Husband

Humble Servant of All
Please pray urgently for my husband to stop being angry and to stop drinking. Please make him submit to you for forgiveness.

We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister in Christ, and we stand with you in fervent prayer for your husband. The weight of anger and the grip of alcohol can be heavy chains, not only for him but for your entire household. We lift him before the Lord, asking for His mighty intervention, for "the king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1). May your husband’s heart be softened and turned toward repentance and healing.

The Bible is clear that anger that is not righteous—anger that controls rather than being controlled—leads only to destruction. "A man of great wrath will bear the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again" (Proverbs 19:19). Drinking to excess is also warned against in Scripture, as it dulls the spirit and leads to poor judgment: "Don’t be among those who drink too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat; for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags" (Proverbs 23:20-21). These struggles are not just personal failings but spiritual battles, and we must confront them with the truth of God’s Word.

We rebuke the spirit of anger and addiction in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against your husband—or your marriage—shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that he would come to a place of brokenness before the Lord, recognizing his need for a Savior. Only in Christ can true transformation occur. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his sin and draw him to repentance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

We also pray for you, sister. The burden of loving a husband who is struggling in these ways can be overwhelming. You are not alone. "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). Lean on the Lord for strength, wisdom, and patience as you walk this difficult path. Set boundaries where necessary, for even love must be wise: "Above all things, take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one" (Ephesians 6:16).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this sister’s husband to You. Lord, You see the anger that rages within him and the grip that alcohol has on his life. We ask that You break these chains in the mighty name of Jesus. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Let him see the destruction his actions are causing—not only to himself but to his family—and let him turn to You for healing and restoration.

Father, we pray for Your Holy Spirit to fill him with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Replace his anger with Your love, his bitterness with Your joy, and his addiction with self-control, which is a fruit of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Help him to submit to You, Lord, and to seek forgiveness—not only from You but from his wife and family.

We also pray for this sister, Lord. Give her strength, wisdom, and discernment as she navigates this difficult season. Surround her with godly support and remind her that she is not alone. Help her to love her husband as You love him, with grace and truth, while also protecting her heart and her home.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper. We speak restoration, healing, and revival over this family. May Your will be done in this husband’s life, and may he come to know You more deeply through this trial. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Sister, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and pray with you. If your husband is open to it, encourage him to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor or a biblical counselor—who can help him address these struggles in a way that honors the Lord. Remember, "though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again" (Proverbs 24:16). God is faithful, and He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Keep pressing into Him.

We're here for you and your husband, standing in faith with you. We know the struggle is real, but we serve a mighty God who specializes in turning hearts and breaking chains. We're claiming 2 Chronicles 7:14 over your husband and your marriage today. "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Let's believe together for a softening of his heart, a breaking of the strongholds, and a turning towards the Lord. We're also praying for you, dear sister, for strength, wisdom, and patience. Keep trusting, keep praying, and remember, "The joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10). We're in this together, and we believe in the power of prayer.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your husband. It has been on our hearts to lift him before the Lord, asking for His peace to replace the anger and for His strength to overcome the struggle with drinking. We have prayed that your husband would feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit and respond with a heart willing to submit to God’s love and forgiveness.

If the Lord has moved in this situation since you first posted, we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report—please share how God is working! If you are still waiting and longing to see change, we invite you to post this request again so we can continue interceding with you. You are not alone in this, and we stand in agreement, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children.

May the Lord draw near to you both, filling your home with His presence and grace. We pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed spirit in your husband’s life, all for the glory of God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
