I deserve more than that

We hear your frustration and pain, and we want you to know that your worth is not defined by your circumstances or the systems of this world. The Bible tells us in Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." You are a child of the Most High God, created with purpose and value that far exceeds any earthly measure.

It is understandable to feel distrust toward systems that may seem broken or unjust, but we must remember that our ultimate trust is in the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even when earthly systems fail us, God remains faithful. He sees your struggles and knows your needs, and He promises to provide for you.

We also want to gently remind you that bitterness and resentment can weigh heavily on the heart. Ephesians 4:31-32 encourages us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Holding onto anger toward the Social Security Administration or any system will not bring peace or resolution. Instead, we encourage you to release these burdens to God and ask Him to fill your heart with His peace.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is feeling overwhelmed and undervalued. Lord, we know that You see his/her struggles and that You care deeply for him/her. We ask that You would remind him/her of Your love and provision. Help him/her to trust in You, even when earthly systems seem unfair or broken. Father, we pray that You would provide for his/her needs according to Your riches in glory. Give him/her peace that surpasses all understanding and guard his/her heart from bitterness and resentment.

Lord, we also ask that You would guide him/her in wisdom as he/she navigates this season. Show him/her the steps to take and open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Remind him/her that his/her worth is found in You alone, not in the opinions or systems of this world. Fill him/her with hope and assurance that You are working all things together for his/her good.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, Father. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to seek His guidance in this season. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." You are not forgotten, and God has a plan for your life that is greater than your current circumstances. Lean on Him, and He will sustain you. If you have not already, we also encourage you to seek out a local church community where you can find support, encouragement, and practical help. God often works through His people to meet the needs of His children.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Waiting on disability benefits can feel like being stuck in a maze where the walls keep moving, and when the system itself feels untrustworthy, that only makes it harder. We’re not going to pretend it’s small.

One thing we’ve seen over many years is that anger in the middle of a disability can actually be a sign that you’re still engaged, still hoping for what’s right. That’s not wrong. Often the people who end up coldest toward God are the ones who never let themselves feel the anger in the first place. So don’t be afraid to take these strong emotions straight to him, he can handle them and he sees exactly what you’re up against.

One practical step you might consider is finding a Christ-centered support group or even a disability advocate who understands the Social Security process inside and out. Other believers who’ve walked this road can be lifelines: they know which doors to knock on, how to appeal decisions, and simply how to listen without offering cheap answers. That kind of community can keep you from feeling alone in the struggle and may help you find a fairer outcome.

Lord Jesus, you see this person’s frustration and weariness. Grant them steady peace even when the system fails them, and put trustworthy people in their path who can help navigate these challenges. Provide for every genuine need, and let your justice and mercy be felt in ways we can’t imagine right now. We ask this in your name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The thought that you "deserve more" is a snare, for if you stand upon your deserving before the living God, you will find yourself bankrupt indeed. We deserve nothing but wrath, yet He gives more grace, more grace to the humble heart that ceases to make demands and instead pleads the merit of Christ alone. When you say the Social Security Administration is dirty, I hear the echo of a Martha, cumbered with much serving, fretting over provision and speaking as we ought not to speak. The more we fix our gaze upon the supposed injustices of earthly systems, the more we lose our humility and our peace.

Your real need is not for a fatter cheque from a broken cistern, but to drink deeply from the fountain of living waters. He gives more grace: grace to trust Him when the appointed means seem meager, grace to conquer bitterness by doing good to those you deem your enemies, grace to find your treasure in Christ when earthly channels fail. What if this very trial is His appointment to exercise your faith, to make you more than a conqueror through Him that loved you? The conqueror fights for selfish victory, but the saint conquers by patient endurance, praising God more and more even in straitness.

Forget your quarrel with the Administration, what does it profit a man to win that battle and lose the sweet communion that comes by yielding all to the King? He who by His death reconciled you when you were an enemy will, much more, being reconciled, save you by His life, His endless, interceding, providing life. Look not to the government's tables for your portion, but to the feast where still there is room. Come to Him by faith again, empty-handed, claiming no deserving, and He will fill your mouth with praise and your life with such abundance that you will marvel you ever pinned your hopes on man's justice.

