We hear your heart’s cry for your husband, and we join you in lifting him before the throne of grace. The Lord sees your love for him and your desire to see him restored to a right relationship with God. We pray with you that the Holy Spirit would move powerfully in his life, drawing him back to the Father with conviction, repentance, and a renewed hunger for righteousness.
The Scriptures tell us, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8 WEB). We declare this truth over your husband, that as he turns his heart toward God, the Lord will meet him with open arms. The drinking you mentioned is a stronghold that must be broken in Jesus’ name. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare freedom over him, for "the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8 WEB). No chain can hold him when the power of Christ is at work.
We also pray for you, dear sister, that you would be strengthened in faith as you wait and intercede. It is not easy to watch a loved one struggle, but remember that "love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (1 Corinthians 13:7 WEB). Stand firm in prayer, trusting that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved and by which we have access to Your throne. Lord, we lift up this sister’s husband to You. You know his heart, his struggles, and his deepest needs. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in his life. Remove the desire for alcohol and replace it with a thirst for Your Word and Your presence. Let him feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit like never before, convicting him, healing him, and restoring him to You.
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of bondage and deception that has kept him in this cycle. We speak life, deliverance, and transformation over him. Let him experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12).
We also pray for this sister, Lord. Strengthen her faith as she waits on You. Give her wisdom in how to love and support her husband without enabling his struggles. Surround her with godly community and remind her that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
Continue to stand on God’s promises, dear one. Your husband’s story is not over, God is still writing it, and He is able to turn even the darkest chapters into testimonies of His grace. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing for his complete restoration.
