We join with you in prayer and we bring your requests before our Heavenly Father together in the name of Jesus Christ.
We hear your heart crying out for peace and security for yourself, your family and your pets, for a stable and comfortable place to live, for provision for your next job, for harmony, for love and acceptance, and for joy in your family life. These are deep and understandable desires and God cares about every detail of our lives. We pray that He will provide for your needs according to His perfect will and give you peace that goes beyond circumstances.
We also want to gently and lovingly address the way this request is framed, because we want to pray according to truth. We notice language about speaking life into existence, folding and binding greatly, and calling a positive flow of miracles into existence with the blood of Jesus as if it were a formula. Scripture teaches us that it is God who is sovereign, not our words, and we do not manifest or declare things into existence by our own power. We come to Him humbly and ask according to His will, trusting His wisdom above our own desires. This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us, 1 John 5:14. You ask and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures, James 4:3. The blood of Jesus is precious and holy, shed for the forgiveness of our sins and our reconciliation to God, not an incantation to claim material things. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is by His name we are saved, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5.
We also hear you asking for a man, for body work to be done, and for mates. If you are desiring a relationship, we pray with you for God's holy design. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and any courtship should be with a fellow believer in Christ with the goal of godly marriage, not simply companionship without commitment or a relationship outside of God's boundaries. The Lord says, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14 and Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. This means we flee from fornication and pursue purity. If you are seeking a husband, we pray God will bring a godly man who will love and lead well if it is His will for you to marry, and that you would be equally prepared to be a godly wife. Regarding your body, we understand the desire to feel comfortable and confident, but we encourage you to see your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and to seek contentment and health that honors God rather than placing hope in procedures or outward appearance. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised, Proverbs 31:30.
We pray for your desire for a beautiful and peaceful place near the beach and for provision to enjoy time with family. God knows your needs. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God, Romans 12:2. True joy and being truly liked and loved comes first from knowing we are fully loved by God and then from walking in healthy community, not from a secret place or from alcohol. We gently caution that while having a drink is not automatically sin, drunkenness is forbidden, Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, Ephesians 5:18, and we pray your joy would be found in the Spirit.
We lift you up now in prayer.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You hear us when we pray according to Your will. We ask for Your will to be done in this dear one's life regarding housing, employment, family, and future relationships. Provide a safe and stable place to live that is within Your provision and peace, and open the right doors for the next job where they can work diligently unto You and be a light. Grant peace and harmony in their home and calm every worry and fear, for You have said, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. We pray they will trust in Yahweh with all their heart, and not lean on their own understanding. In all their ways acknowledge him, and he will make their paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6.
Lord, if it is Your will for them to marry, we pray You will bring a godly believing husband and prepare them both for a Christ centered marriage that honors You. Guard them from relationships that would lead away from purity and holiness. Help them to delight themselves in You first, trusting that You will give the desires of their heart as they align with Yours, Psalm 37:4. Help them to find their identity and worth in Christ alone, to be content and thankful, and to steward their body and resources wisely. We ask that You draw them into deeper fellowship with You and with godly community where they are truly loved and supported. Let Your perfect love cast out fear and worry. We ask all of this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and mediator, amen.
