I have no hope but Jesus Christ
We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join with you in lifting your pain and crisis before our Heavenly Father. You have rightly placed your hope in Jesus Christ alone, and we stand with you in that truth. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Your acknowledgment of Jesus as your only hope is a powerful declaration, and we praise God for your faith in Him.
We also recognize the depth of your pain, and we want to encourage you with the promise found in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." The Lord sees your suffering, and He is near to you, ready to pour out His mercy and comfort.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain and crisis. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, and we ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them right now. Father, we pray for Your mercy to flood their heart, mind, and spirit. You know the depths of their struggle, and we ask that You would deliver them from this place of despair.
Father, we ask for Your wisdom to guide their thoughts, words, and decisions. Give them strength to endure, and rule over every aspect of their life so that they may walk in alignment with Your will. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm them, and we declare that their hope is found in You alone. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray that You would hear their cry, read their heart, and move mightily on their behalf. Surround them with Your presence, and let them feel Your nearness in this difficult time. Father, we trust in Your faithfulness, and we believe that You will bring them through this crisis. Strengthen their faith, and let them experience Your love in a tangible way.
We also ask, Lord, that You would reveal any areas in their life where they may need to surrender more fully to You. If there is sin that needs to be confessed or repented of, bring it to light so that they may walk in freedom and restoration. We want to encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God. In Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord declares, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even in the midst of your pain, God has a plan for you, a plan for good and not for harm. Cling to His Word, and let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
We also encourage you to seek fellowship with other believers. The body of Christ is designed to support and uplift one another. In Hebrews 10:24-25, we are reminded, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." You do not have to walk through this alone, reach out to a trusted brother or sister in Christ, and let them walk alongside you.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your hope in Jesus Christ is not in vain. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and He is faithful to complete the good work that He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

There is a cry that reaches the throne of grace, a cry of one who has no hope but Jesus Christ, and such a cry is never despised. When you sink all your confidence in the creature and cast yourself wholly upon the Redeemer, you have placed yourself where mercy delights to look. The very pain that drives you to His feet is a dark messenger sent to do you good, for it empties you of self and makes room for the fullness of His grace.
You speak of being in crisis, of needing wisdom, strength, and deliverance. This is the very school in which Christ teaches His own. Do not say there is no hope, for there IS hope! There is certainty to every soul that trusts in Jesus. He who was bound for our offenses now sits at the right hand of the Father, and His tender mercy is as near to you as your own breath. The fountain flows freely for those who, having nothing in themselves, are willing to have everything in Christ Jesus.

Nothing so attracts the mercy of God as mercy shown from the heart. Even now, in this furnace of pain, do not let your own need become an excuse to neglect the needs of others. I do not speak of great sums, but of a cup of cold water, a kind word, a full forgiveness of every debt held against you. The merciful are the ones who obtain mercy; without this, prayer and fasting are a lamp without oil. You cry out for deliverance, and rightly so, but see that your cry is joined to the work that lightens the darkness. Give alms from what you have, however little, and your light will break forth as the morning.
The wisdom of this world is bankrupt. It leaves the soul in despair. But the wisdom of God, hidden and given to the perfect, is a strength made perfect in weakness. Your pain, your crisis, these are not signs of His absence but the very workshop where the Spirit shapes a child of God. He gave you the Spirit of adoption, so that from the depths you may cry, “Abba, Father.” He reads the heart even before the lips can form words. Therefore, do not enfeeble your soul with constant lamentation, as if hope had perished. Hope in Christ is an anchor; let it hold you firm.
I will not cease to warn, as long as I have breath: do works worthy of the mercy you seek. He who made the heavens through mere goodness will not despise a broken and contrite heart that shows what it has learned from Him. Let mercy be your mark, for there is nothing more characteristic of a Christian. In showing it, you receive it. Come out of this crisis, not only with your burden lifted, but with your soul cleansed by love. The Lord will rule your thoughts, words, and deeds; He will give wisdom and strength, for He is faithful, and the depth of His riches is without measure.

Your cry for mercy and wisdom in the midst of this pain and crisis is heard, and you have already spoken the truth that grounds every real hope: you have no hope but Jesus Christ. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. When you ask for wisdom, you are not reaching for a distant principle or a set of facts; you are reaching for the Lord Himself, because true wisdom is personified and perfected in Christ. He is the wisdom of God, and He delights to give Himself to those who cry out to Him. Your plea for the Father to rule your thoughts, words, actions, and decisions is the very path of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and that fear is not a cowering dread but a humble, reverent dependence that hates evil and clings to Him. You are on the right road when you turn every part of your life over to His rule.
The wisdom that comes from above is exactly what you need right now. It is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy. It does not come with the envy, strife, or frantic desperation that the world’s wisdom breeds. God’s wisdom will not lead you into deeper turmoil. Instead, it brings a quiet order into chaos, and it is full of mercy because it flows from the God who has already shown you boundless mercy in Christ. Mercy and truth have met together in Jesus. Because of Him, you do not come before God claiming your own holiness. You come as His servant, asking for the strength only He can give. David prayed this way when he was overwhelmed, crying out, “Turn unto me, have mercy upon me; give Your strength unto Your servant.” God’s response to such a prayer is always faithful. His strength is made perfect in your weakness. When you feel you have no inner resource left, that is the very moment His strength becomes your unfailing portion.
This trial has not escaped His notice, and He is not asking you to find some secret reserve within yourself. That kind of self-reliance will always fail. But if your trust is anchored in the Lord, His strength will carry you. He is your light when the way seems dark. He is your salvation when there is no other deliverance. He is the strength of your life, so you do not need to be afraid. Goodness and mercy are not just ideas; they follow you all the days of your life, through every crisis and every pain. All of the Lord’s paths for you are mercy and truth because you belong to Him. He has not forgotten you, and He never will. Through wisdom a house is built, a life is upheld, and the most impossible circumstances are navigated. Wisdom is the principal thing. Ask Him to pour out the Spirit of wisdom upon you, and He will order your steps. May His word be your strength, His presence your peace, and may you find that, as you seek Him early in the morning of this trial, He is already there with counsel, sound wisdom, and the mercy that renews you day by day.