You speak of what you deserve, but consider what the Lord deserves from you. A contrite heart, a spirit of trust in His provision, not this demand for more. When we offer prayers and requests that are mingled with contempt for what has been given, is it not like bringing unclean things to His altar? It is better to receive little with thanksgiving than to claim much with a heart full of accusation and bitterness. You say the administration is dirty and untrustworthy, but where is the proof of this in your own words? You heap up fire against yourself by speaking evil when there is need of correction only in your own spirit. Do not be hated for nothing by nursing this slander; it is no care of theirs, but a sickness in your own soul.

Fix your will upon God with a sincere resolution. Abraham trusted and it was counted to him as righteousness, not because he received all he might have demanded, but because he stretched out his affections toward God. You ask for more money, yet you neglect the meat which endures unto everlasting life. You labor for the food that perishes, seeking a full belly and an ease that does not last. Why let your soul be swallowed up in this tempest over temporal things? There is no necessity in this distrust. You choose it. As we trust some men on their character without any oath, so too we should trust God’s providence without this constant suspicion of those He permits to govern earthly affairs.

Turn your diligence to what truly matters. Have you shown a fervor for grace that is proportionate to the baptism you have received? For the one who washed off her sins and then shut herself away in self-restraint, even the sight of her former lovers was denied. This is the self-restraint that follows Christ, not merely fortitude in poverty, but a temperance that governs all desires. There is nothing to hinder you from becoming great and admirable, but it will not come by claiming dirtiness in others while your own heart remains unexamined. Let the matter of your correction be brief, and your forbearance toward the situation be abundant.

It is hard when the systems we depend on seem to fall short, and even harder when they appear corrupted by the very people who should serve honestly. The frustration you feel is not unusual, and the Bible acknowledges that human government in every form eventually breaks down under the weight of greed and self-interest. The corruption in the world is driven by lust and the grasping of power, and no institution run by fallen men can ultimately deliver the perfect justice or provision we long for.

But this reality is also a call: do not place your final trust in a human agency, no more than Israel was to trust in Egypt’s chariots or in alliances that would fail. When we lean on the strength of the flesh, it will let us down, and we will fall with it. The woe of Scripture is for those who put their confidence in what man can do, rather than in the living God. Hezekiah faced an overwhelming army, and human logic screamed for a political solution, yet the word came again and again: “Trust in the Lord.” God was faithful to deliver in a way no treaty could accomplish.

You believe you deserve more, and I understand the ache of that feeling. But we must also consider what any of us truly deserve apart from God’s mercy. The old covenant showed that man could not keep the law; we all fall short. The only secure provision for our deepest needs, forgiveness, eternal hope, and daily care, comes through Jesus Christ alone. His resurrection guarantees that corruption will not have the final word, for He rose from the grave and one day we who trust in Him will put on incorruption. This present world, with all its broken systems, will be set right under the rule of Christ.

So while you are right to see the dirtiness of man’s attempts to govern, let that disappointment push you toward the only trustworthy refuge. The psalmist cried, “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be put to confusion.” Real trust is not just when God works in ways I understand or prefer; it is when I do not see the outcome but still say, “Lord, I know You are working. I don’t understand what You are doing, but keep doing it.” Your situation with disability support is a heavy burden, but God is not blind to it. He supplies what we need, often through unexpected means, and He asks us to bring our requests to Him and then leave the outcome in His hands.

Do not let a corrupt system steal your peace or define your worth. Your hope is not in an agency’s fairness but in the God who raised Jesus from the dead and who has promised never to leave His people. Turn your eyes from the failure of men and place your trust wholly in the Lord. He sees, He cares, and He will not let your soul seek after emptiness. Let your prayer be, “Preserve me, O God, for in Thee do I put my trust,” and then watch for His faithful provision in ways you may not yet expect.
