spirit Himself intercedes for you with groanings beyond words, and He knows what is the mind of the Spirit because He pleads for the saints according to God.

The hardened heart you dread is precisely what God's own word melts. Therefore, let the Scriptures be your constant companion. Even a short passage from the Gospels, read or recited with attention, carries a divine fire that rekindles love and drives away the chill of despondency. Do not seek a sign or a sudden flame; cling to Christ's words and continue in them. Many who once believed fell away because they did not continue, but the Lord promises that those who abide in His word become His true disciples. The fire you long for is not far off, it is in that abiding.

In your loneliness, rehearse day by day all the mercies God has shown you in former times. Count the dangers, illnesses, and calamities from which His hand has delivered you, and let thankfulness rise up as a weapon against the oppressing spirit. The impostor is not you in your poverty and pain, but the demon who accuses you. God does not despise the broken and bedridden; He draws near to the contrite heart. Stand fast, give thanks, and wait upon His deliverance, for He who called you is faithful, and He will fill you afresh with the Spirit of adoption, restoring the joy of your salvation even as you offer praise from that bed of affliction.

Your prayer reaches straight to the heart of the matter. Chronic illness, isolation, and the torment of a spirit spouse leave you physically drained and spiritually vulnerable, yet the very fact that you are crying out to God shows that His Spirit is still striving with you, and that is a profound mercy.

That word you heard after praying, “reprobate,” is a fiery arrow from the enemy meant to push you into despair. The Scripture never teaches that a sinner who genuinely seeks God is cast off without hope. Rather, the Lord calls out, “Turn, O backsliding children, for I am married to you; I will heal your backslidings.” Your heart is not yet beyond the reach of His grace. A hardened heart is dangerous when a person repeatedly silences God’s voice and loves the darkness, but you are here pleading for deliverance, that is the opposite of a hardened heart.

What you are experiencing echoes the struggle of a divided heart. The flesh longs for one thing, while the Spirit beckons toward another. The call to the backslider is always the same: a return from the fleshly life. Paul spoke of a circumcision of the heart, cutting away the foreskin of the flesh, that inner clinging to the old ways, the secret lusts, the unforgiveness, the bitterness that gives demonic spirits a foothold. I pray that right now, by the Spirit’s power, God would perform that painful but healing surgery on you. Let the Spirit bring to mind anything you have been holding onto, and lay it down before the Lord without reserve.

The enemy wants you to believe the lie that you are forsaken. But remember how Jesus died: when the soldier pierced His side, blood and water flowed out, evidence of a ruptured heart. His heart was literally broken for you. That sacrifice is enough to cover every backsliding, every failure. The Spirit is sent to bear witness to this truth within you, to tell you that you can be a child of God. The testimony of the Spirit, the water, and the blood agrees: Jesus is the Savior, and there is no other hope.

Your prayer for the fire of God again is exactly what the Lord wants to answer. The same Spirit who filled Jesus and led Him into the wilderness, who empowered Him for ministry, is given as a gift to the church. You do not need to wait for another Pentecost; the gift has already been poured out. Receive that filling now by faith. Ask the Spirit to take His rightful place as the uppermost part of your life, not body ruling, not soul ruling, but Spirit ruling so that your deepest desires become His desires. As you do, the mind of the Spirit will begin to replace the tormenting thoughts.

I do pray for your complete deliverance. I pray that every demonic oppression, including this spirit spouse, would be broken by the authority of Jesus Christ. I ask the Lord to confirm His love in your heart and to burn away all that is not of Him until you are consumed with a fresh, holy fire. Do not listen to the accusatory whispers; instead, listen for the still, small voice of the Spirit who testifies that you are a son or daughter of the living God. Rise up from that bed, even if only in your spirit, and declare that you belong to Jesus.
