Husbands forgiveness

I know I made a mistake. I repent it deeply and utterly. I know I hurt him like never. Please ease his heart so that we can mediate. I'm ready to appreciate him as I always should have, despite of any circumstance. In the mighty name if Jesus... God please.. hear my promise. Amen.

We join with you in prayer before our heavenly Father and we thank Him for your humble and repentant heart. It is a beautiful thing when we come before God with a broken and contrite spirit, for we know that The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17. We also rejoice that you have come in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and heard.

We see your deep sorrow for the hurt you have caused your husband and your desire to make things right and to appreciate him as God calls you to do. This is the fruit of true repentance. Scripture tells us If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. God has forgiven you as you have confessed to Him, and now He calls you to walk in that forgiveness with humility and love toward your husband.

Marriage is a sacred and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, designed by God to reflect the love of Christ for the church. Within that covenant God calls wives to respect their husbands and husbands to love their wives sacrificially. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Ephesians 5:33. Your promise to appreciate him despite any circumstance honors God and aligns with His will for a godly marriage. We encourage you to continue to show that appreciation not only in words but in daily actions, in patience, kindness and selfless service, so that your repentance may be seen as genuine and lasting.

We also pray for your husband, that God would soften his heart and prepare him for mediation and reconciliation. Forgiveness can be difficult when hurt runs deep, but God commands us and empowers us to forgive as He has forgiven us. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Colossians 3:13. We pray that he will be able to extend that same grace, remembering that For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14.

As you seek to mediate, we encourage you to do so with gentleness and humility, inviting Godly counsel if needed from a pastor or mature believing couple. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1. Approach him without demanding forgiveness but with a continued spirit of confession and love, and be patient as God works in his heart in His perfect timing. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. James 5:16.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear sister and her husband to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You see her tears and her truly repentant heart and You have heard her promise to honor and appreciate her husband. We ask You to wash her in Your forgiveness and give her strength to walk faithfully in that promise every day. Lord, we ask You to ease her husband's heart, to heal the hurt he carries, to soften any bitterness or anger and to give him the grace to forgive as You have forgiven him. Draw them both close to You and close to each other. Let their mediation be filled with Your peace, with honest and gentle words, and with a renewed commitment to their marriage covenant. Restore trust between them, rebuild what has been broken, and let their marriage bring honor to You. Help them to love each other as Christ loves us, faithfully and unconditionally. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear how heavy this is for you and how sincerely you want to make things right with your husband. Owning the hurt you caused and wanting to appreciate him more fully takes real humility, and we are praying for you in that posture.

We know you are hoping his heart will soften quickly so you can talk things through. In our experience forgiveness often unfolds in layers. A person may decide to forgive as a choice before the painful feelings have fully eased, and rebuilding trust takes time and consistent care from both sides. That does not mean hope is lost, it means patience and gentleness matter a lot right now.

One practical way forward you mentioned is mediation, and that can be very helpful. If he is willing, consider asking if the two of you could meet once with a neutral, trusted pastor or counselor who can help keep the conversation calm and focused on listening. Go in ready to listen more than explain, to acknowledge the hurt without defending, and to share your commitment to appreciate him going forward.

We are carrying you both before the Lord.

Father, we bring this wife and her husband to You in Jesus name. Soften what is hurt and hardened, grant wisdom and calm for any conversation ahead, and help her to walk out repentance with steadiness and grace. Lead them toward healing according to Your will. Amen.

We have heard your humble and sorrowful confession before the Lord, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer at the throne of grace.

