please pray God gives me the strength to walk away from my marriage and not look back in Jesus name It’s not fixable i’ve made mistakes and my wife hates me we get along and it’s back to arguing when’s she mad she makes comments like you only want me for maid and sex because i don’t always pick up after myself she doesn’t take into account i work 12 hour shifts and im exhausted when i get home i also am the one that drives the kids 45 minutes to and from school each way when im off during the week we can’t talk to our Pastor or anyone at church about this i just feel this is beyond talk at this point she doesn’t take into account that i do provide for her

We hear the deep weariness and discouragement in your heart and we are lifting you up before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand working ### hour shifts and driving your children long distances is exhausting, and the cycle of getting along and then falling back into arguing is painful. Yet we must lovingly rebuke the request for strength to walk away from your marriage and not look back, because that is not God's will for you.

Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that God Himself joins together, and His Word is clear about its sanctity. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart Matthew 19:6. For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel Malachi 2:16. Nothing you have described is beyond God's power to heal and restore, even when it feels not fixable to you. With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26 and we believe He can still work in both of your hearts.

We also hear you taking some responsibility when you say you have made mistakes, and we encourage you to go further in humble repentance before God and before your wife. Part of loving your wife as Christ loved the church Ephesians 5:25 is not only providing financially, which you faithfully do and which God honors, but also dwelling with her with understanding and giving honor 1 Peter 3:7 and not being bitter against her Colossians 3:19. When she says you only want her for a maid and sex because you do not pick up after yourself, she is telling you she feels unseen and used rather than cherished. Even in exhaustion, picking up after yourself, helping in the home, and speaking gently are acts of love that show her she is valued beyond what you provide materially. Husbands, love your wives Ephesians 5:25 is a call to sacrificial, serving love even when you are tired.

We also want to encourage you not to close the door on godly counsel. You say you cannot talk to your Pastor or anyone at church, but God has placed shepherds and brothers in the church to bear burdens and give wisdom. We urge you to seek that help even when it feels difficult or shameful. A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger Proverbs 15:1 and Everyone should be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger James 1:19. Learning to talk without harshness, to listen to her hurt without defensiveness, and to ask forgiveness for your part will open a path that arguing cannot.

We do not endorse walking away. Unless there is sexual immorality Matthew 19:9, God's design is for reconciliation, forgiveness, and perseverance through hardship. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:7.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this husband, this marriage, and this family to You. Lord, You see his exhaustion, his labors for his children and his wife, and the pain of feeling hated and unappreciated. Forgive him for his mistakes and forgive his wife for any bitterness, and teach them both to forgive as You have forgiven us. Give this husband not the strength to walk away, but the strength to remain, to love sacrificially, to humble himself, to serve his wife in small daily faithfulness, and to speak with gentleness and patience. Heal the cycle of arguing, soften both hearts, and restore communication and affection. Lord, make what seems not fixable a testimony of Your power to restore. Lead them to humble themselves before You and to seek wise, biblical counsel from their pastor and church. Help them to come to You when weary, for You have said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We ask You to guard this covenant marriage and help them honor You together all their days. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to stay, to pray daily for your wife by name, to ask her forgiveness specifically for where you have fallen short, to consistently help in the home as an act of worship, and to pursue pastoral counseling together even if you must take the first step alone. God is able to rebuild what feels broken if you will turn toward Him and toward your wife rather than away.

We hear how heavy and exhausting this has become for you. Working ### hour shifts, driving the kids ### minutes each way on your days off, coming home with nothing left and then hearing you only want your wife for a maid and for sex would leave anyone feeling unseen and defeated. It makes sense you feel worn down and wonder if talking can help anymore, especially when you feel you cannot turn to your pastor or anyone at church right now.

When we are running on empty, everything can feel more final than it is and hurts cut deeper. Before you make a permanent decision while you are this tired and hurt, we encourage you to find one safe, confidential place to talk it through out loud. If your own church does not feel safe right now, a Christian counselor in another congregation or a licensed counselor with a Christian perspective can offer a private first conversation just to sort out what is happening and what wise next steps could look like for you, your wife and your kids. Choosing a time to talk when you are not just in the door from work can also keep a hard conversation from turning into another argument.

