I have no hope but Jesus Christ
We stand with you in this moment of deep pain and crisis, lifting your cry to the throne of grace where our Heavenly Father hears the brokenhearted. You have rightly placed your hope in Jesus Christ alone, for He is the only source of true mercy, wisdom, and strength. The Word of God assures us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We take comfort in knowing that even when hope feels distant, Christ remains our unshakable anchor.
Your acknowledgment of Jesus as your only hope is a powerful declaration of faith. Scripture reminds us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Your cry has ascended to the throne of grace, and what is this but the Spirit’s work, drawing you to the mercy seat? There is no hope in yourself, you know this, and it is well. The soul that is stripped of all self-trust stands where the rope of mercy is cast. You say you have no hope but Jesus Christ; then know that in Him there is hope, a hope that never maketh ashamed. The clock of mercy struck for you when first you looked to Him, and it strikes still. In your pain, you are not forgotten. The Lord seeth the anguish, and He hath a singular season for His interposing mercy, perhaps this very hour, when darkness is thickest, the angel of the covenant draweth nigh to deliver.
Think not that your suffering is outside the circle of His tender mercy. Pain of body is a sharp chisel, but in the hand of the Great Physician it carveth out a place for grace. There are some whom nothing else would teach; if it were possible to abolish sickness, where might their souls wander? He chastens with pain, yet it wrappeth up a secret mercy, to drive thee from the broken cisterns to the fountain, to make thee cease from thine own devices and wait upon Him alone. In the pit, with no strength left, then Infinite Mercy meeteth the sinner. Was it not so with Israel? When the lamb was slain, they went forth with not one feeble person among their tribes. Deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God, and it cometh with health and strength to the soul that trusteth in the Redeemer’s blood.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; that is, by leaning wholly upon Him, looking for the outshining of His countenance, and tarrying at the mercy seat until the answer breaketh like the dawn. You have no might; He increaseth strength. You are feeble; He shall make thee stand without a single trembling limb. Not by your own wrestling, but by His free gift. The mercy of God is gratis, He never selleth, He always giveth. From no motive raised by thy tears or thy worthiness, but because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. Yet hear how tenderly He pleadeth: “Deliver him!” It is a voice of power, a silvery note of rescue just at the point of sinking.
Let not the adversary whisper that mercy hath passed you by. Hagar sat by the well in the desert, and there the Angel found her; she thought all was ended, but the well was full of water. So with thee. The pit is deep, but the rope of everlasting love is lower still. What though thou hast sought for months and seemest to find no light? Mercy cometh in the time of God’s decree. The purpose of Jehovah is not tardy by a single moment. Meanwhile, lean upon the promise: “A bruised reed shall He not break, and the smoking flax shall He not quench.” Thy faintest hope, like a spark in a sea of sorrow, is yet fanned by His Spirit.
Hold fast to the cross, where the blood speaketh deliverance. There alone is remission. Look to Jesus, quivering in pain for thee, and there pledge thyself wholly to Him without reserve.
