I haven’t sleep from last night to now

Godispowerful

Servant of All
I don’t know why I didn’t sleep last night. I was supposed to go to sleep at 3:00 am last night, but I didn’t. No more sleeping late for me.

We have heard your request and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in Jesus' name. We understand how weary and frustrating it feels to go a whole night without sleep and not even know why, and we want to stand with you for both rest for your body and peace for your mind.

God designed sleep as a gift and a blessing for us. He knows our frame and that we need rest to be restored. Psalm 127:2 tells us that it is vain to stay up late and to rise up early and eat the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones. Psalm 4:8 says we can lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Yahweh, make us dwell in safety. And Proverbs 3:24 promises when you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. When sleep escapes us it is often because our minds and hearts are restless, anxious, or out of rhythm, and the Lord invites us to bring those burdens to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 urges us in nothing to be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 5:7 also tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us.

We also want to encourage you in your desire to say no more sleeping late, for that is a good and wise resolve. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to steward them well, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us. Going to sleep at 3:00 am is very late and over time it disrupts the natural rhythm God gave our bodies for rest and work. We encourage you to seek a more consistent and earlier bedtime, to develop a peaceful evening routine, to turn away from screens and stimulation before bed, to avoid caffeine late in the day, and to make your room quiet and dark. Most of all, we encourage you to end your day with prayer, confessing any worries, thanking God for His mercies, and asking for His peace to guard your heart as you lie down.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true peace and rest for our souls. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we invite you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we can come boldly to God for help, for forgiveness, and for even the simple gift of sleep.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You see the sleepless night and the weariness that follows, and You know the reasons even when we do not. We ask You to grant deep, sweet, and uninterrupted sleep tonight and in the nights to come. Quiet any anxious thoughts, calm any restless heart, and let Your peace that passes all understanding guard heart and mind. Help our friend to establish healthy and disciplined rhythms of rest, to honor You with the body You have given, and to trust You with every care. Draw this one closer to Jesus, that they may know the true rest that only He can give for both body and soul. We thank You that You never slumber and that You watch over us through the night. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and our rest, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord each evening before you sleep and to be patient with yourself as your body adjusts to a healthier schedule. We are continuing to pray that the Lord will restore your strength and give you peaceful nights.

We hear how hard this past night has been, staying up when you had planned to be asleep by 3 and then carrying that tiredness into today. It makes sense you would feel worn out and want to make a change going forward.

Wanting to move away from sleeping late is a good, steady goal, and we want to encourage you in that without putting extra pressure on yourself for one rough night. Sleep touches every part of us, physically and spiritually, and one night without rest does not have to define what comes next.

One simple next step that may help is to jot down for the next few days when you go to bed, when you wake, and how you feel the next day. It is a plain record you can look at yourself and share with a pastor or, if this keeps happening, with your doctor alongside prayer. If sleeplessness becomes frequent or starts to affect your days, please reach out to a medical professional promptly.

We are praying for you and we are grateful you reached out.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. You see their tiredness and their desire for healthier rhythms. Grant them rest when they lie down, quiet their thoughts, and give wisdom for the days ahead. Lead them to helpful support when needed. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your weariness has been brought before the Lord and He marks the watches of the night. To pass a whole night without sleep is a sore trial for body and soul, and to not know the cause of it makes the heart more restless still. Yet there is a word that meets you in this very place, Rest in the LORD.

There is no such resting place anywhere else like that where Omnipotence and eternal love are sweetly joined together. The Lord would have you find even now that rest which belongs to His people. It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. And again, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is a present rest, rest now, not only rest after death, but rest given when we come to Jesus by an act of simple faith. In the blood and righteousness of Jesus our peace is made perfect, and when the conscience is quieted by that peace, the body itself is often quieted also, for so He gives His Beloved sleep.

You have said, No more sleeping late for me, and this is a wise and sober resolve. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. To be sure that what you are doing is what Jesus would have you do is peace. Part of that will is a holy discipline of the body, keeping regular hours, resigning the soul to the peace which the Holy Spirit brings, as one who reclines upon a soft couch provided by the Lord. Learn to rest in the will of God even in adversity, and to wait patiently for Him. Fret not yourself, but commit your night as well as your day to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps.

May the Lord teach you out of His law and give you rest from the days of adversity. May He quiet your thoughts when they would be as knives wounding the heart, and cause His Spirit to cause you to rest. When you lie down this night, pour out your heart before Him, confess every sin, cast every care upon Him, and trust Him to keep you. If sleep tarries, still rest in the Lord, for the rest of the soul is deeper than the rest of the body, and he who has the one shall in due season receive the other.

I pray that the Lord will bless you with peaceful sleep in its season, with a mind stayed upon Christ, and with a body strengthened for the duties He lays before you. May you find that to trust and to obey is to enter into rest.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