You say that you repent deeply and utterly for the hurt you have caused your husband. Take care to weigh your repentance in the balances of truth. There is a repentance that is of the flesh, a carnal repentance brought forth by fear or by judgment, and there is a repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God in the renewed heart. True repentance gives God glory. It stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven in Christ, and then it grieves more deeply than before, saying, I know my sins are forgiven, but now their pain to me is all the grief and anguish they laid upon my Lord. That is repentance after a godly sort, a repentance that needs not to be repented of. It does not look to self, but looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only. It purges the soul from dead works and brings forth works meet for repentance, a practical repentance that lasts and proves itself not in words only but in a new life. Ask before the Lord whom no man can deceive whether your sorrow is of this kind, a repentance unto life that abhors sin because it was committed against so holy and so good a God, and that avoids present sin because of the love of God who died for us.

And be assured of this blessed truth, there is forgiveness with God. It is not left as a moot point for us to discover. There is forgiveness, and it is divine forgiveness, for He says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, so full and free that God Himself sets it forth as a wonder, and it is complete forgiveness. The debt is not merely deferred but blotted out for His own sake through the blood of Jesus, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Whatever your sin has been, if you come with a penitent heart and put your trust in Christ, there is forgiveness for you now, and He not only forgives at the first but continues daily to forgive, for His forgiveness is an eternal forgiveness. This is the fountain from which all true repentance flows. Evangelical repentance is one of the fruits of the Gospel of forgiveness and no other tree can produce it.

We will pray that the Lord will deal graciously with your husband also. It is the calling of those who have received so much forgiveness to forgive one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us. It is as it were a joint business of mutual forgiveness among Christians, and for those who have known so much manifest forgiveness, to forgive should become as natural as to open the hand. We pray that God will ease his heart, take away hardness and bitterness, and make a way for you to mediate together in meekness and honesty. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman before God, and the Lord delights to heal and restore what sin has wounded when hearts are humbled before Him.

May the Lord grant you grace to keep the promise you have made, to appreciate your husband as you ought, despite any circumstance, not in your own strength but in the strength which Christ supplies to those who abide in Him. May your repentance be proved by a life that builds up what was pulled down, and may your home be ordered in love and faithfulness.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness that Thou mayest be feared, look in mercy upon this daughter who confesses her fault and seeks Thy face. Wash her in the blood of Christ and give her that repentance unto life which glorifies Thee. Soften, we beseech Thee, the heart of her husband, and grant to them both a spirit of forgiveness and forbearance. Lead them to mediation that is honest and peaceable, and restore to them the unity that belongs to the covenant of marriage. Teach them to walk henceforth in newness of life, bearing fruit meet for repentance, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose mighty name we ask it. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your repentance offered so deeply and sincerely is not hidden from God, for He sees the heart that turns to Him in truth. There is great hope in this, because God has provided forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, and when we taste that heavenly gift with a broken and honest heart, He is able to wash away our sins and make us new. Hold fast to that mercy and let your promise be shown not only in words but in a changed life.

Scripture teaches that the marriage bond is a lifelong covenant, where the wife is bound to her husband and the husband to his wife, and where each is called to give due honor to the other. When that bond is wounded, the way of restoration is not pride or outward display, but gentleness, meekness, humility and steadfast love. If you desire to please and to honor your husband as God intends, let it be seen in quiet faithfulness, in respect, in patience, and in a life ordered with virtue and grace. Such things win the heart far more than any other effort, and they reflect the work of Christ within you.

I will pray for you and for your husband, that God would soften his heart, calm what has been hurt, and open a way for you to speak together with peace and understanding. May the Lord give you both a spirit of forgiveness, guard you from further harm, and help you to be reconciled where there has been distance. If it is possible, seek wise and godly mediation together, perhaps with a faithful pastor, so that you may hear one another with honesty and love, and commit again to cherish one another as God has joined you.

Continue to bring your sorrow and your hope before Christ, asking Him to be present in your marriage. He is the one who joins husband and wife and who sustains them, and He delights to be sought in such matters. Trust Him, remain faithful in prayer, and walk in the repentance you have professed, showing daily by your actions the appreciation and love you have promised. May God in His mercy hear your prayer, grant healing to your home, and lead you both into deeper holiness and joy together in Jesus name. Amen.
