I don't like to see my life get hard for no reason.

Godispowerful

Servant of All
You can see why this period weighs more heavily on me, since I should not face such difficulty while being broke. I merit more than money, and God acknowledges this.

We hear the heaviness in your words and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand how discouraging it is to face hardship while also facing financial lack, and we want to gently correct some of the thinking in your request so that you can find true peace and hope in God's will.

You say that your life is hard for no reason and that you should not face such difficulty while being broke, and that you merit more than money and God acknowledges this. We must lovingly rebuke the idea that we merit anything from God or that hardship is ever without purpose. Scripture teaches us that for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 and that it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast Ephesians 2:8-9. We do not merit favor or money or an easy life, we receive everything as grace from a merciful Father. Your true worth is not measured in money but in that you are made in God's image and that Christ died for you, yet even that worth does not mean God owes us comfort on our terms.

We also want to encourage you that no difficult period is for no reason in God's economy. Even when we cannot see it, God is at work. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. And we are told to count it all joy when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance James 1:2-3. Hardship, including financial hardship, can refine us, teach us dependence, and draw us closer to Him. It is not a sign that God has forgotten you or that He agrees you deserve better, it is often His loving discipline and shaping.

You say God acknowledges you merit more, but what God acknowledges is that you need Him more than money. He sees your struggle and cares deeply for you, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. He has promised to supply your needs, not necessarily all your wants, and my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Our call is not to demand what we think we merit, but to seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, and to learn contentment in whatever state we are, as Paul said I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound and I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me Philippians 4:11-13.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. To come to God we must come through faith in Jesus, confessing our sin, believing He died and rose again, and trusting Him alone for salvation and for daily provision.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We confess that we often feel entitled to ease and abundance and we ask You to forgive us for thinking we merit anything apart from Your grace. We thank You that You see this person in this heavy period of being broke and facing difficulty and that You care. We ask You to give a renewed mind to see hardship not as meaningless but as a tool in Your loving hands to produce endurance and character and hope. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, grant wisdom for stewardship and work, and teach contentment and trust whether abounding or in need. Help this one to seek You first and to find true worth and joy in Christ rather than in money or ease. Draw this heart to salvation and deeper fellowship through Jesus alone, and let Your peace guard heart and mind. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your needs honestly to God through Jesus, to trust that He has a purpose even in this hard season, to be diligent in the work He has given you to do, and to rest not in what you think you merit but in the unmerited grace He freely offers in Christ.

We hear how heavy this season feels for you, and how being broke makes every difficulty feel heavier. When money is tight, even small hardships can feel like too much to carry, so it makes sense this period weighs on you.

We also hear you saying you are worth more than what is in your bank account, and that matters. Your dignity and value are not set by your finances, and God sees you fully in this hard place, not just the struggle.

One thing that has helped others when the financial pressure builds is to get a second set of eyes on the practical side. If you have a trusted pastor, church business manager, or a local community agency that offers free financial counseling, sitting down to look at a simple budget or next steps can sometimes ease a bit of the weight and give a clearer path forward, while we keep praying for wisdom and provision.

We are praying for you and holding you before the Lord.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. You know the strain of this season and the need they feel. Give them peace, wisdom for each decision, and reminders of their worth in You. Guide their steps and provide for what they need day by day. Amen.

The heaviness you feel when life grows hard and the purse is empty is a trial many saints have known, and it is right to bring it honestly before the Lord. Yet there is a word which may help your soul more than any promise of ease.

You write that you merit more than money and that God acknowledges this. Let me entreat you to consider what true humility teaches. Humility is not to think falsely against yourself, but to form a right estimate of yourself before God. It is not humility for a man to claim as due what is in truth of grace alone. The throne of humility must be the heart, and that humility must be genuine, not merely living in the face. Before honor is humility, and that honor comes not to those who assert merit, but to those who lie low and confess that all we receive is mercy. We merit nothing at His hands but He in Christ has merited all for us. To see this is not to degrade you, but to lift you to the place where prayer prevails, for prostrate before the throne is the proper attitude of prayer and in humility is our strength for supplication.

You also say you should not face such difficulty while being broke. Remember that a man's contentment is in his mind, not in the extent of his possessions. Alexander with all the world at his feet cries for another world to conquer, while the poorest believer may have peace within. Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. It does not grow of itself in hard soil. His faith who trusts a sovereign God has as much peaceful contentment in his breast while the tribulation lasts as when it has closed, for he knows the Lord appoints and measures every trial and will sanctify it for good.

I beseech you then in your humble sphere to cultivate contentment and to serve the Lord with all humility, humility before the act, humility during the service, and humility when all is done. Be not idle. Seek if you can by superior skill, steady perseverance and temperate thriftiness to raise your position, and at the same time learn to say with the apostle, I have learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content. Faith and humility may go hand in hand like a brave brother and a fair sister, the one bold as a lion laying hold on the promise, the other meek as a dove blushing at self. Like the centurion, may you be content with a word from Christ and yet feel unworthy of that word.

My prayer for you is not that God would confirm a claim of merit, but that He would give you the gift of true humility and the flower of contentment, that you may pray as Jacob did with lowliness and confidence, and that you may find Christ Himself to be your portion, which is more than money can ever be. May the Lord who loves humility and authors faith keep you through this trying period and make even its hardness to work for your eternal good.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

I don't like to see a bald spot on my head because it makes me feel so uncomfortable when I go out anywhere public and I am so tired of cutting my hair on my own bald head because hair grows so fast.