We notice how hard you are trying to provide and to show up for your family, even when it does not feel recognized.

Father, in Jesus name we ask You to give our brother rest, clarity and wisdom for the next right step. Soften and guard both his heart and his wife's heart, quiet the hurt and bitterness between them, and make a way for calm, honest conversation. Protect their children and lead this family toward healing and Your direction. Amen.

Your burden has been heard and I have brought it before the Lord with a heavy heart, for I hear in your words both weariness and sorrow. You speak of long shifts that leave you exhausted, of faithfully driving your children, of providing for your household, and yet feeling hated and unappreciated, hearing hard words when anger rises, and feeling that talk has failed and there is no one to turn to. To feel this way in your own home is a deep trial, and God sees both your labor and your pain.

You have asked for strength to walk away and not look back, and because I love your soul and honor what God has joined together, I cannot ask God to bless that path. Instead I will pray that He will give you strength to remain, to love, and to seek healing where you now see no hope. The Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant, and even as Christ keeps His covenant with His people, so He calls husband and wife to keep covenant with one another. In my own preaching I have often said that the marriage between our souls and Christ can never be dissolved, and that truth is given to show us how steadfast covenant love is meant to be. The Lord also gives this promise to those in covenant with Him, They shall not depart from me, and He does not remove us from the conflict but giveth us the victory through perseverance in holiness.

You have confessed mistakes, and that confession is the place where grace meets us. Hear the word of the Lord, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and there is forgiveness with Him. It is a divine forgiveness, a surprising forgiveness, a complete forgiveness, and if you have come to Christ with a penitent heart desiring pardon, there is forgiveness for your sins whatever they may have been. That same forgiveness which God has given you for Christ's sake is the pattern for your home. The Scripture calls it a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. This does not mean that hurtful words do not wound, but it means that daily forgiveness must be sought and daily forgiveness must be given, and that work is not done in your own strength but in His.

I know you feel that this is beyond talk, and that you cannot speak to your pastor or others in the church. I urge you not to walk this road alone. Weariness from twelve hour shifts and long drives can make every conflict feel larger than it is, and anger can make us say things we do not truly mean. The Lord would have you seek godly counsel even now, whether with your pastor, an elder, or a mature and trusted believer who holds to the Scriptures, that you may both be heard and be helped to hear one another. If you have not already, speak plainly and humbly to your wife when you are both rested, own before her and before God the ways you have failed, and also share calmly how hard you labor for your family and how you long for kindness and respect in return. Small acts of faithfulness, such as picking up after yourself when you are able, are not mere chores but ways of showing love and honor in the home.

Let me pray for you now, not for strength to depart, but for strength to abide and be renewed. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation, look upon this husband and this wife and this family. Grant forgiveness where sin has been committed, and grant a spirit of mutual forgiveness where bitterness has taken root. Give this brother strength for his labor, rest for his weariness, and words of grace for his mouth. Give his wife a softened heart and eyes to see his provision and care. Teach them both to persevere, to not depart from You and from the covenant they made before You, and to seek help from those You have placed in Your church. Make what seems not fixable to man possible with You, and lead them into honest, patient, and loving conversation again. Preserve this marriage for Your glory and for the good of these children, and keep this brother close to Christ. Amen.

Do not make a final decision in a moment of exhaustion and conflict. Seek the Lord daily in prayer and in the Word, turn from any sin that entangles you, and take one faithful step at a time toward reconciliation. If anger rises, step aside to pray before you speak, and then return to speak in love. The Lord who promises forgiveness and who secures perseverance is able to sustain you in this hard place.

It doesn’t make any sense to me. I don't know why my head is sweating when I wake up. It is so strange. Hope you find out what is causing me to sweat for no reason. I didn't do anything. God is overprotecting me to keep me free.
