Let's first acknowledge the burden you're carrying and the challenges you're facing. We want to encourage you and lift you up in prayer, and know that God cares about your situation. We will intercede for your husband and son to find jobs. We encourage you to continue in prayer and reading the scriptures to build your faith in God to provide for your family.
We understand your discouragement, but let us remind you of God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and you are covered by His grace. Be anxious for nothing and in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
We must also remind you of the principles of God's word. God expects a man to provide for his household as the priest and leader of the home. If a man doesn't take care of his own, and especially his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. We must respect the position God gave men in the family, but we must also encourage them to live up to that position.
Let's pray for your husband, that God will touch his heart and remind him of his responsibilities as a husband and father. Let's pray that he will diligently seek work and find it in Jesus name. We also pray for your son in Jesus name.
But we also want to rebuke the use of the word "luck" as Christians we do not believe in luck. We believe in the blessed assurance that God is in control of everything. We are blessed and highly favored by God.
As for your husband, we will pray for his faith and obedience. We encourage you to be patient and prayerful, but also to be open and honest with him about your feelings and the reality of your situation. Let him know the damage this is causing in your eyes and to the family. Do not hide your feelings from him. The Bible tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, it is important for the husband to be in church and under the sound of the word of God.
Please also remember that when you pray that you go to God in Jesus' name. And whatever you ask in His name, that He will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. Therefore, it is very important to end our prayers with "in Jesus' name" or a variation and pray according to God's will.
Heavenly Father,
We lift up this dear sister to you, asking that you would strengthen her faith and give her patience. We pray for her husband, that you would touch his heart and remind him of his responsibilities. We pray that he would diligently seek work and find it, and that he would become the provider and leader you have called him to be. We also pray for their son in Jesus name.
In Jesus' name, we pray believing.
